Gwyneth Paltrow Named the Face of Boss Perfume

It’s been a busy week for the fragrance industry! Hot on the heels of Chanel No. 5′s Brad Pitt announcementGwyneth Paltrow has just been named the face of Boss Nuit Pour Femme.

The women’s fragrance, which will pre-launch in August before a global roll-out in September, is inspired by the sensuality and elegance of the classic little black dress, according to WWD. Paltrow’s personal style certainly fits that bill: “[She's] the perfect complement to Boss Fragrances,” Hugo Boss Fragrance global marketing director, Gerd Von Podewils, tells WWD.

“I was honored and very happy to be chosen as the face of Boss Nuit Pour Femme,” Paltrow adds. “To me, the Boss woman is driven, ambitious and goes after what she wants, but she balances being strong and very feminine at the same time — characteristics that I strive towards in my own life.”

Paltrow — who attended the Met Gala Monday — is currently in London promoting the fragrance.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Stylist Says Her Tom Ford Dress ‘Screamed Oscars’

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s caped white Oscars dress was certainly a fashion risk, but the actress wouldn’t have had it any other way. In the latest issue of her GOOP newsletter, the star chats with her stylist, Elizabeth Saltzman, about picking the gown and getting ready for the big event.

“This dress screamed OSCARS to me,” Saltzman says. “It simply was ‘the one.’ The dress was composed of all the elements that I look out for for Gwyneth: supreme elegance, grace, royalty, extreme modern luxury, simplicity without lacking intense skill and risk. It had a positive edginess to it as well.”

In the interview, Saltzman discusses the process of fittings — “If I’m lucky, I get a second fitting in,” she adds — and says the client “always” comes before the gown. “You have to think about the person, their body, their confidence, their coloring, their wishes, their needs and what will be successful for them,” she continues.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Picks for Spring: Boyfriend Jeans, Pencil Skirts and Jumpsuits

Gwyneth PaltrowSara De Boer/Startraks

Last year she had Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler and Splendid on her list; this year it’s Lanvin, Acne and Alexander Wang. Gwyneth Paltrow has again teamed with Net-a-Porter.com to share her style picks for spring — the complete list is in this week’s GOOP newsletter — and just like last year, the stylish finds come with hefty price tags.

The first look on Paltrow’s list is the boyfriend jean paired with a cropped jacket; her selections include a pair of Current/Elliott jeans ($220) and a burgundy Boy. by Band of Outsiders linen blazer ($1,010).

A black leather pencil skirt by Chloé ($2,865) goes perfectly with a patterned gray Diane von Furstenberg jacket, white Alexander Wang tee ($75) and fringed black nubuck Maison Martin Margiela booties ($895).

For a more casual look, Paltrow recommends an Étoile Isabel Marant jumpsuit ($600) accessorized with a chunky Lanvin Swarovski crystal charm necklace ($1,490). And a yellow Girl. by Band of Outsiders jacket goes perfectly with Acne denim-effect blue shorts ($210) and that trusty Alexander Wang tee.

Beauty Expert Ben Bennett on the Best Makeup of the Academy Awards

There weren’t any major fashion misses on Sunday’s red carpet, and according to the experts, there weren’t any beauty blunders, either. Ben Bennett, a beauty trend forecaster and creative director of Hatch Beauty, tells PEOPLE he could hardly find a flaw.

“I don’t think anybody got it wrong,” he says. “There were some who were less exciting than others, but overall there was a casual sensibility about the evening.”

Rooney Mara was one of Bennett’s favorites, thanks to her “exquisite complexion, archless brows” and “modern” look. “She just looked … very different, even though she was wearing a red lip,” he explains. “I thought the pairing of that with the sharp black bangs and white dress felt very fresh.”

Another favorite was Michelle Williams, who’s “really owning” her pixie hairstyle, Bennett says. “She’s making it very hard for any other actress to do that little cut and not think Michelle Williams — it’s really a signature of hers,” he explains. “And I loved the pairing of her dress and the bright pink lip.”

Hot Stuff: Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow Cut Fine Figures at the Grammys

Gwyneth Paltrow Grammys

Chris Martin is a lucky man! The Coldplay rocker’s leading ladies — collaborator Rihanna and wife Gwyneth Paltrow — paused for a hot shot for Paltrow’s WhoSay page Sunday night while backstage at the Grammy Awards, showing off their slim figures and similar, slinky gowns. Rihanna worked the room in custom Giorgio Armani (she’s currently a face of the designer’s denim and underwear lines), while Paltrow wowed in a long black number with a solid gold belt.

Gwyneth Paltrow Prefers Wrinkles to Botox

Gwyneth Paltrow Harper's Bazaar

She’s been quite candid about the work she’s put into maintaining her fabulous figure, and Gwyneth Paltrow is happy to get frank on the subject of aging, too. “I’ll take my wrinkles,” she admits in March’s revamped Harper’s Bazaar. “I don’t like the Botox thing.”

What she does like? In addition to her husband and children — whom she opens up about in the issue — simply food. “I eat whatever I want,” she says. “I like bread and cheese and wine, and that makes my life fun and enjoyable.” But it’s not always about indulgence; the cookbook author often goes on detoxes to restart her system, and even sells a cleanse on her goop.com website.

Perhaps that’s how she’s always fit into gorgeous designer dresses, from her glimmering Elie Saab and short Stella McCartney to her tummy-baring Emilio Pucci and the infamous Alexander McQueen, worn to the 2002 Oscars. “I loved it,” she says of the controversial gown. “But I think the hair was a mistake. I shouldn’t have had it braided.” Read more on Paltrow in the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar and at harpersbazaar.com/gwyneth.
