Confession: We were a little disappointed that so many stars actually followed the dress code at the Grammy Awards Sunday night. But even though it was a sea of black dresses and relatively demure looks, there were four ladies who still managed to turn our heads.

Rihanna: We did a double take when we spotted the Barbadian beauty in a wrapped-bodice Azzedine Alaïa creation, but not for the usual (read: revealing) reasons. The star was giving us mega Pon de Replay-era flashbacks between the romantic gown and long, ombré waves.

Are You Loving Florence Welch's Blinged-Out Braid?

We’ve spotted several celebs sporting milkmaid braids on the red carpet recently, and we like them. They’re fresh, youthful and a playful alternative to the classic updo.

And since Florence + the Machine frontwoman Florence Welch is never one to shy away from a trendsetting style, we weren’t surprised to see her try the plaited ‘do a few weeks ago at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles.

However, it seems as though Welch wasn’t satisfied with just any milkmaid braid: she spiced hers up with an edgy gold headpiece.

Though the jewelry does dress up her look, it could also be seen as a bit distracting — so we want to know what you think of it!

Tell us: Are you loving Welch’s accessorized braid? Vote in our poll below and leave your thoughts in the comments; your feedback could appear in the February issue of PEOPLE StyleWatch.

Harrods Sale with Florence Welch

Sure it was Chanel, but was Florence Welch’s head-to-toe black-and-gray ensemble a fashion faux pas? The singer wore the gown and cape while kicking off the annual Harrods post-holiday sale in London Tuesday, but her look raised more than a few well-groomed eyebrows.

Regardless, the singer stunned, belting “What the Water Gave Me” and “Shake it Out” backed by an acoustic guitar. According to U.K.’s Stylist, she was the first musician to ever perform at the legendary sale.

After her brief concert, Welch spoke to Stylist about her personal relationships with designers like Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld and Gucci’s Frida Giannini, who designed her summer tour costumes. And she revealed that there are a few rising stars she’d someday like to work with. “I love Erdem,” she shared. “I’ve met with Sarah Burton, and as well as being so, so nice, the work she has done at Alexander McQueen is just incredible.”

How to Get Florence Welch's High-Gloss Drama

Rocker Florence Welch relies on a few good products to achieve her high-style look. “I’m a powder and red lipstick girl,” she tells Style.com, singling out Yves Saint Laurent’s Rouge Pur Couture as the perfect shade of crimson. A stickler for skincare, the Florence + the Machine frontwoman splurges on richly nourishing Crème de la Mer face cream. Other must-haves include Rimmel London nail polish in Spice Romance for day — “This color goes with everything,” she gushes — and for a vampier look, Chanel’s Gondola lacquer. But the key to keeping her trademark tresses on fire is Hollywood’s best-kept secret. “I use this every time I wash my hair,” she raves of Morrocanoil, a finishing treatment loved by Audrina Patridge and Rachel Roy. “It’s great for keeping it shiny and controlling frizz.” And while other stars switch up their shades, don’t expect Welch to ditch her hue any time soon: “Me and [model Karen Elson] and [Vogue's] Grace Coddington were all together in Paris recently; it was as if we formed a ginger coven!” –Justine Harman
