Heidi Klum didn’t plan on walking the runway of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last night, but let’s just say she’s a little bit impulsive. “I felt great the night of the fashion show and decided last minute to walk,” the supermodel, 36, who welcomed daughter Lou, with husband Seal, last month, tells PEOPLE exclusively. Klum, who had already been fitted for her dress, opened the Enchanted Forest-themed part of the show, wearing a vine-strewn corset and a full white skirt. “I loved my outfit,” she says, “so I thought, why not?” Her surprise appearance, known only to Victoria’s Secret insiders, drew screams and applause from a shocked audience during the live show Thursday night. Though Klum, who was expected only to host the festivities, said that while her new job behind the scenes meant there was “definitely less pressure,” walking in the show was a thrill for her. “I’m proud of being the curvy model on the Victoria’s Secret stage,” she says, adding that she enjoyed the show herself. “The Black Eyed Peas and all of the looks for the show were fantastic!” You can watch Heidi — and all the Angels — hit the runway when the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs on CBS at 10pm EST on Dec. 1.–Charlotte Triggs

We’re all for a little style experimentation, but when we spotted beauty mavens Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen at MoMA’s Film Benefit honoring Tim Burton this week in New York we were more than a little perplexed. We’d gotten used to Mary-Kate being the style risk-taker and her twin Ashley taking a more conservative approach. But the duo played with our expectations, with Ashley adding rainbow stripes to her hair and her sister going as bold as ever with the deepest red lips around. Tell us: What do you think of the sisters changing it up? What’s the boldest look you’ve tried in the name of beauty?

She’s a successful TV star, fashion designer and fiction writer, but she hasn’t written a book on style — until now. Lauren Conrad will unveil her top style tips in Lauren Conrad Style, to be published by Harper Collins in the fall of 2010. The book will not only feature new and never-before-seen photos of the fashion icon, but the former MTV “Hills” star will show readers exactly how to interpret her classic and cool style into their lives. “I am really excited to write a style guide,” said Conrad, who designs an affordable clothing line for Kohl’s, in a release. “I think fashion should be fun and reflective of who you are. When you wear clothes you feel good in, it shows in everything you do. I know this guide will offer simple, practical tips to help anyone look fabulous.” This year, Lauren released her first book L.A. If Leighton Meester could give just one piece of fashion advice to her Gossip Girl alter ego, Blair Waldorf, what would it be? “She could let loose a bit,” British Glamour’s December cover girl says. “She’s always got every bow in the right spot and her headband perfectly placed. Tights to match her sweater to match her jacket to match her gloves to put on with her hat.” It sounds…exhausting. However, despite their different wardrobes, the Gossip Girl actress credits the show for her own edgy style. “This character has been an introduction to fashion,” she says. “I take my own cue and do something different. Blair’s much more classic – I like changing it up.” When it comes to her beauty regime, the actress ditches Blair’s rollers and irons for a more natural look. “I actually think I’m prettier without makeup,” she boldly states, and her favorite hairstyle is definitely headband-less. “I like it to be somewhat tousled.” Perhaps the only fashion item they do have in common is their love of gravity-defying high heels which, according to Meester, are responsible for her toned calf muscles. “It’s probably from walking in high heels — I’m not kidding!” –Monique Jessen

Well, her boyfriend Russell Brand loved them. Now, lusty fans can have some too. Katy Perry’s soccer-themed lingerie, that is! Brand’s favorite soccer club, West Ham United, provided three shirts for 25-year-old Perry’s stylists to fashion into skimpy stagewear for her turn hosting the MTV Europe Music Awards earlier this month. And after the pictures raised eyebrows for her boyfriend, as well as admirers around the world, the club in East London has decided to make a limited number themselves. Initially, 50 sets priced at around $480 each will be made on a pre-order basis only. (If placed before November 20, they will be ready for Christmas and they are ordered before the end of next month, they will be perfectly timed for a Valentine’s Day surprise, the club says.) Perry’s get-up was the brainchild of freelance celebrity stylist and costume designer Siobhan Dillon. She told the West Ham United website Wednesday, “I thought it would be cool to try and make the shirt as football-oriented as possible. “So, I used the collars along the top of the brassiere and used the two badges on the front. I had a team of three girls working with me on the outfit. In her new film Broken Embraces, Penélope Cruz dresses the part of a mogul’s wife and budding movie star, but at the Calvin Klein Collection-sponsored Cinema Society premiere at the Crosby Street Hotel last night, she looked simply angelic in a long white velvet coat and matching dress from Calvin Klein Collection with glittering Chopard diamonds. “She’s an angel,” said Francisco Costa, who is the Women’s Creative Director, Calvin Klein Collection. “She’s a total clothes horse. She looks amazing in everything.” Costa was also struck at how well the camera reacts to Penélope, even in her off time. “It was quite telling today. I wasn’t in the last fitting, and I got pictures of her in the clothes at the hotel room. And they looked like movie stills. She was just wearing the clothes in the hotel room, but it almost felt like Helmut Newton pictures, there was so much of her in the photos.” Even for a star as graceful as Penélope, it is still demanding to promote two movies at once — her musical Nine is coming out in December, as well. “Well, yes, I’m dressing for two tours at once over these two weeks, so it’s great that I have a team of people that help me.” Luckily after months of rigorous training for her dance numbers in Nine, she looks as fabulous in her red carpet clothes as she does in her revealing costumes. “For Nine, I had to rehearse a number for three months,” said Cruz. “That was the only way to do that, I had singing teachers and dancing teachers. I did dancing when I was growing up. I did classical ballet, but what I do in Nine is a VERY different type of dance. It was really like starting from zero, in a way.”–Jeffrey Slonim

Her fans might envy Whitney Port for always looking perfectly put-together, but The City star is sharing the beauty wealth by appearing in her blog makeup-free — and revealing her favorite tips for dolling up. “I am not a big fan of heavy makeup,” she says, “so the majority of the time I do my own. I stick to the basics of face powder, bronzer and blush.” Her five-minute plan to getting gorgeous without a personal makeup artist? “I start by mixing Fresh High Noon tinted moisturizer with the Fresh Soy Face Cream to get a nice base with a little sunkissed glow. Then I dust Bare Minerals Powder with SPF 15 to even out my skin. Next I bronze with Guerlain Number One for Blondes on my cheeks, hairline and jawline. Then I brush a little bit of NARS Orgasm Blush on my cheekbones, a little on my forehead, nose, and chin to keep it constant. I use Anastasia brow gel to give my eyebrows a nice shape (this is especially helpful if I haven’t had time to go in to get them done.) I highlight under my eyebrows with Benefit Eye Bright and then curl my lashes with a Sephora eyelash curler. Looks like Lindsay Lohan hasn’t found herself another fashion job quite yet. Though Ungaro’s Artistic Advisor told Access Hollywood that she had teamed up with jewelry designer Pascal Mouawad to create a collection for bebe, WWD reports that it just isn’t so. According to the paper, Pascal Mouawad, who has partnered with Nicole Richie and Heidi Klum in the past, acknowledges that though discussions about launching a jewelry line with Lindsay for bebe did take place, the line “is not happening.” And a rep from bebe confirms that to PEOPLE, saying “We are not doing anything with her. There were talks months ago but we did not go forward with anything.” While Lindsay won’t be contributing to the bebe design team, you can still get star style at the retailer with Nicole Richie’s exclusive House of Harlow collection and Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian’s spring clothing line for bebe.

Not only will the Kardashian sisters’ clothing line for Bebe hit stores this spring, but Kim, Kourtney and Khloe will also be launching a jewelry collection for hip L.A. brand Virgin Saints and Angels. “The collection embraces our unique style…. Romantic, edgy, and classic vintage… of at least we hope so . Our Armenian culture is very important to us and we tried to incorporate that in the jewelry also,” Kim writes on her official website. There isn’t much that could have out-done last week’s infamous threesome, but leave it to Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) to make the steamy scene a thing of the past by securing an exclusive performance by Lady Gaga. And while Gaga took over the Gossip Girl set with her red-hot stage wear, we still couldn’t take our eyes off Vanessa Abrams’s color mix (played by Jessica Szohr) and Blair’s preppy plaid coats. While Vanessa stuck to her laidback style in a Diane von Furstenberg sweater coat paired with slouchy Brian Atwood booties and a blue L.A.M.B. bag, Blair was the picture of uptown sophistication in her Theory cape coat, red patent Manolo Blahnik peep-toes and black-and-white Chanel purse. Hollywood’s fashion elite, including Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba and Ginnifer Goodwin, flocked to the Prada Book Launch at the Prada Rodeo Drive boutique, which was transformed into a library in celebration of the 708 page book which highlights Prada fashion collections and architectural collaborations throughout the decades. But while the theme of the night may have been reading, it was all about lavishing praise on designer Miuccia Prada for all assembled in their Prada and Miu Miu finest. “I almost wore this dress to the Emmys,” Goodwin exclaimed of her gorgeous white ’50s-inspired ensemble, “I have been wanting desperately to wear it and show it off!” Newly blonde, Miu Miu-clad Emma Roberts added, “I love Prada. I think every piece in their collection never fails to disappoint. It’s always really unique and Miu Miu does the same.” Inside the party, a Prada LBD-clad Biel flipped through the tome, showing off her favorite images to friends while Alba sipped on the event’s signature cocktail and gushed about the designer. Her main gig might be modeling, but Kate Moss is shaping up to be one of fashion’s most prolific perfumers. Kate has just launched her fourth scent, the fruity “floriental” Vintage, in Europe, and while Coty tells PEOPLE that there are no plans to bring fragrance to the U.S., you can get a peek at the star’s sexy campaign, shot by Mert and Marcus. Dressed in a champagne-colored gown, Kate strikes a pose inside a six-foot replica of a Vintage bottle. Tell us: What do you think of Kate’s newest fragrance campaign? Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have put their creative minds to something new — elegant serpent-themed jewelry! The power couple has teamed with a top British jeweler Asprey to come up with a series of designs for everything from earrings, pendants, bangles, rings to a silver spoon and egg cup. And, like so much of their life away from the cameras, the collection will benefit others. All the net proceeds will go to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, to which the couple has already donated $1 million via the Jolie-Pitt Foundation in June 2008. For Jolie, 34, the inspiration for the collection was an obvious one. While she was expecting Shiloh in 2006, she was given a special gift — a protective snake ring. It was seen as a protector for mother and unborn child, and Jolie has come to view the motif as something of a family guardian. “Since then she has seen the snake symbol as a protective talisman for her family,” a source at Asprey tells PEOPLE. The series started out as something for children — 16-month-old Vivienne has already been photographed wearing bangles with the snake motifs– but has developed into the limited edition “Protector Collection” of high end jewelry and other luxuries, which does still include children’s items like a tooth box and silver egg cup. Kate Moss might have built a multi-million dollar career on her looks, but, she says, her appeal is more than skin deep. “It sounds really corny, but I think that if you’re beautiful inside, it shows on the outside for sure,” she tells WWD in an interview timed with the European launch of her fourth fragrance, Vintage. “You can be a pretty face, but if you’re not a nice person it just doesn’t work. I’m not traditionally a beauty, but apparently people think I’m all right.” And of course, there is always the personality factor. Kate elaborates, “If you’re a nice person, it definitely helps.” This doesn’t, however, mean that the original waif would let herself go. Vogue’s December issue is getting bewitched– literally– by fierce style star Lady Gaga. Starring in a Hansel and Gretel-inspired spread, shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, Lady Gaga channels her naughtier side to play a witch, dressed by her pal Marc Jacobs. The pop sensation tells the magazine, “I’ve always been an outspoken and extreme dresser.” And while her ruffled bloomer shorts and insanely high heels for the Vogue spread were nothing out of the ordinary for Gaga, Vogue staffers were intrigued by what the star wore to visit their office before the shoot! Lady Gaga reportedly showed up to 4 Times Square first wearing a trailing white chiffon Galliano goddess gown with a Philip Treacy headdress that spelled VOGUE in clipped white feathers, only to turn up the next day in a little black dress and flaming-red wig. And if that wasn’t outrageous enough, the singer arrived for the actual shoot “stark naked except for her white rubber raincoat and some very, very high heels!” recounts Vogue Creative Director Grace Coddington. So where does she get her crazy fashion from? Victoria Beckham’s eponymous fashion label silenced her critics when it launched last year and has since attracted a celebrity fan base to include Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively and Elle Macpherson. But the singer-turned-designer admits there is one particular actress she would love to dress – Harry Potter star, Emma Watson. In the latest issue of British Harper’s Bazaar, Beckham describes the 19-year-old Watson as “so sweet, so true to herself,” adding: “There are so many young girls wearing too much make-up, too much hairspray – I find that very dated.” The ex-Spice Girl, who rarely uses a stylist, says she’s also a fan of Kate Bosworth, Charlize Theron and Angelina Jolie’s style. “I think Angelina’s beautiful,” she said. But for now, she’s happy with her own little fashion victory – her own personal dress worn by Madonna in a raunchy W magazine shoot, which happened to be the moment Madge met Jesus Luz. “We must be the same size, because it fitted the same,” said Beckham who couldn’t have been happier to hand the garment over. “My dress has never seen so much action. When Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen first launched their mens collection for Elizabeth and James, we knew it was only a matter of time before Hollywood’s sexiest guys caught on. And it didn’t take long! Elizabeth and James for Men has been popping up all over Gossip Girl. Just this week, Dan Humphrey (played by Penn Badgley) wore the Elizabeth and James Easy V Cashmere Sweater during his now infamous threesome scene. And that wasn’t the first time Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s designs landed in the steamy television show. Dan wore two Elizabeth and James designs the week before the threesome, and last month Chuck Bass (played by Ed Westwick) sported an Elizabeth and James suit.
