No matter how much we used to love it, sometimes seeing a look too many times (even on our fave celebs!) is enough to make us cringe. Our summer fling with colored frames is definitely finished. We were originally thrilled to see Wayfarers make a comeback, but by now, we’re a little tired of seeing red and white frames pop up on everyone from Sienna Miller and Mary-Kate Olsen to Drew Barrymore and Kirsten Dunst. 2007 will go down as the year that sunglasses went through a white-out — from Drew Barrymore’s retro raybans to Nicole Richie’s groovy oversize shades, stars lightened up their frames. If color and pattern seem a bit overwhelming for you, try out an easy new trend that we’ve spotted this week — graphic black and white floral dresses. Not only is she a successful actress and producer, but Drew Barrymore can now add CoverGirl to her lengthy resume! Drew will not just be the face of the new campaign, but she will also be co-creative director for the tv commercials, debuting in January 2008. Esi Eggleston Bracey, Vice President and General Manager, CoverGirl Cosmetics in North America, says “we wanted to honor Drew’s passions as a filmmaker and are thrilled she is not only lending her beautiful face to CoverGirl but also lending her artistic talents as the co-creative director of the ad campaign.” But don’t worry — the actress isn’t exactly switching careers. “I leave the makeup and product up to them, that’s their expertise,” she told The Associated Press in a phone interview from the set. “What I want to do is honor the tradition of CoverGirl but hopefully bring myself and my personality into it, as well as some edgy fashion-forward thinking and positivity to it.” As for becoming a model, the actress joked, “What girl doesn’t fantasize about it?”

Turns out that Drew Barrymore and Kirsten Dunst don’t just have the same taste in guys, they also have the same taste in sunglasses! We already knew that Drew loves her white-rimmed Linda Farrow Vintage sunglasses, and it turns out that Kirsten does too, wearing them all the time during her Hawaiian getaway this week. We think the glasses are a fun throwback to the wayfarer look — we told you it’d be a hot trend! — and add a funky edge to any outfit, even a bikini! We leave it up to you. Drew has been glamming up the red carpet promoting her new movie Music and Lyrics, co-starring Hugh Grant, but on camera the star is relaxed and casual in one of her favorite brands of jeans: Joe’s! Drew exclusively wears Joe’s throughout the whole movie, like the “Billy” Socialite she wears in a scene to the left. Off set, Drew has been a Joe’s fan since the company launched in 2001. Accroding to a Joe’s rep, the starlet loves mostly all the fits and rinses. Other than the Socialite, some of her favorite styles are Lover, Cigarette, and trouser fits in clean, medium-dark, indigo rinses and neutral overdyes such as black, charcoal and white.

We love the edgy style of Drew Barrymore and salute her womanly curves, as it seems, does British designer, Giles Deacon who chose the actress to front his ‘Gold by Giles’ collection for British high street chain, New Look (think H&M or Forever 21). The designer bagged the A-lister when a stylist pal of his bumped into the actress in a hotel lift and the deal was done. The 35 piece collection includes jeans, oversized sunglasses, vivid print tunics and this stunning silk beaded dress, which is a steal at just £45 ($88). “Despite her Hollywood associations, she is ballsy and has a playful ‘child-woman’ appeal,” says Deacon. Adds a New Look representative: “She always looks like she’s having a good time.” We couldn’t agree more. The line launches in Europe on March 13 but sadly for us, the e-commerce won’t be up until May.

Making the red carpet rounds while promoting her new movie Music and Lyrics in London and Los Angeles, Drew Barrymore has looked exceptionally glam the past few weeks. We particularly her bold pairing of many gold bangles with her Roberto Cavalli gown at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. When Donatella Versace invites you to a party, you don’t say no — and you definitely say yes to borrowing one of her house’s super-sexy gowns. At the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award honoring Donatella and her late brother Gianni Versace, A-listers turned out looking so good, that we can’t help but wonder if it’s even possible to look bad in Versace? (Oscar nominees and presenters, take note!) Drew Barrymore left her hippie vibe at home for sleek, straight hair and a stone-encrusted gown, while the better-than-ever Jennifer Lopez played the part of the smoldering siren to a hilt — even Sharon Stone, who has made more than one questionable fashion choice recently, looked flawless. Other attendees looking jaw-droppingly beautiful included Eva Longoria in ice-blue, Mischa Barton in a daring hemline, Jada Pinkett Smith and Demi Moore in second-skin black satin, and so many more in a truly star-studded evening. As they say, only in Hollywood. . .

Oh, if only we could have been a fly on the clothing racks when one of our favorite stars hit one of our favorite stores. While some celebrities demand that stores be closed just for their private shopping pleasure, Drew Barrymore simply arrived at the flagship Oxford Street Topshop store in London with a small group of pals towards the end of the day on Tuesday. With other customers milling about, Drew enjoyed a style advisor session, which is a personal shopping service that Topshop offers free of charge for all customers (what, no stylist in tow?). We don’t know exactly what the Music & Lyrics star made off with, but we do know one perk she enjoyed — Drew got to keep shopping past the store’s usual 9 pm closing time. Lucky girl!

The inspiration behind Drew Barrymore’s gorgeous Golden Globes look was really quite natural: “I was inspired by the opaqueness of a pearl,” says the star’s makeup artist, Gucci Westman of Lancome. “Nothing too soft — I wanted to play with highlight and shadows.” Westman used a Lancome palette #2 from the line’s latest collection to create the look. “It has a silver, bronze and a pinky color for the inner corner of her eyes. Then I rimmed it with a brown liner.” As for Barrymore’s hair, Giannandrea for L’Oréal Professionnel decided on an updo as soon as he saw the star’s Dior dress. “The angelic Botticelli look was my inspiration, and I wanted to use combination braids — and Drew told me she was thinking braids too.” Adds Westman: “We were all on the same page.” If only it was as easy to create her striking pink Dior gown at home.

The People’s Choice Awards may not have the glam gowns of the Oscars, but how fun is it to vote for your favorite stars? This year, we are loving the OLAY Total Effects ‘Love Your Look’ Award, where we all get to vote for our favorite celebrity look from their list of nominees: Sandra Bullock, Evangeline Lily, Katherine Heigl, Reese Witherspoon, and Drew Barrymore. Okay, I’m envious. Drew Barrymore has the hot boyfriend with the sexy name (Fabriiiiiizio!), she’s her own boss (at Flower Films), she hangs with Cameron Diaz (and you know that means Justin too), she can pull off the reddest red lipstick out there — and, this is what really kills me, she can wear the perfect pencil skirt and heels and look so sophisticated one night. . .and the next? She’s Miss Downtown Hipster, with her expertly worn-in rocker tee, aviators and jeans (left). I mean, did you see her at Fashion Week (right)? It’s as if anything she does, from hosting the Calvin Klein afterparty to standing in the balcony at Fab’s Strokes shows, she’s totally at ease (and must have the best closet). She’s dressing just the way a 31-year-old woman should: still fun and sexy, yet womanly — with a little edge.
