She’s dabbled in the fragrance industry and even created a line of striptease-inspired pens, but now, Dita Von Teese is trying her hand at something a bit more conventional: designing cardigan sweaters! The burlesque star recently collaborated with Wheels & Dollbaby on a limited edition, vintage inspired cardigan, which the star just happened to wear to the grocery store last weekend. The 1950s-inspired retro knit comes in four color combinations and is packaged inside a collectible peek-a-boo armoire-style box. “I love the way Wheels & Dollbaby makes it easy for any girl to capture the spirit of the classic pin-up girl,” Von Teese said in a statement. “This cute cardigan has always been a favorite of mine, and I am excited to bring it to my fans. I wear mine with a sleek pencil skirt or capri pants for an easy yet chic ensemble.” The Dita Rose Embroidered Cardi, which features satin trim, black velvet buttons and a matching velvet necktie, retails for $190 (which includes an autographed postcard from Von Teese!) and can be purchased at wheelsanddollbaby.com. It looks like Dita Von Teese is testing her skills as a perfumer–but don’t expect the burlesque queen to be involved in creating something sweet. “No fruit, no vanilla, no candy!!,” the star Tweeted Thursday while spending time at a chateau in the French countryside working with perfumers. Instead, it’s all about “Velvet sensuality w/a dash of vulgarity!” And while fruity-floral concoctions might not make the cut for the star, just what does she love in a scent? “I want to evoke passion with fragrance….intense love/lust and distaste/fear rather than merely popular acceptance.” Does this mean that Dita is developing her own signature scent like so many other stars, or is she merely dabbling for herself? Only time will tell…. Tell us: Would you want a buy a fragrance from Dita if she created one?
