Rumer Willis: It's a 'Bummer' I Can't Wear Mom's Shoes

Rumer Willis has admitted to raiding mom Demi Moore‘s closet in the past, but there’s one item she can’t ever get away with borrowing: shoes.

“She’s a size-and-a-half smaller than me in shoes, so I can’t wear any of them,” she told PEOPLE recently at Arcade Boutique’s second annual Autumn Party at the London in West Hollywood. “It’s kind of a bummer.”

However, Willis wouldn’t necessarily want to be in her mom’s Jimmy Choos and Christian Louboutins all the time anyway: the actress said she doesn’t wear heels during the day very often. “When I see women walking around L.A. in heels I just wonder how they can do it,” she shared. “I’m baffled.”

That goes for New York City, too, where walking rules. But Willis explained that when she’s spending time in Manhattan, her style changes to fit the city’s vibe. “You almost become this very different person,” she said. “I don’t know what it is.”

California girl Demi Moore is channeling her inner snow bunny as the face of Ann Taylor’s holiday collection.

The campaign images, shot in Los Angeles by famed fashion photographer Norman Jean Roy, feature Moore in the middle of a magical snow-filled scene as she shows off some romantic pieces from the holiday collection, including tweed pants, a statement chandelier necklace and a beaded shell worn with a faux chinchilla stole — a personal favorite. “It’s so chic, luxurious and versatile,” she tells PEOPLE.

She’s been known to rock the latest fashions looking nothing short of stunning, and even inspired the creation of a perfume. And now, Demi Moore is showing off a sophisticated side as the newest face of Ann Taylor.

Moore was shot by photographer Patrick Demarchelier at the rooftop Rockefeller Center Gardens in New York City for the brand’s 2011 advertising campaign, which will debut in magazines in September. In the photos, the actress goes demure, wearing some of her favorite looks — a combination of iconic styles mixed with the latest trends — from the fall collection.

“I am delighted to collaborate with Ann Taylor,” Moore said in a statement. “It is the quintessential American brand for modern working women, and is a company of women, for women. They really understand what women need today to be confident and successful. The new fall collection is chic, comfortable and beautiful from the inside out, and as versatile and diverse as the lives we lead.”

It may be frigid in Salt Lake City, but the stars in town for the Sundance Film Festival have figured out that the best way to punctuate the snowy landscape is with eye-catching accessories! A-listers including Demi Moore, Liv Tyler, Elizabeth Olsen and Kate Bosworth don’t sacrifice style for warmth by accenting winter wear with a variety of seasonal accoutrement. Ashton’s gal chose industrial lace-up booties to trudge through the snow while Tyler, in town on behalf of her dramatic film The Edge, stayed toasty in a fuzzy hat with ear flaps. Newcomer, and little sister to Mary-Kate and Ashley, Olsen kept the freeze out with a cozy wraparound scarf and burgundy beret, which she paired with on-trend leather leggings. And Bosworth, who has two films at the festival, avoided hat hair with cute buffalo check earmuffs. With adorable extras like these, we say: Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Hollywood's New Fashion Favorite: Carven

It seems there is a new designer du jour in Tinseltown: Parisian brand, Carven. Although the design house is over 65 years old, Hollywood’s youngest and brightest stars including Kim Kardashian, Emma Watson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Leighton Meester and Demi Moore are flocking to the collection for its playful silhouettes and unique details. Last September, Kardashian indulged in some high-end retail therapy, touring France in a voluminous Carven frock with a peekaboo back. Two months later, Emma Watson rocked a coquettish putty-colored shift dress accented with a classic schoolgirl collar. Flash forward to the L.A. premiere of No Strings Attached where Demi Moore dazzled in the brand’s double-zip design with sculpted shoulders. Carven describes its aesthetic as “student-boho chic” with “a distinct taste for contrast,” but we only have two words: “C’est l’amour!” Snag some Carven pieces for yourself at, with prices starting at $320. –Justine Harman
