Christina Hendricks Cuts Her Hair – Do You Love It?

We’re pretty sure her conservative Mad Men character wouldn’t approve, but we’re loving Christina Hendricks’s new chin-length cut.

At a promotional event for the show in N.Y.C., the actress debuted the kind of picture-perfect bob that’s worthy of being printed out and taken to a salon — from the length to the layers, it’s stunning on the star.

Initially, we didn’t realize how much shorter it was, because Hendricks tends to hit red carpets with her hair curled (check out her last look here), but when we compared it to the star’s street style, it became clear just how much she’d lopped off.

And what a difference a few inches makes! Her new do is fresh and youthful and really brings out her delicate features. We’ve made it clear how we feel about it, so now it’s your turn: What do you think of Hendricks’s new cut?

Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks Has How Many Pencil Skirts?!

There’s something to be said for learning on the job, as Christina Hendricks can attest. She’s definitely picked up a few things from playing Joan on Mad Men, now in its sixth season.

“[I've learned] more about confidence and trusting your decisions,” she says in the May issue of Flare magazine. “And about pencil skirts, which I now have, like, 75 of. I was like, ‘Why didn’t I know about this skirt before?’”

But the star, who says she’s really more of a “caftans” girl in her downtime, doesn’t want to be limited to just the ’60s-appropriate clothes her character wears so well. One of the perks of being famous, she says, is that “I get to wear much prettier clothes than I used to and I really like that perk.”

Among her favorite things to wear? “There are definitely designers that I just love and I just know work really well with my figure,” she tells Flare. “L’Wren Scott, Vivienne Westwood, Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera. Those are designers that you’ll always see me wear again and again.”

Go Inside the Star-Studded Theodora & Callum Party!

Poolside cocktails, on-trend clothes and the chance to catch up with star friends — who wouldn’t want to attend that party? Apparently, half of Hollywood agrees with us, because A-list ladies like Kristen Bell, Christina Hendricks, Emma Roberts and Hilary Duff stopped by the Theodora & Callum and Coach cocktail party last week, held at a private Beverly Hills home.

A very pregnant Bell (not pictured) was among one of the first to arrive, looking adorable in jeans and a striped top, plus a huge smile as she chatted with other pregnant attendees. She rubbed her belly throughout the afternoon and took home a red Coach “Saffiano” tote.

Hendricks (above, chatting with Roberts) opted for the black version of Bell’s Coach tote, and looked perfect for the spring weather in floral pants and a white Alice Temperley button down.

Paula Patton (laughing with Duff) arrived later in the evening and dished about her must-have accessory for spring. “With the weather always changing, a great scarf is my go-to item for spring,” she says. “Theodora & Callum make scarves with the best color and fabrics.”

Which Emmys Style Stars Got the Most Buzz on Facebook?

We know which style stars we were talking about during Sunday night’s Emmy Awards — but what did you think?

According to Facebook, the leading lady on our best dressed list with the most buzz last night was none other than Sofia Vergara (perhaps that wardrobe malfunction had something to do with it). But she wasn’t the only one who had Facebook users talking.

Christina Hendricks, who hugged her curves in a belted Christian Siriano gown, was the second-most discussed actress of the night, followed by newly single (and svelte) Amy Poehler, leggy Heidi Klum and Zooey Deschanel, who chose a princess-like gown for her big night out. January Jones, Nicole Kidman and Tina Fey weren’t far behind. Tell us: Whose dress got you talking last night? What did your friends have to say about the Emmys on Facebook?

It Costs How Much?! Christina Hendricks Carries a $23,980 Purse

Aug/21/2012 at 12:15 PM ET

Christina Hendricks carried a $23,980 purse while out and about in Beverly Hills on Monday. And what did she pair with the exorbitantly priced black-and-silver “Isabella” Farbod Barsum tote? Oh, just a pair of jeans and a frayed shirt.

Since this is one of the most expensive bags we’ve ever laid our eyes on, you’d think it would have a 24-karat gold zipper and diamond studs or something … but it’s actually kind of regular looking.

The star’s alligator-skin arm candy costs more than some people’s annual salary. So that got us thinking over here at StyleWatch — what would we spend 24 grand on if we had to blow it all at once?

Here’s what we came up with: Pay our rent for the entire year; Rent a water bungalow in Bali; Buy 40 pairs of Christian Louboutins; Lease a Bentley for a year; Feed a small country.

But just because we think spending that much money on something that carries your keys, wallet, phone and sunglasses is kind of wacky, doesn’t mean everyone agrees with us. Tell us: Would you spend that much money on a bag if you could?

Something’s Funny About Mad Men’s Holiday Costumes …

Aug/16/2012 at 10:30 AM ET

Mad Men is known for its killer costumes, but there’s more than meets the eye to the ’60s-inspired looks — at least during the holiday season.

Janie Bryant, the show’s costume designer, loves to put a few special touches on the character’s more festive looks. “When it’s a holiday episode or something Joan always has [embellishments on the costumes],” Christina Hendricks told reporters of her character at the HFPA annual luncheon in Los Angeles last Thursday. “If it’s Halloween I’ve got a pumpkin. Or for Thanksgiving I’ll get acorns or something. Maybe the audience doesn’t even really notice it, but we think it’s funny.”

Like most women, Hendricks has certain styles she doesn’t feel comfortable wearing, but Bryant pushes her out of her comfort zone for her character’s sake. “She comes up with most everything. She designs a lot of pieces,” Hendricks said. “Every once in a while I’ll say, ‘Oh, I can’t wear that color. I can’t stand that color.’ And she’ll go ‘Mmm…’ But I kind of just trust her because she’s so good.”

Hendricks continued praising her co-worker. “She’s amazing. She’s extraordinarily talented, meticulous, creative, and also a good friend.” We have to agree with Hendricks; just look at those costumes!
