Wearing a chic, skin-tight Roberto Cavalli dress and black patent YSL pumps, the singer — who arrived sans husband Jordan Bratman or eight-month-old son Max — signed more than two hundred bottles of the scent. When we first spotted Christina Aguilera on a photoshoot with wild hair, we chalked it up to an over-the-top editorial look. But when Tyra Banks hit the streets of N.Y.C. to tape her show with a bevy of gorgeous models in perfectly crimped hair, our worst suspicions were confirmed — along with pegged jeans and neon colors, the ’80s revival is bringing back crimped hair. We retired our crimping irons with our scunchies and fingerless lace gloves a long time ago, but considering that we’ve even seen this trend on the haute couture runways of Paris, we might not have a choice! Macy’s has been a household name for their great fashion for years, and as part of their 150th birthday celebration, they’re letting some their biggest stars shine in a series of commemorative photos shot by famed celebrity photographer Mark Seliger. Each of five stars will represent one facet of Macy’s, with Christina Aguilera embodying the famous Flower Shows, Tommy Hilfiger taking on the Fourth of July, Martha Stewart personifying the holiday season, Donald Trump heralding the Thanksgiving Day Parade, and Calvin Klein representing the Macy’s fashion portfolio. And Seliger, who’s been one of the industry’s most successful rock photographers for over 20 years, couldn’t be happier for the opportunity to create the larger-than-life images that will roll out this fall in Macy’s stores across the country. “It’s been a privilege to collaborate with Macy’s for its 150th anniversary,” he says. “And to work with such great talent, like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, who are icons in the fashion world, Christina Aguilera, who is one of the most important voices in popular music, and Martha Stewart and Donald Trump, who are just about as much of American icons as you can get — next to Macy’s of course.”

Being a muse is nothing new to Christina Aguilera, whose retro-inspired fashion sense is appreciated by many the world’s top designers and stylists — and jeweler Stephen Webster is no exception. The London-based designer, who is known for his unconventional, modern jewelry, has just selected the star as the face of his new Spring 2008 advertising campaign. The ads, which feature the singer swathed in his luxe collection of necklaces, cuffs, rings, and earrings, play on the singer’s Old Hollywood glamour while giving a nod to classic Hitchcock films like Rear Window. And although the pair’s business arrangement is new, the star has long been a fan of Webster as a designer — and a person. “Stephen and I have been friends for many years,” Aguilera says, “He is a wonderful designer with a creative spirit and innovative vision, and I am honored to be a part of it all.” And we can’t wait to see the rest of the campaign when it launches in the April issue of W Magazine.

It seems Christina Aguilera is already passing on her love of great shoes to her new baby boy Max Liron. The singer and her husband may have kept quiet on the sex of the baby but certainly kept themselves busying buying blue goodies. Now that she’s announced her baby news to the world, the petite popstar is finally showing off her new pregnancy curves with pride. And she isn’t sacrificing her personal style to do so. At a recent event, Aguilera stepped out in a hunter green silk minidress by Vanitas of California — a hip new line full of flowy silk tops and dresses in rich solid colors and vibrant prints. And it’s definitely not a maternity line — turns out that Christina has been discussing how great it is to skip the maternity department with another famous mom-to-be. “I saw [Halle Berry] at a party, and I was like, ‘You’re completely right. Fashion is definitely on our side because the empire trend is totally working right now,’” the singer told PEOPLE. And Vanitas of California seems to be the new go-to label for those stylish mom-to-be who want to keep shopping in their favorite stores. But that wasn’t all the singer bought for her baby. “Her receipt was a mile long!” says an observer about Aguilera, who spent more than three hours in the store with husband Jordan Bratman and a personal assistant. For Christina Aguilera’s Grammy look, makeup artist Kristofer Buckle was inspired by her pale peachy-pink Ungaro gown. “I wanted her makeup to be peaches-and-cream soft so that it didn’t upstage the pale, pretty shade of her dress,” says Buckle, who created the singer’s look in 20 minutes backstage at the Staples Center. On her eyes, he brushed Laura Mercier Mineral Eye Powder in Eclipse, a sparkly black powder, across her upper lids for a soft but still dramatic effect. He added three pairs of false lashes to further emphasize her eyes. (“Any drugstore brand works,” adds Buckler. Try Ardell, the inexpensive brand of choice for the pros.) “The idea was to give a Jayne Mansfield look to her eyes–sexy and strong, but a bit understated,” he says. On her lips, “I wanted a creamsicle color, but beigier and more monochromatic, so it wasn’t too attention-getting,” says Buckle. He mixed bright coral lipstick with creamy beige, and added a layer of MAC Lipglass in Clear on top. “Everyone is so sexed up at the Grammys, so I definitely wanted her look to make a big statement; but I did that by pulling way back. That makes a major statement, too.”

Can we even remember the days that the now flawlessly turned out singer used to arrive to award shows in chaps and multi-colored extensions? We’re pretty confident that Christina Aguilera will stick to her now-signature platinum girls and sexy siren dresses for the Grammys next week. But which dress will it be? Roberto Cavalli has designed her tour costumes, so she could easily slip into this crystal encrusted showstopper from his spring collection. If she wants to go away from the white that she wore last year, she could opt for a shimmering black gown from Fendi. But what if for a real switch-up, she went short on the red carpet? She just announced a deal with Procter 7 Gamble to create a line of her own signature scents, with a yet-to-be determined release date. Christina says of her decision to put her name on a fragrance, “I love trying new things in my music and in fashion. To have a perfume of my own is the beginning of an exciting adventure.” As if selling over 25 million albums hasn’t been keeping her busy enough! Tell us: Will you buy Christina’s perfume?

Christina Aguilera is doing some shopping… for Britney’s two baby boys! That’s right, the once-rivals are now friends. The blonde bombshell, who is on tour in Europe, started her Christmas shopping by calling co-owner Nina Takesh of celeb-fav baby boutique Petit Tresor. Christina wanted to get Sean P. and Jayden James something “adorable for colder weather” and decided on these cashmere schoolboy sweaters. She wasn’t the only one with the boys on her mind. Britney also called Takesh requesting “something matching and playful” to put under the tree for her tots and settled on two Kaloo chairs. From controversial kisses to baby gifts — these pop princesses have come a long way!

After dressing Michael Jackson for the World Music Awards, Roberto Cavalli has moved on to dressing another pop icon — Christina Aguilera. He has created ten one-of-a-kind looks for the songstress to wear on her upcoming "Back to Basics" tour, kicking off in Houston on February 20, 2007.  All the costumes will have a vintage flare, referencing everything from 1940’s-era Marlene Dietrich to 1960’s bathing suits.  This isn’t the first time that Cavalli has dressed Christina, and he explains "I am fascinated by the evolution of Christina’s musical style, as well as her personal style, which has become increasingly glamorous and sophisticated with amazing attention to detail — all values I share in my design sensibility." The sketches are beautiful, but we can’t wait to see them actually on Christina!

But, we’ve already learned that you just can’t keep a good fashionista down, painful injury or not. Brooke Burns (right) tackled her broken neck with a sense of humor and a bedazzler — check out her super sparkly neck brace at an event in Los Angeles last December. One of PEOPLE’s Best Dressed, Christina Aguilera (left) sliced two tendons in her wrist in July 2005 but still managed to be the height of style, even attending the Dior Couture show in Paris with her cast wrapped in black chiffon to compliment her sleek dress. And the ultimate fashion icon, Madonna (middle), injured her shoulder and broke several ribs after a horseback riding accident at her English country estate last year (much like Matthew Broderick’s recent injury), and dealt by blending her black sling to into all-black outfits — showing us that while bones may break, true style always stays intact.
