Get the Look: Brooke Charvet’s Chic Chignon

The season finale of Dancing with the Stars was a real nail-biter (congrats to the champ!), but one constant throughout the season was Brooke Charvet‘s perfectly coiffed hair. For Monday night’s final showdown, the hostess wore her locks in a low chignon — a classy, classic style.

So just like last week, we asked the stylists at Hotheads how to achieve her look at home. Follow these steps from stylist Sheenon Olson:

1. Create a part and brush your hair smooth. If you want some volume at the crown, spray with a light hairspray and backcomb at the roots. Then gently smooth the hair on top.

2. Gather all the hair into a low ponytail and use a hair tie, making sure the tie is secure — this is the anchor for the rest of this style.

3. Decide how you want the chignon to look. This is where you can get creative! One option is to split the ponytail into three sections, lightly backcomb each section and then braid the hair. Take the braid and wrap it around the base of the ponytail to create your chignon and secure with bobby pins.

If you want something slightly more polished, split the hair into three to five sections and start twisting one section at a time, wrapping it around the base of the ponytail. Create a symmetrical shape with the twisted pieces, and voilà. Tip: Make sure you always aim for symmetry and fullness when making a chignon.

Get the Look: Brooke Charvet’s Bright Blowout

Monday night sealed the fate of Dancing with the Stars‘s final four, but we couldn’t take our eyes off of Brooke Charvet‘s sealed cuticles, perfectly smooth and glossy.

Just like last week, we asked the stylists at Hotheads how to achieve her look at home. Follow these steps from stylist Sheenon Olson:

1. Prep your hair with a relaxer such as Unite’s Lazer Straight. Then blow-dry your hair using a paddle brush or a jumbo round brush. Be sure to turn the ends under to keep the hair straight and prevent it from flipping out.

2. If your hair is curly or frizzy, spray Oribe Soft Lacquer hairspray on your sections and blow-dry from roots to ends to smooth the cuticle down. The Lacquer also has tremendous amounts of shine.

3. Finish the style off with additional Lacquer and touch it up a bit with a flat iron to really get polish and shine. (Extensions such as Hotheads will make your blowout last longer because they don’t absorb oils from your scalp and they enhance your natural color.)

Charvet parted her hair in the middle, but for this style you can part your hair on the side, as well.

Get the Look: Brooke Charvet’s Side Braid

J.R. Martinez logged two perfect scores on Dancing with the Stars Monday night — and host Brooke Charvet‘s hair was looking pretty perfect, too, tied up in a sweet side-braid.

Just like last week, we asked the stylists at Hotheads how to achieve her look at home. Just follow these steps from stylist Sheenon Olson:

1. Start by making a ponytail on either the left or right side so that it cascades onto your shoulder.

2. Separate the ponytail into two pieces, then take a thin piece from the outside of the right and join it with the left. Reverse how you are holding the hair and switch hands, then take a thin piece from the outside of the left side and join it with the right.

3. Repeat these steps until the braid is as long as you desire, and secure with a hairband. For a more bohemian look pull the braid apart a bit (but not too much!) to give it a disheveled look.

Get the Look: Brooke Charvet’s Long Waves

When Brooke Charvet said goodbye to David Arquette on this week’s Dancing with the Stars, she did so while sporting a smile — and some seriously pretty hair. Tuesday, the hostess wore her long brunette locks in loose waves, a look we really love.

Just like last week, we asked the stylists at Hotheads how to achieve her look at home. They recommend using an iron like the Enzo Milano Conico iron, which comes with a convenient heatproof glove. And though there are several ways to emulate her waves, the easiest is to follow these steps from stylist Sheenon Olson:

Lacey Schwimmer and partner Chaz Bono succumbed to the pressure of Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night, but Brooke Charvet‘s hair was able to handle the heat — not to mention the studio lights. The hostess wore her long brunette locks curly this week, letting her tresses cascade over her left shoulder.

Just like last week, we asked the stylists at Hotheads how to achieve her look at home. There are several ways to emulate her curls, but the easiest is to follow these steps from stylist Sheenon Olson:

Get the Look: Brooke Charvet’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Pompadour

Brooke Burke Dancing with the Stars HairAdam Taylor/ABC

No one earned a perfect score on Dancing with the Stars this week (though J.R. Martinez came close), but Brooke Charvet managed another perfect hairdo on Monday night’s episode, pairing her sparkly blue Mandalay mini dress with a puffed pompadour.

Just like last week, we asked the stylists at Hotheads how to achieve her look at home. There are several ways to create a pompadour, but the easiest is to follow these steps from stylist Sheenon Olson:

1. Section the hair on top of the head in the shape of a horseshoe. Be sure to make the horseshoe large enough so that it includes the hair at parietal ridge (where the bones of the head begin to curve toward the top).

2. Using hairspray and a Mason Pearson brush, start to spray and brush the sections on the side of the head to the back. You will want to smooth down the hair as you go, using the hairspray and brush. Once you have achieved the degree of smoothness, take both sides of the hair and connect with a small rubber band.

Get the Look: Brooke Charvet’s Romantic ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Curls

Brooke Burke Dancing with the Stars HairAdam Taylor/ABC

Ricki Lake earned a near-perfect score on Monday night’s Dancing with the Stars, but it was Brooke Charvet‘s perfect hairstyle that caught our attention. The hostess wore her long locks in a Veronica Lake ’40s-inspired style, with curls falling over her shoulders.

So just like last week, we asked the stylists at Hotheads how to achieve her look at home. Just follow these steps from stylist Sheenon Olson:

1. Part your hair on the left or right side, your choice.

2. Use a wide curling iron to create barrel curls. Be sure to keep the curls intact; don’t break them apart (Charvet’s curls were “never disturbed,” Olson says). And keep you iron horizontal while styling — this will give you the cascading curls that inspired the hairstyle.
