Bid on Britney’s Dress and More Star Style Items to Benefit Haiti

On the heels of last weekend’s Hope for Haiti telethon, stars continue to rally for the relief effort, this time opening up their closets for the cause. Britney Spears will be auctioning off one of the two shimmery silver Versace dresses she wore to the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008—which might even be a good luck charm, given that was the same night she made her comeback performance after her public meltdown and took home three wins in the process. Details as to the specific dress and charity have yet to be released. And she’s not the only star who’s opening her closet to benefit the earthquake-stricken country.

–Kate Bosworth is putting the diaphanous, size-2 pleated halter dress by Chloe she wore to the Food Bank of New York City’s annual Can-Do awards gala last year up for grabs, with proceeds benefitting OxFam International’s Haiti Relief Program through the Charitybuzz Heal Haiti Charity Auction (to place a bid, visit charitybuzz.com).

–Susan Sarandon is getting in on the action by donating the sultry size-6 Dolce & Gabanna LBD she wore to the 15th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards on January 15 at charityfolks.com. Proceeds from the sale, organized by Modelinia.com and ping pong parlor SPiN New York (of which Sarandon is a co-owner), will benefit Friends of the Orphans in Haiti.

–Artists for Peace and Justice are helping Meryl Streep, Josh Brolin, Gerard Butler, Amy Poehler, and Olivia Wilde donate their outfits worn at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards through an eBay auction. Find out more details at artistsforpeaceandjustice.com.

–And while Lady Gaga is holding onto her outrageous costumes, the performance artist/pop singer is selling Lady Gaga Haiti Relief T-shirts on her website, ladygaga.shop.bravadousa.com. Since signing up to be the face of Candie’s last March, Britney Spears has starred in multiple sweet-and-sexy campaigns for the brand, which is available exclusively at Kohl’s. And now Candie’s and Kohl’s are announcing that they are renewing their exclusive partnership with the pop star, who will continue to appear in their advertisements and marketing campaigns through 2010. FIRST LOOK: Britney Spears’s New Candie’s Ads Revealed

After showing some serious skin in Candie’s spring ads, Britney Spears covers up in chic dresses and jeans for the upcoming fall campaign. And that’s not the only place you’ll see the pop superstar sporting the affordable line. Britney will even wear Candie’s in her new music video, “Radar.” “I was so excited to wear Candie’s in my ‘Radar’ video,” says Britney in a press release. “I especially loved their jeans and cute dresses which were perfect for the theme of my video.” In her new video, Britney becomes intrigued by a handsome player at a polo match who ultimately gets caught in her radar. Footage from the video will also appear in a Candie’s television commercial which will debut later this summer along with the print ads in September magazines. It’s been awhile since Britney Spears has altered her signature sunny locks. But never one to shy away from change, the pop star stepped out over the weekend showing off longer and much darker hair. While we can’t tell for sure if Britney’s new look is for real or a wig, we think going dark still works for her.
