Friday Flashback: ‘Gossip Girl’ Edition

The countdown is on: There are only three more days until the sixth and final season of Gossip Girl kicks off. And we care about one thing and one thing only: what S and B will be wearing.

In anticipation of the season premiere, we decided to take a trip down memory lane and find the looks the two leading ladies wore for the series premiere five years ago.

The very first glimpse we got of Serena van der Woodsen was when she arrived at Grand Central Terminal, returning to the city after having disappeared to boarding school (left).

Her debut look consisted of a light-brown leather jacket, a nautical striped top and dark denim. It was rather covered-up and simple compared to the high-fashion, mixed-print and downright sexy ensembles that came to be Serena’s calling card. Also of note: her hair. Gorgeous, but it’s definitely gotten shinier and more voluminous as the seasons have gone on.

And of course, we couldn’t forget about Blair Waldorf’s first outfit on the show: it was the black lace-and-sheer babydoll dress she was wearing when she found out her long-lost BFF was back in town. (Watch the below clip if you need a refresher.) The ethereal mini (designed by her TV mother, Eleanor) was finished off with what would become Queen B’s signature accessory: a headband. Six seasons later, B occasionally dons headbands, but she pairs them with getups that are far more ladies-who-lunch.

Blake Lively ‘Looked Very Natural’ on Her Wedding Day

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds opted for an intimate, rustic wedding in Charleston last Sunday — and the bride’s look echoed that vibe.

“She looked very natural,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Her hair was mostly down, but some of it was swept up. She didn’t wear a veil. She wore natural makeup; her skin was flawless. It was a clean look, very fresh.”

Lively selected a custom Marchesa ball gown for her big day, pairing the embroidered silk tulle creation with Christian Louboutin shoes (the designer is a close friend of the actress). “Her dress was simple yet beautiful, slightly off-white, no big bows, no train,” the source adds.

Her jewels were equally understated. “She didn’t wear anything gaudy; no big jewelry,” the source continues. “She had small earrings, and I believe a very delicate necklace, but nothing really prominent.”

After saying their vows, with a promise to “support and love each other and to make each other laugh,” the couple exchanged rings by celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz.

Greeting family and friends after the ceremony, held at the historic Boone Hall Plantation, the young bride truly did glow. According to the source, “She looked wonderful.” For more on Lively and Reynolds’s wedding, pick up the latest issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands now.

See Blake Lively’s Wedding Ring!

Ryan Reynolds didn’t just put a ring on it — he put a very big ring on it! The morning after his surprise Sept. 9 nuptials, the actor was snapped in Charleston smooching his blushing bride, Blake Lively, and we got a glimpse of the engagement ring no one knew about — and the actress’s brand-new wedding band.

Lively’s engagement ring, by celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, features a large center stone supported by a band of small diamonds. “Ryan chose Lorraine Schwartz to help him find a flawless, light pink oval diamond,” a spokesperson for the jeweler says. “They worked together to design a custom setting in rose gold and pave diamonds with a nod to deco.” Her rose gold wedding ring, also by Schwartz, boasts a series of delicate diamonds, and complements her engagement sparkler well.

Reynolds and Lively tied the knot in an intimate ceremony last weekend at Charleston’s historic Boone Hall Plantation, where they vowed “to support and love each other and to make each other laugh.” The stars were first photographed out as a couple in October of 2011, not long after the premiere of their film, Green Lantern. Tell us: Do you like Lively’s rings? Are they what you imagined?

Blake Lively Reveals Her Beauty Secret Weapon

Sep/07/2012 at 12:00 PM ET

We assume Ryan Reynolds fell for Blake Lively because, well, what guy wouldn’t? But maybe her favorite beauty trick helped seal the deal: “[A scent] is a weapon, if you choose to use it,” Lively tells Elle.com. “If you want someone to miss you, go secretly and spray your fragrance somewhere. You can say, ‘Oh really, it came off? I didn’t even realize it got on your sweatshirt …’”

Lively chatted with the site about her new role as the face of the women’s fragrance Gucci Première. “[Première] isn’t about being couture in an elite sense, it’s about a woman in her finest, most realized form, feeling her best,” she explains. “And that can be at any time — even just going to the grocery store. You should always feel like the world is at your fingertips in some backless, sparkly number.”

Watch Blake Lively’s Sexy New Gucci Commericial

Sep/04/2012 at 12:45 PM ET

It’s a commercial so big it required its own Venice Film Festival premiere … but you get to see it from the comfort of your computer chair.

The director’s cut of Blake Lively‘s gorgeous Gucci Première women’s fragrance commercial is finally here, expanding on the 30-second teaser the brand released earlier this summer. This time around, we see a little more of Lively — poured into a long-sleeve, backless gold gown — strutting around a hilltop mansion while spritzing the scent. We watch her work a ruffled number with a super-high slit while model-walking through the desert, too.

Essentially, it’s Lively looking amazing for a longer amount of time — and we’re not complaining. Tell us: What do you think of Lively’s first fragrance campaign?

Blair Waldorf’s Stunning Season Six ‘Gossip Girl’ Wardrobe

Watch out S, it looks like B is trying to beat you in the wardrobe department for the final season of Gossip Girl.

Leighton Meester‘s character, Blair Waldorf, has always had a closet full of enviable designer clothes, but it was Blake Lively‘s Serena van der Woodsen who stole the spotlight with her sexy style. And while we’ve already professed our love for what Serena will be sporting in season six, Blair’s classic ladies-who-lunch looks are so beyond chic that they’re making us question who will leave the Upper East Side reigning as the best dressed.

On Wednesday while filming in New York City, the actress was snapped in a rose-printed knee-length frock teamed with a tweed cream jacket, a Valentino purse and magenta Rupert Sanderson pumps. And a day earlier while shooting on the show’s infamous Met steps, she wore a deep blue printed number, a gold-trimmed black coat and her favorite accessory: a headband.
