She’s taken two nights off from new mommyhood this week to support hubby Jay-Z, but Beyoncé needn’t look further than her fingernails to be reminded of the new girl running the world these days: daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

“You see the blue nails. You see the IV tattoo on her finger. It’s clear that she was bringing Blue along with her because she doesn’t want to be away from her for a second,” Beyoncé’s longtime manicurist, Lisa Logan, tells PEOPLE of her Monday manicure.

Logan, who painted the singer’s fingernails with Nails Inc.’s new “Baker Street” polish (the star accented the look with a two-finger ring by Bing Bang for WeSC), says the whole experience felt serendipitous. “I don’t roll with less than 200 bottles of polish on any given day,” she explains. “When I pulled all of my colors out, [Baker Street] and two other colors were sitting at the top of the pile, and [Beyoncé] said, ‘I want this!’ She didn’t even look or blink at the other colors. She was like, ‘Oh no, I want this,’” Logan recalls. “Ironically, when I came in, the first thing she asked me for was Minx. I always have Minx nails, [but] this was the one day I didn’t have them on me!”

So how is the newly manicured mom adjusting to motherhood? “Amazingly,” Logan says. “When I see her, I’m like, ‘Girl, you’re glowing.’ She’s so elated. Motherhood is written all over her face. She’s owning it and wearing it well.”

Whether she’s glammed up on the red carpet or dressed down for a shopping trip, one of Beyoncé‘s most enviable accessories is her glowing, luminous skin. So what’s the mommy-to-be‘s secret to beauty?

“She’s ahead of the game and willing to try new things,” her longtime makeup artist Mally Roncal (left) tells PEOPLE. “What’s old is new again with her. She’s so experimental and is such a true artist.”

And now that Beyoncé is pregnant with her first child, Roncal, who most recently did the singer’s make-up with the Mally “My Favorite Things” kit (available on QVC.com) for her 20/20 interview, plays up her natural glow. “She’s the most beautiful pregnant person I’ve ever seen in my life,” the makeup artist shares. “[On 20/20] she really just wanted to look healthy, glowy and natural but with that hint of glamour.”

To get Beyoncé’s glam but understated 20/20 look, use the kit’s “Firework” eye shadow all over the lids, followed by the “Twilight” eye shadow in the crease of the eyes and the “Purple Rain” eye shadow across the lash line.

“I like to play with color on her to add interest and draw attention to her eyes,” Roncal says. “But the key is to always blend properly so that you don’t see any harsh lines. That really adds to the healthy glow of the skin.”

The makeup artist also used two different eyeliners on Beyoncé, and finished the look with the “Fuzzy Navel” lip gloss. “It’s this gorgeous, soft peach [color],” Roncal explains, “and not only did [Beyoncé] go crazy but Katie Couric was like, ‘Oh my god, I have to have it!’”

Her 2008 wedding to now-husband Jay-Z was a closely guarded secret, but Beyoncé is revealing a glimpse of the big day — a two-second glimpse — in her new video for the emotional single “I Was Here.”

Toward the end of the four-and-a-half-minute clip, which appears on vevo.com, the singer shares brief front and back shots of her flowing white wedding dress, which has never been seen publicly. The exaggerated sweetheart gown appears to have an elaborate fitted back with layers of fine fabric and a long train.

The rest of the video features major moments in Beyoncé’s life: meeting luminaries such as Nelson Mandela, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson and Oprah Winfrey; performing as a youngster and later as a member of Destiny’s Child; joining Jay-Z on stage in concert; and revealing her baby bump at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. She sings, “I wanna say I lived each day until I die,” and from the looks of this video, so far, she definitely has.

VOTE ON STARS’ GORGEOUS GOWNS IN ‘LAST NIGHT’S LOOK: HIT OR MISS?’

When Rihanna went in search of jewelry to wear in her new “We Found Love” video, the singer looked no further than Bijules, an edgy line by aptly named Manhattan-based designer Jules Kim. Having added sparkle to ensembles worn by Beyoncé, Fergie, Mary J. Blige and Kim Kardashian — to name a few — Kim has become a go-to gal for celebrities looking to spice up an outfit.

Rihanna first wore Bijules in her stark “Umbrella” video, Kim tells PEOPLE. But for “We Found Love,” the designer “was really pushing mixing styles with different directions and metals,” she says. (Two of her rings can be seen when the singer takes a spin around 2:55.)

When providing jewelry for Beyoncé’s “Sweet Dreams” video, Kim placed a set of spiky gold, diamond and ruby nail rings on the singer. “I love to make creative and fun packaging,” she adds. “So I stuffed the nails into a cute plush puppet bunny rabbit that was delivered [to buyers] around Easter.”

Deeming her designs “original-concept fine jewelry,” Kim finds inspiration in pushing boundaries and redefining fashion standards. “What was once a ring is now a classic bar ring,” she explains of her innovations, adding, “I make jewelry for undiscovered parts of the human body and I make it popular.”

When mom-to-be Beyoncé was considering dresses for her big reveal at the MTV Video Music awards, she went through nearly 70 gowns. “I was extremely nervous,” she admits in the November issue of Harper’s Bazaar. “It was the toughest red carpet I ever did.”

Finally settling on a flowing orange Lanvin caftan, she greeted photographers with confidence — showcasing her growing belly without a word. “I didn’t want a crazy picture or gossip story to break the news, so I decided to say nothing and proudly show my baby bump,” she says. “I felt it was more powerful to see the love and enthusiasm as opposed to saying anything.”

Since then, she’s said a lot — discussing her marriage and her future child more than ever before — but she still remains focused on work, and of course, fashion. “All I see now are clothes that are flattering on a pregnant woman,” she says. “It’s been so exciting for me! I love figuring out designs that still make me feel edgy and sexy while pregnant.” To that end, she says she’s working on a maternity collection for her House of Deréon line — and still wears her stilettos, despite being five-months pregnant.

Counting Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Gisele Bündchen among her fashion icons, Beyoncé says she’s “had so much fun with fashion over the months.” And apparently she’s had fun with shopping, too; she admits she spends “too much money shopping on the Internet.”

Not that the superstar has to shop: a number of designers sing her praises in the Harper’s Bazaar piece (she wears Ferragamo on the cover), including Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci. “Givenchy is made for Beyoncé,” he says. “I cannot wait for her to give birth for two reasons. First, because I love her and Jay-Z — they are so happy together — and second, because I want to have goose bumps when I see her back in Givenchy.”

When Beyoncé bleeds, she succeeds. The singer cut her feet on her spiky Louboutin heels while filming the campaign for her latest fragrance, Pulse, but instead of taking it as a bad omen, the mom-to-be embraced it as a good sign.

“Every time I hurt myself and I have to put a Band-Aid [on] I know that [the] work and the pain pays off,” she told the crowd at her fragrance launch party in New York Wednesday night, explaining that after many a video shoot she’s come home with bruised knees and bloody feet. “So Pulse is going to be as successful, let us pray.”

The superstar, who mingled with husband Jay-Z, mom Tina Knowles and V.I.P. guests like Jessica White, called the creation of Pulse an “incredible experience. I’ve been working on Pulse for such a long time, it’s amazing for me to see it finally brought to life.”

Inspired by her alter ego, Sasha Fierce, the scent is about “something that happens when I get on the stage,” Beyoncé said. “I don’t know if it’s the pulse that races before and transforms me, but I believe we all have that inside of us and I wanted to bring out something in every woman that makes them feel confident and makes them feel like they have all of the men’s pulses racing as they walk by.”

Beyoncé weighed in on the design of the bottle, too; its chrome cap was inspired by some of her tour costumes, as well as childhood memories. “I remember being a little girl and seeing my mother’s dresser, because she had all these beautiful antique bottles, so I’m always thinking about what a woman would want to display,” she said. “I feel like [with Pulse], every woman will have their own little sculpture and piece of art.”

Beyoncé and mom Tina Knowles made their hotly anticipated London Fashion Week debut on Saturday night, presenting their House of Deréon autumn/winter 2011 collection inside a decorated car park at London’s Selfridges department store.

“It’s been such a great journey,” the expectant star told reporters in the clip below. ”We’ve been working so hard on this. It is a dream come true.”

Inspired by Beyoncé’s extensive travels, the “Global Nomad”-themed collection was an exotic and glamorous clash of cultures. From tribal Aztec-print dresses with feather headpieces to a flamenco frilled dress, the looks were set off with warrior-style gold face paint and embellished turbans.

Models strutted to the singer’s recent single, “Run the World (Girls),” and front row guests including Rosario Dawson and British singer Ellie Goulding applauded the mother-daughter designing duo, who walked the runway hand-in-hand at the end of the show.

Tina, who launched Deréon in 2004, told Selfridges that the line was inspired in part by her daughter’s style. “Beyoncé gets to travel all around the world and bring back beautiful fashions and trends,” she said. “And she tells us what’s going on, what’s new, and what’s just around the corner. We depend on her a lot — we raid her closet!”

Beyoncé added that she was excited to introduce her line to the U.K. (it’s available now exclusively at Selfridges) because “the women here are so stylish and beautiful. They’re a little more experimental [with fashion].”

But according to the singer, who admitted to coveting Kate Moss‘s sense of style, anyone can work the clothes in her mother’s line. “[She's a] trendsetter,” she said of the Deréon girl. “Someone who is very sexy and confident and bold, and wants to make a statement.”

After the runway show, Beyoncé hightailed it to Under the Bridge, a music venue underneath the Stamford Bridge football stadium in London’s posh Chelsea neighborhood. She settled into the V.I.P. area with Tina, as deejay duo the Nightcrashers spun some of her hits until 2 a.m. (the singer left around midnight).

While the fashion crowd enjoyed endless canapés and Laurent-Perrier rose champagne, Beyoncé stuck to water, giggling with friends and dancing in her seat whenever a Michael Jackson tune played. Baby bumps, Britney tributes and Bruno bashing — oh my! The MTV Video Music Awards were filled with many buzz-worthy moments last night, but the style choices of several stars gave us just as much to talk about.

Lady Gaga started the two-hour show as her male alter ego, Jo Calderone, wearing Brooks Brothers pants, a men’s jacket, little makeup and a short black wig. She convincingly stayed in character (and costume) all night, even hitting on Britney Spears while presenting her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj hit the black carpet in a jagged bodysuit accessorized with plush creatures, knee-highs and lots of colorful hair. “Tokyo inspired this outfit,” she told reporters during the show. “Harajuku is something I have been absorbing for a long time.”

Though Justin Bieber one-upped her in the shock-value department — he brought his pet snake, Johnson, along for the ride — his accessories were slightly more demure; namely, his DITA Senator glasses. “I was just going for something fun and youthful and not too put together,” he told reporters. “Something that would go good with the cheetah shoes.”

But Beyoncé‘s accessory was the best of all: she debuted her baby bump in a flowing orange Lanvin gown, later revealing it for the television crowds in a Dolce & Gabbana tux following her performance of “Love on Top.”

It was Katy Perry, though, who became the night’s quick-change artist, starting out in an Atelier Versace geisha-style mini-dress, complete with parasol. To introduce Adele, the big nominee slipped into a long, high-necked purple gown, a departure from her usually revealing wardrobe. She ended the night in Dior Couture, sporting a pink top paired with a black-and-white tulip-shaped skirt and yellow cube-shaped hat, but not before looking like a broken record — literally! — in a sparkly black dress accented with vinyl bearing her name.

“I just felt like being colorful and fun and with me, I am okay with self-deprecation,” Perry told reporters. “I am all right with being laughed at and laughed with and just laughing, so that was the inspiration of tonight: just to have a laugh.”

She may be running the world, but even Beyoncé relies on some beauty basics to keep her looking gorgeous around the clock.

“I really do try my best to take care of my skin,” she tells InStyle. “Like most women, I sometimes forget to wash the makeup off before going to sleep, but you pay for that mistake.” To fix that occasional faux pas? “I drink a lot of water and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize,” she says.

When it comes to styling her curls, the singer is all about simplicity. “My favorite is still a high ponytail,” she says. “It’s clean and classic.” Though that’s not to say she hasn’t experimented with other dos, too. “I’m not going to tell you the numerous hairstyles I’ll never try again because I know you will look up the photos,” she jokes.

However, it might be more surprising to hear that the fashionista has an affinity for the most basic of clothing items: T-shirts. “I can never have enough,” she admits, adding, “My favorite is a simple white tee.” There is one not-so-plain item she’s rarely seen without, though — her sky-high heels — but Beyoncé says that at the end of every day, her weary feet catch a break. She shares, “When I get home, the first thing I do is take off my stilettos!”

She’s rocked knee-high Sergio Rossi gladiator boots and even a white feather-laden Givenchy Haute Couture gown, but when it comes to fashion, Beyoncé is no label snob. The singer is sporting some up-and-coming designers in the artwork for her latest album, 4 — but there’s nothing under the radar about these outfits. On the album’s fold-out cover, the star wears a fox-fur stole by the cult French designer Alexandre Vauthier embellished with Swarovski crystals by the Lesage embroidery house. Inside the fold, she sports “Daisy Duke” shorts by young French designer Julien Fournié and a lemon-yellow mini-dress by fashion student Leah Rae. And for the deluxe cover (above), Beyoncé chose a purple-and-black beaded dress by French designer Maxime Simoens — who’s just 27 years old. “It was important to Beyoncé that the choice of clothing not be about the brand but about the quality of the work,” Knowles’s creative director, Jenke-Ahmed Tailly, tells the New York Times. “The album is a musical gumbo of everything Beyoncé likes. Each song really has a different personality, so we decided to do the cover like an editorial for a magazine, with each song having its own style.” But she’s not the only one in her family taking notice of budding talent. For her headlining gig at the Glastonbury Festival in England last month, the singer wore another Vauthier creation, a gold mini-dress, which the designer says was a last-minute suggestion by her husband, Jay-Z. Who run the world? Curls! It seems that Beyoncé left the flatiron at home when she visited Europe this week, instead choosing to let her curls coil freely. The singing star got the show going at the Glastonbury music festival in England Sunday, sparkling in a sexy Alexandre Vauthier mini, her hair blowing in the breeze. For a trip to Harrods Monday, she slipped into a curve-hugging tangerine peplum sheath and pumped up the volume in her locks. Then Tuesday, Beyoncé shimmered during a visit to Paris to perform on the X-Factor, her curls falling gently on her shoulders. We haven’t seen Beyoncé go so au naturel in a while — but we have to say we like it! What do you think?

Is your heart racing yet? Beyoncé‘s latest fragrance, Pulse, hits stores in September, and the sexy, just-released ad already has our pulses beating faster. The seductive scent — a follow-up to the singer’s perfumes Heat and Heat Rush — features notes of pear blossom, peony, midnight blooming jasmine, Madagascar vanilla and for the first time in a fragrance, bluebird orchid. “Pulse is a fragrance you can wear all the time,” Beyoncé tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I love the idea of a signature scent that lets a woman leave her mark wherever she goes, so I always try to make my scents appropriate for any occasion.” The fragrance comes in an upside-down chrome-and-blue bottle, neatly tucked into a holographic carton. The bottle’s topper, a chrome cap, was inspired by her stage costumes. “I love [that] because it incorporates fashion into the overall design,” Beyoncé said in a statement. The print ad was photographed by Lionel Gasperini, and the TV commercial was shot by Jake Nava, who directed the singer’s “Single Ladies” video and her oh-so-sexy Heat commercial.
