Is Lady Gaga abandoning her wacky fashion sense? No, thankfully, but for her video collaboration with Beyoncé, the zany dresser channeled the sexy and sleek style of the R&B pop princess — so well, she was nicknamed “Gee-yoncé” during the making of the video. Paparazzi photos from the “Video Phone” shoot show Gaga in an outfit that looks in line with Beyoncé’s sleeker style — a white strapless leotard, matching opera gloves and long, flowing hair. “When I was doing her video with her, she called me, and she said, ‘What do you want to do?’” Gaga revealed in an interview with New York’s Z100 radio station on Tuesday morning. “And I’m like, ‘I don’t want to show up in some frickin’ hair bow and be fashion Gaga in your video.’ I said, ‘I want to do you.’” In the same interview, Gaga said she just wanted to “do my version of Beyoncé, so the whole time I was learning the choreography they were calling me Gee-yoncé.” “Video Phone” is Beyoncé’s next single from the album “I Am…Sasha Fierce.” Gaga also mentioned that she and Beyoncé are working on music together, but did not elaborate on the details. For her first U.S. tour, it looks like international superstar Kylie Minogue will be taking fashion cues from American music’s leading ladies. With couture costumes designed by Jean Paul Gaultier — the same designer responsible for Lady Gaga’s outrageous VMA looks — Kylie will hit the stage sporting glittering bodysuits and long, sequined trenches identical to these sketches by the designer. As the night’s fashion correspondent for MTV, Ashley Greene got to turn a critical eye on her fellow fashionistas. The New Moon star puts Beyonce, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift on her best dressed list. “In a night where silver, gold and black metallic minis ruled the red carpet, Beyonce stood out in her short red plunging [Roberto Cavalli] mini dress,” Ashley tells PEOPLE. “It was so sexy, yet completely tasteful at the same time.” And while many starlets went for sparkle, it was all about Katy’s mini by The Blonds for Ashley. “There were a lot of sparkly mini dresses, but Katy’s was my favorite,” she says.”The spikes rocked it up a bit and the fit was incredible on her body.” As for Taylor, Ashley admired her for channeling her inner princess. “Taylor looked stunning in her floor-length [Kaufman Franco] gown. I loved that she was one of the few who chose to wear a long dress — she looked straight out of a fairytale,” says Ashley. And, of course, Ashley loved her hunky New Moon co-star Taylor Lautner who walked the red carpet in a sleek Calvin Klein Collection suit. “He looked so handsome in his suit and I’m pretty sure all the fans agreed!” We definitely do! Competition in the celebrity fragrance market just got a little fiercer. WWD reports that Beyonce has officially signed a deal with Coty Inc. — the same company who is responsible for Halle Berry, Sarah Jessica Paker and Gwen Stefani’s scents — to produce her own perfume. “For me, fragrance reflects a woman’s attitude and unique sense of style,” Beyonce told WWD. “While I love various perfumes, I haven’t found a scent that truly personifies me as a woman. Working with Coty, I was able to turn my ideal fragrance into a reality by creating an alluring and sophisticated fragrance; one that’s reflective of my inner power.” And while this is Beyonce’s first shot at creating a scent, the superstar singer has fronted fragrance campaigns such as Tommy Hillfiger’s True Star in 2004 and Emporio Armani’s Diamonds fragrance in 2007. No details on what her scent will smell like, but Beyonce’s fragrance is set to hit stores this spring. We can’t wait to smell it — and see the ad campaign! Look out, Beyonce! Another Hollywood A-lister is a big fan of your man — or at least the way he smells. On a recent call with her best friend Gayle King on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Oprah Radio, Oprah Winfrey dished about her favorite mogul. “Jay-Z is my new best friend!” the talk show host said to Gayle while discussing her recent two-hour interview with him for her magazine, O. Admitting that she’s not a huge fan of his music, Oprah does reveal what about him does have her hooked. “He was so charming and delightful — and he smelled so good,” she says. “It’s the kind of thing where you hug a guy and the scent is sort of buried in them,” she explains. “When we went to the second location I could still smell him on me it was like, ‘oh my, this is wonderful!’” Jay has reason to take scent seriously. In addition to heading up music labels, a club, a sports team and the Rocawear clothing line, Jay-Z is also a perfumer, having already produced the scent Rocawear 9 IX. And next month Oprah — and all Jay-Z fans — will have even more reason to celebrate when he launches X Rocawear fragrance in celebration of the label’s 10th anniversary. America’s high schools are about to get a lot more stylish come fall. In partnership with her mom Tina Knowles and their existing design label House of Dereon, Beyonce plans to launch her junior apparel label, Sasha Fierce for Dereon just in time for back-to-school, reports WWD. The brand’s name, of course, plays off the singer’s on-stage alter ego, and will encompass everything from sportswear to shoes, jewelry and eyewear. And while the main collection includes more simple staple pieces, like a one-shoulder dress, a bodysuit, jackets and jeans, the collection’s accessories, Tina reveals, “are really over the top.” Tell us: Are you looking forward to Beyonce’s “Fierce” line this fall?

A handful of lucky Beyonce fans will be getting a stylish extra during her upcoming world tour. From her collection of outrageous shoes to her bevy of designer bags, Beyonce clearly loves fashion — but don’t call her obsessed just yet. “I don’t know if I’m fashion obsessed,” she tells Britain’s Mirror. The singer, who also helps mom Tina Knowles design their House of Dereon collection, gets a bit more fashion conscious while working, but for her day-to-day life, she goes casual. “When I’m at home I usually wear the same thing every day. I have my straight-leg jeans and a pair of Christian Louboutins and a little jacket and a white shirt,” says Beyonce. And what about all those “it” bags? “I get sent about 15 designer bags a month. I can only imagine how much they cost. Even I wouldn’t buy some of them,” she admits. Lucky girl! Wearing one glove may be a trend that Michael Jackson launched back in the ’80s, but it looks like Beyonce is putting her own twist on the look. Since launching her “Single Ladies” video last month, the R&B star has been wearing the custom-made titanium Lorraine Schwartz mechanical glove on- and off-stage as her alter ego “Sasha Fierce.” Though the glove is a “fierce” on-stage prop, we aren’t sure it translates into red carpet fabulous. Beyonce Knowles is known for her glamorous wardrobe choice, tending to glittering gowns, curve-hugging minis and elegant creations from Armani for her many red carpet events. Which is why we did a double take when the singer turned up at the MTV Europe Awards in not one, but two dresses from notoriously edgy British designer Gareth Pugh. Beyonce’s stylist Ty Hunter tells PEOPLE, “Gareth Pugh’s work is explosive and she had to wear it. She thinks he is an amazing talent.” The young Brit is a master of dark, almost-goth looks with incredible architectural details. Beyonce’s performance dress, which is made of elastic bands and rows and rows of YKK zippers, first appeared on the designer’s Fall 2008 runway with matching leggings that Knowles wisely skipped. Pugh himself tells PEOPLE, “I’m delighted she wore my dresses, she looked fantastic.” We agree, and we love that Beyonce is supporting up-and-coming young designers while trying out cool, new looks. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aren’t the star designers to try their hand at a jewelry line these days. Beyonce and mom Tina Knowles are adding a jewelry line to their already-successful brand House of Dereon. The mother-daughter design team have partnered with jewelry company Carolee, who also produces jewelry for Lauren by Ralph Lauren, ABS by Allen Schwartz and Brooks Brothers, to create a complete collection of jewels consisting of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings. All the pieces will incorporate various metals, man-made pearls, crystals and more. “I am so passionate about jewelry. As both a designer and a stylist, I know the important role jewelry plays in completing your total look, ” Tina Knowles said in a released statement. What’s better, the line will be completely affordable, with prices ranging from $16- $68. Cosmetics company L’Oreal denied that it lightened Beyonce’s skin tone for an ad — after gossip-site tmz.com posted comparison pictures of Knowles promoting Feria looking noticably paler and lighter than usual. “We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L’Oreal Paris altered Ms. Knowles’ features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair color,” the Paris-based company said in a statement to the Associated Press. The singer turned up for the Grammy Awards with a short and soft do to go with her sparkling Elie Saab couture gown. Beyonce ditched her usual big hair and darker locks for a more natural glow. Her hairstylist Kimberly Kimble tells PEOPLE “It was Debbie Harry meets Beyonce tonight. We wanted to do something different for her performance with Tina Turner, so I gave her an A-line cut, a bit shorter in the back, longer in the front. I kept it darker in the back and framed her face with thicker cool blonde highlights.” We’re hoping that Beyonce keeps this look long past the Grammy Awards — we’re loving it. But we can’t help but wonder if her over-abundance of curls overshadowed her flawless face. It’s refreshing to see her with a new ‘do but this hair might be a little too out there. At Sunday night’s American Music Awards, Beyonce joined country music stars Sugarland onstage for a remix to her song “Irreplaceable” wearing some pretty unbelievable shoes. The ‘Closed Front Cage Sandals’ by Balenciaga go for $4,175 and feature a sneaker-like construction of red, yellow, green, and blue colors (and are available in all black). She’s not the first star to notice them, either. Last month, Kanye West even blogged about the shoes — giving them “The Illest Shoe Award”. They may be attention-getting, but we can’t help but be suprised that Beyonce would break with her normally classic style and pair these cutting edge heels with her J Brand jeans and patent jacket designed by mom Tina Knowles.
