Why Avril Lavigne Can Do Her Nails on a Plane — Without Bugging Passengers

We’ve heard many complaints about women painting nails on airplanes (blech), but Avril Lavigne has her very own solution: self-designed Sally Hansen nail polish strips.
“It’s real nail polish,” she explains to PEOPLE. “But I don’t have the time or patience to sit down and get my nails done. These take me like five minutes to put on. In the car, I’m always doing it, on the plane putting them on. And you can take them off with nail polish remover. It’s easy.”
Lavigne teamed up with the beauty brand to create 12 bold options, each with a rocker-themed name like “Crowd Surfer” or “In the SPOT-light.” “These patterns are reflective of my style — my favorite colors and patterns,” Lavigne says, singling out the skull-and-crossbones-adorned “Headbanger” and leopard-print “Purr-fect Harmony.” “They’re rock ‘n’ roll.”
