She’s helped teens dress for prom, and now, she’ll be helping them dress for everyday life! Jessica Simpson is teaming up with little sis Ashlee to create a line of tween apparel as part of the Jessica Simpson Collection, according to WWD. The new products, available in stores in fall, will be geared to the fashion-forward tween and will feature sportswear, denim and activewear styled after Simpson’s “girly, playful attitude,” the trade mag reports. Knit tops, hoodies, pullovers, striped shrunken knits, graphic T-shirts, drawstring pants, footwear and outerwear will all be part of the collection, with both Jessica and Ashlee serving as co-creative directors for the line.
”Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand,” Jessica tells WWD. “I’m excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today’s tweens.”
Ashlee, who has always been a big supporter of her big sis’s empire, agrees. “My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion.” This marks the first time the sisters are collaborating on a fashion venture. It looks like Pete Wentz is kicking off 2011 with a wild new look. The usually coiffed singer stepped out on Monday rocking his natural curls during a press preview of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. He once told PEOPLE that doing his hair is no piece of cake, so it’s no surprise he needed a little break from the constant styling. “Here’s the thing about hair; I think most people think that I have Lego hair, like I can just take it on and off in one piece, and that’s not quite the case — although pretty close,” he said, adding “I refer to this [phenomenon] as Lego hair, when people think that about me.” Perhaps Pete’s change was inspired by wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, who recently debuted a new do as well. Pete Wentz sure doesn’t hold back when it comes to praising his love for Ashlee Simpson-Wentz. First, he revealed her new pixie cut via Twitter, and now the Fall Out Boy is elaborating on her sun-bleached look. “I love her haircut and I think that one of the things that she has going for her as far as hair is that she can wear her hair any style, any color,” he told PEOPLE at the VH-1 Save the Music Gala in New York on Monday. And if you sense a little jealousy in Pete, you’re on the right track. “If I bleached my hair, all of a sudden I look like Charlie Brown,” he joked. “My wife is the hottest woman I know, so it’s rad.” Although it may seem like the 31-year-old musician’s admiration for his wife’s look is biased, his signature jet black spiked hair and rock star clad hoodies and bomber jackets give him the right to dish style advice. And while he does love Ashlee’s drastic beauty switch up, her body part that’s most sacred to him is a little more permanent–and!–a little bit Twilight. “Her neck’s one of my favorite parts of her body. What do Michelle Williams and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz have in common besides being the mom of an adorable child, past starring roles on the WB network and stunning good looks? Platinum blonde pixie cuts! After running around Hollywood with long ombre hair for quite a while, her husband Pete Wentz took to his Twitter account on Sunday to report that Ashlee had chopped and dyed her hair, marking a major beauty change up. “Ashlee Simpson-Wentz (@ashsimpsonwentz) new blonde pixie haircut is cute. Ill try and sneak a pic to post,” he wrote. Making good on his word Tuesday, Wentz posted a picture of Ashlee and their son Bronx, who now have matching white-blonde hair. “Yah fam headed out tonight stoked! Cute hair mama!” he Tweeted. And although Ashlee has frequently changed up her style in the past–switching between all shades of red, blonde and brown–we can’t decide which look we like best.
