The dresses Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli sent down the runway in Paris Wednesday were fit for a high-fashion bride: feminine florals ruled, there were lacey accents galore and more than half of the ladylike frocks were white. With a little finessing, a veil and a bouquet, we could easily see some of the haute couture gowns walking down an aisle.

Though she wasn’t there, we do wonder: was Anne Hathaway paying attention? The bride-to-be is quite close to Valentino, who, while retired, still has influence in the fashion world, and even spoke out about her potential wedding gown recently. “I would do my best creation for her,” he told PEOPLE in December. “She’s a lovely person. She wears the clothes very, very well. So I would do something special … but I cannot say exactly which type of dress.”

The final look of the show, seen at left, was particularly bridal, with a flowing skirt, airy sleeves and floral detail. “It should be interesting,” Hathaway’s stylist Rachel Zoe told PEOPLE of helping her client find a dress. “She’s so young and such a romantic. It will be a fashion ‘moment’ whatever she decides.”

Thanks to her star-studded client list, Rachel Zoe has “too many” favorite red carpet moments to count. But a handful of breathtaking dresses do stand out in the celebrity stylist’s mind.

“I think Anne Hathaway has had a few winners,” she told PEOPLE at the W Magazine Best Performances Issue party in West Hollywood recently. “Her Armani Privé last year for the Globes (left) is one of my favorites.”

Though she dressed Hathaway in a stunning seven looks for the 2011 Oscars, Zoe said the Globes gown resonated with her “because it was super-glamorous in a very kind of vintage Hollywood way, but also extremely modern, and I loved that.”

Aside from her “Annie,” Zoe said Cameron Diaz and Kate Hudson have “had too many great moments to name.” But that could be because she had a hand in their styling. “I’m biased toward my clients,” she joked. Tell us: Which stars do you love to see on the red carpet?

From blushing bride-to-be to mega-watt model, Anne Hathaway is wearing many hats lately! The actress brings her best face to the TOD’s Signature Collection spring campaign, promoting a line of Italian bags and small leather goods that hit TOD’s boutiques in October.

Shot in London last year by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (they did her fall campaign, too), the ads will bow in the weeks ahead, appearing in fashion magazines worldwide. “The campaign for TOD’s Signature reaches out to a new and younger clientele,” creative director Fabien Baron said in a release, adding that Hathaway was the right woman for the job. “We see a stunningly exquisite Anne as a classic beauty with a modern Italian edge — feminine and strong.”

Hathaway, for her part, is honored to be associated with the brand. “I have been a longtime fan of TOD’s and was very excited to be a part of exploring a new side of their identity with the launch of their Signature Collection,” she added. “The designs are classic and the materials are of the highest quality.”

Since getting engaged to longtime love Adam Shulman in November, Anne Hathaway has been pretty good at keeping her gorgeous engagement ring out of the spotlight. But at the premiere of The Iron Lady in New York on Tuesday, the actress’s sparkler nearly stole the show — and we finally got a decent look at the goods.

Hathaway’s emerald-cut ring, set on a thin diamond-studded band, was designed in part by Kwiat jewelers, whose diamonds are certified conflict-free. “Adam did work with us to design a ring that he knew Anne would love,” owner Greg Kwiat told PEOPLE at the time of the engagement. “He had a very strong vision for what he knew Anne would love.”

Shulman’s expertise was probably welcomed by Kwiat; as it turns out, the part-time actor is also a jewelry designer. In conjunction with business partner Heidi Nahser Fink, Shulman owns James Banks Designs, a small company that offers  handcrafted light bulb pendants and whimsical butterfly necklaces. Will Anne Hathaway wear a Valentino gown on her wedding day? The young star of The Devil Wears Prada is notoriously close with designer Valentino Garavani, so while she called in sick to the opening-night party of his Virtual Museum in New York on Wednesday night, that didn’t stop other guests from speculating on what she might wear when she weds fiancé Adam Shulman.

Stylist Rachel Zoe, who’s worked with Hathaway for nearly seven years, indicated that choosing a wedding dress designer might be difficult for the actress. “But it should be interesting,” she continued. “She’s so young and such a romantic. It will be a fashion ‘moment’ whatever she decides.”

When asked about aesthetic, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman said she wasn’t sure she’d go for a Princess Bride moment if asked to create the gown. “I’d have to talk to Annie and see what she would like,” she said, because according to Chapman, it’s all about what the bride wants. “They all come up with very different ideas, and that’s what’s wonderful about designing a wedding dress,” she shared. “Everyone has a different opinion. I’d listen to my bride.”

But if, in fact, Hathaway asked Valentino to design her wedding dress, what would he do? “I am so happy for Anne. And I would do my best creation for her,” he shared. “She’s a lovely person. She wears the clothes very, very well. So I would do something special … but I cannot say exactly which type of dress.”

Valentino fan Claire Danes, joined at the bash by husband Hugh Dancy, chose not to discuss gowns (she married two years ago in Narciso Rodriguez), but instead, offered a little first-person advice to the bride-to-be. “Take a sleeping pill the night before the wedding,” she suggested strongly. “Because I could not sleep. Nobody can sleep. You’re so ‘adrenalized.’ So get a little help.

In the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Anne Hathaway worries she’s revealed too much of her “inner nerd.” Talking about big books over a pedicure and vegan meal, she shares her love of the dark matter discussed in The Edge of Physics. But it’s not just science that keeps the Oscar nominee stimulated; it’s her wide variety of movie roles, boyfriend Adam Shulman (“So far, it’s worked out great,” she says of their romance) and of course, fashion. “[I] feel like the luckiest girl in the world when I get to wear all theses glamorous clothes,” she says. The Rachel Zoe Project returns to Bravo on Sept. 6, and needless to say, we’re literally going ba-na-nas over this sneak preview. Season four — which will be without Zoe’s former sidekick Brad Goreski — seems to promise fabulous fashion, big clients (hello, Kim Kardashian?) and some serious drama with clueless new assistants. But this time around, the show has a special twist: Zoe’s pregnancy (“I’d like for him to just appear,” she says of labor and delivery) and impending motherhood. With the royal wedding days away, white dresses are on everybody’s minds — none more so than the starlets who have stepped out in the wildly popular minidresses from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2011 fashion show. The collection was actually modeled on a bride’s hope chest, the designers said at September’s show in Milan; this was evident in the pure hue and delicate lacy details on the dresses, which have become white-hot in Hollywood. There may have been two fictional monarchs and a real-life duchess on-hand, but designer Vivienne Westwood was the fashion queen of the Alice in Wonderland premiere last night in London. Leading ladies Anne Hathaway (the White Queen in the Disney flick) and Helena Bonham Carter (the Red Queen), and even special guest Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, were all decked out in gowns from the British designer, who also made an appearance on the green, garden-themed carpet. Braving the drizzly weather in a shimmering bronze sequined dress, Hathaway told BBC, “I have not mastered the British art of looking stoic in the rain.” She’ll have plenty of time to acclimate, as she told reporters, “I’m making a film in England this summer,” and continued, “I just feel overwhelmed and happy. It’s just so thrilling — all of it.” Meanwhile, co-star Johnny Depp spent the better part of an hour chatting to fans. Anne Hathaway looks as unequivocally gorgeous and radiant as ever on the March cover of InStyle—though she’s probably the only person out there who doesn’t see it: “I think I’ve got really weird features. I have very large features on a very small head,” she tells the magazine. “But, you know, I’m not going to beat myself up. It’s my face. I’m not very pretty. But that’s OK because I do know that I look like myself, and I think at the end of the day, as nice as pretty is, authenticity is more important.” The self-effacing actress continues: “If I don’t work out at all, I have too much curve and no tone—which is not OK. Banks may now be tight with loans, but let’s just say that Cartier didn’t hold back for their 100th Anniversary Celebration in America at the Cartier mansion on 5th Avenue to benefit Service Nation, which encourages volunteerism. Anne Hathaway, Kate Hudson, Jessica Biel, Demi Moore, Eva Mendes, Justin Timberlake and Rachel Weisz may have looked like a million dollars at the Cartier Mansion on last night, but collectively they had on nearly three times that amount in borrowed Cartier gemstones — and that’s not counting the bling of Sir Elton John (also in the house). Just Hudson’s diamond and onyx panther necklace alone would have set her back $905,000, not to mention her $230,000 diamond cocktail ring and diamond studs. Timberlake was a diamond stud himself, wearing an onyx and emerald panther tie pin and onyx and diamond cufflinks. “I made a joke to my stylist tonight,” said Hathaway, herself bedecked in over $500,000 worth of Cartier jewelry. “That if I lost [a piece] tonight, technically, it wouldn’t be like losing it, because, after all, I would be at Cartier. And he said [emphatically] . . . ‘No!’” Mendes concurred. “I’m very upset that I have to give back this panther ring in the morning.” But no, she wasn’t afraid of losing the ring worth $220,000. “No, they’ve got insurance for that, Love. It’s never happened, because when things are not mine, I take even more care of them.”

Upstairs at the mansion the history of 100 years of conspicuous luxury was told through a bling-tastic exhibit of bejeweled ornaments created by Cartier for J.P. Morgan, Doris Duke, Barbara Hutton, Gloria Swanson, Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Grace, Elton John’s 43 carat heart-shaped sapphire ring and more. “There was a really lovely, very modern ring for Daisy Fellowes,” said Moore, who helped Cartier announce their partnership with ServiceNation to donate a portion of the sales of their Trinity bracelet to the organization.
