StyleWatchers, we’re surprised at you.

After weeks of voting looks like this, this and this to the top of the Best Dressed list, you picked something that’s, well, a little snoozy.

We certainly won’t argue that Julianne Hough doesn’t look great. She looks darling. In fact, this may be in her five best looks ever.

But in a week that included outfits like this, this and this, we think you could have picked something a little bolder.

That being said, we can’t deny the simple elegance of her Calvin Klein Collection LWD, worn with clean, classic accessories by the line. And her hair and makeup were perfectly on-point. Okay, we concede, she looks terrific, but we can’t help thinking that one of the other ladies on the list could just as well have nabbed the top spot.

Red Carpet Trend Report: The Scoop on Jumpsuits, Double-Strap Sandals and Getting a Little Too Ab-Happy

In our weekly round-up of what we’re seeing sizzle (and fizzle) on the red carpet, we spotted chic onesies all over the place, a ton of strap-happy celebs in sandals — and a little too much ab action.

Up: Jumpsuits. Apparently normal pantsuits are just way too boring, because this trend is taking over Hollywood. Case in point: Jennifer Lopez nailing it in this black all-in-one getup with gold chain detailing around the collar. (If you want to try it, this one is on sale for $49 at Kohl’s!) The look manages to be classy but still packs an edgy punch which makes for the perfect trend formula. Plus, just this week Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Morrison and Maria Menounos proved onesies aren’t going anywhere. Our only question: What happens when you have to use the bathroom?

Ashley Tisdale orange dress INF

Saturday night: This dress is like the holy grail of man attraction. It’s bright, it’s short and it’s girlie without being syrup-y sweet. Add some sexy ankle-strap metallic heels (Ashley Tisdale‘s are Schutz) and leave your hair loose, and we guarantee his eyes will be glued to you all night. This $60 Asos dress has a similarly sassy, citrus-y vibe, and these Michael Antonio heels will make your legs look miles long for less than $50. Skip the coat and borrow his jacket if it gets chilly once the sun goes down.

Blake Lively‘s gone from sex bomb to domestic goddess, and that’s never been more apparent than in this video, the kickoff episode of “Elettra’s Goodness,” a web series inspired by Vogue starring model Elettra Wiedemann.

In the inaugural episode, Wiedemann and Lively indulge in one of their favorite activities, cooking, at the Bedford Post Inn near Lively’s Westchester, N.Y. home with husband Ryan Reynolds (fun fact: the inn is co-owned by Richard Gere and his wife).

Style Rx: Is It Possible Zooey Deschanel Is Actually Stuck In These Tights and Can’t Get Out?

May/17/2013 at 09:00 AM ET

Who: Zooey Deschanel

Where: At the Fox upfronts in N.Y.C.

Diagnosis: We grow increasingly concerned that she is stuck in the same pair of black tights and cannot remove them. We’re all for having a “thing,” but when that “thing” makes us sweaty and uncomfortable by association, we become a little less supportive.

RELATED PHOTOS: Vote on questionable star style in “Obsessed or Hot Mess?”

Prognosis: Zooey, we’ve noticed you’re experimenting with your bangs lately, and that’s super. We recommend riding that experimental wave and trying a few A-line skirt outfits — sans tights. No major changes to your wardrobe are needed; just one quick check of Weather.com before heading out the door would keep your red-carpet style fun, feminine and yet climate-appropriate.

–Alex Apatoff

Tell us: Do you agree, or are you into the tights?
