Country music’s first couple, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, are making beautiful music together again — with a new fragrance duet.

Soul2Soul, which is comprised of a woodsy His and a floral Hers scent, was inspired by their joint 2000 tour of the same name. “When our fans think of us together, besides thinking of family, they probably do think about their experience with [the tour],” McGraw tells WWD. “It was important to us to give them something that was familiar.”

Though both husband and wife have had their experience concocting scents — McGraw’s first scent with Coty Beauty launched in August 2008; Hill’s first followed in October 2009 — this is the first time they’ve put their noses together. “I like the collaborative process with her, for sure,” McGraw says, ultimately giving Hill the credit for the finished product: “I get to a certain point and finally just say, ‘What do you think, Faith?’”

Looking to change your signature scent? Another starlet is throwing her hat into the ring of celebrity perfumers: Nicole Richie. The former reality star and current designer is following in the footsteps of Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and a host of others, launching her own perfume in the near future.

“[Richie] has a wide breadth of creative talents being an author, a jewelry designer, a fashion designer and an aspirational figure,” TPR Holdings president Brian Robinson told WWD. Having 2.3 million Twitter followers helps her credibility in the style world, too. “They look favorably on her,” he added. “She’s done a great job with her image.”

Though very few details were revealed, Robinson, whose company holds the license for Richie’s upcoming scent, said the fragrance and packaging will reflect Richie’s “very distinct image,” and fans can expect a scent that will be “cool, classy and edgy.”

Keith Urban’s Fragrance Commercial Contest: Get Inspired

Keith Urban needs your help: he has a new cologne, Phoenix, but no commercial to promote the scent. So we’ve teamed up with the country superstar, and we’re asking fans to make their own commercials — with the chance to win some fabulous prizes.

Ellen DeGeneres recently created her own entry — albeit kind of inappropriate! — and Urban’s team has created a few clips of their own, like the one above. The country singer wants to see fans’ most creative videos, demonstrating why Phoenix is the cologne all men want to wear.

That’s Hot: Ellen DeGeneres Creates a Keith Urban Fragrance Commercial

Have you created a commercial for Keith Urban‘s Phoenix cologne yet? We don’t want to scare you … but you may have some competition. Ellen DeGeneres got into the game this week, creating a spoof ad with Urban and airing it on her show.

The country crooner keeps his cool as the talk show hostess spritzes him with water, cools him with ice and, well, gets very touchy-feely. The ad even comes with its own tagline: “Phoenix: It’s Hot.”

After the clip aired, Urban joked, “You know that you’re the only woman that would be okay with my wife, doing that.” DeGeneres’s reply? “I don’t know, she may get jealous of that.”

Me-wow! Katy Perry Planning a Second Fragrance

Katy Perry Purr Canada

One year after her very first scent, Purr, hit shelves, Katy Perry is planning a second fragrance for November. The silly, sexy singer will launch this perfume — a companion piece to Purr — at Nordstrom stores and on nordstrom.com in November.

Purr, which was a top-seller around the globe for months, was intended to make the celebrity scent market “competitive,” Perry told WWD last year. “I saw a lot of my peers getting into this world, and, as with my music, I thought I could bring my touch to the category.” The fragrance — a combination of peach nectar, freesia, Bulgarian rose, apple and green bamboo — “was completely unlike anything I’d smelled before,” she said.

While Perry spoke openly about Purr and its cat-shaped bottle before it debuted last year, this time, she playing coy: starting next week, via Twitter, the singer will invite fans to guess the scent’s name. Winners will be selected randomly, and will receive prizes like perfume and the chance to meet Perry at a launch event in December. Tell us: What do you think Perry named her new scent?

Contest: Create Keith Urban’s First Fragrance Commercial!

Frederick Breedon/Getty

We know you’re already excited about Keith Urban‘s first men’s fragrance, Phoenix, but can you prove just how big of a fan you really are?

People.com is teaming up with the singer to find an extra-creative country-lover — one to create Urban’s first Phoenix commercial. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for the fragrance (and the adorable Aussie!), someone who totally thinks outside the box and someone who has a lot of enthusiasm — you will be in a commercial, after all!

To enter, visit keithurban.net, where you’ll find some tools — video clips, images — that you can use in your video. There are also a few fun examples on the site to offer a little inspiration, too. Then, tape away! Commercials must be 30 seconds in length and can’t contain copyrighted music, photos or videos.

When you’re set, upload your clip to YouTube and fill out the official entry form, which includes a spot to leave a link to your video. We’ll review all of your entries, and narrow the field down to 10 finalists on Nov. 12. Then Urban himself will handpick the best video; that winning clip will hit airwaves as the official commercial for Phoenix!
