With the news that Zoë Saldana is joining the ranks of women like Lea Michele and Blake Lively as a L’Oréal Paris spokesperson, we had to ask: What does this new title mean to you? “It puts the stamp on, like, ‘Congratulations, you’re finally a real woman!” Saldana tells PEOPLE, laughing.

The N.Y.-born beauty, who describes her beauty philosophy as “simple, clean and strong,” is known for her elegant signature makeup look, a cat eye and red lipstick — the latter of which she loves so much, she confessed to having three red lipsticks in her purse alone. And though she knows what works for her now, she recommends a lot of trial and error to get to that perfect shade for you.

“In the years I’ve been on this planet, I’ve grown to believe that every woman on this earth can rock a red lip,” she says. “It doesn’t matter how big or how thin their lips are, how dark their skin is, or yellow or light or pink, there’s so many shades of red, you can find the right shade. Women just look so beautiful and powerful when they’re wearing red lipstick.”

Olivia Wilde On Beauty Mistakes and the Makeup Look Men Are Afraid Of

To look at Olivia Wilde now — she who looks flawless whether she’s walking the dog or at the Oscars — it’s hard to believe she ever had a bad beauty moment. But she swears she’s got one or two (or ten) in her past.

“I don’t think there’s one picture from growing up where I don’t think, ‘Ugh, awful!’” she tells PEOPLE. “If I ever have a daughter who starts experimenting with heavy makeup or shaving her hair like I did, I would encourage it and say, ‘Do it all now, you’ll learn yourself well.’”

Sorry: Shaving your hair? Are there photos of that? “I did that awful gutterpunk undershave look when I was 12,” she says. “Not an easy grow back process. It looked like I got run over by a tractor. But my mom had a good response to that stuff; I didn’t even need to be punished, I learned that one on my own.”

These days, Wilde relies on a beauty routine much more low key than the ones you’ll see in her Revlon ads (the latest for the “Rio Rush” collection, seen exclusively at left, is a “sexy tan kind of Brazilian hot look”). Most days, she swipes on the brand’s CC cream to cover “any weird splotches and acne scars,” fills in her brows and puts on mascara.

When it comes to beauty products, Jennifer Aniston admits she can be a bit of a pack rat.

“I get yelled at,” the actress tells PEOPLE. “I’ve had makeup in my drawer for 10 years that I should probably get rid of. I do get new mascaras and things like that, but I also have this weird thing [about saving]. Remember when Calvin Klein made makeup? That was in the ’90s. I think I just threw out a lipstick of his.”

And fashion-wise? “I have jeans from my twenties that I can’t get rid of,” Aniston jokes. “I still have red loafers from Friends! I have a nostalgia about them.”

On the topic of skincare, however, Aniston is much more minimal, relying on Aveeno’s face wash (she’s the line’s global brand ambassador). And now the actress has narrated a digital video short that’s the first of a series highlighting the power of natural ingredients used in the brand’s products.

She has her own line of beauty products, huge new campaigns with H&M, Clear Haircare and Reebok and now she’s just been named the face of Escada’s fall fragrance “Joyful.” Yes, Miranda Kerr is everywhere. We caught up with the supermodel to get some insight on her latest brand collaboration (finally, we could get our questions about her perfume-spraying routine answered!).

“I like to spritz on the ends of my hair, and also on my clothing before I get dressed,” Kerr tells PEOPLE. “Just a little spritz on my clothing. It’s a subtle way when you enter the room for people to feel your presence, but not be overwhelmed by it.”

The supermodel added that her involvement with the brand’s new scent (out this fall) has reminded her or her childhood. “I remember playing with my mother’s perfumes. She had quite a collection. On her dresser she had all the different perfumes. It was her thing. I didn’t really get my own perfume until I was older, maybe in my teens [but I] remember using rose oils and sandalwood oil — mixing those two together. I liked that balance of the fresh flowers with something that’s very grounding. I think that’s a nice mix of freshness and strength.” Read More

We like to think of Gwyneth Paltrow as our own personal lifestyle guru. From her bold crop top-wearing skills to her crazy cleanses to those GOOP newsletters (yes, we subscribe!), the actress is everywhere (including in our head as we get ready). So it’s no surprise Restorsea tapped Paltrow as the new face of their skincare line. (After all, she did nab PEOPLE’s World’s Most Beautiful woman title.)

What are her secrets to a flawless complexion? “I try to always cleanse my skin and moisturize at night. I’ve gotten a lot better at it,” she tells PEOPLE. “I used to just wash my face with a wash cloth and water. But now I’m 41, so I need to be a girl and deal with products and put them on and stuff. I still think a hot wash cloth is a really good exfoliator, and I still use it. But I put a cleanser on first. Exfoliation is super important. A hot wash cloth and good scrub.”
