Julia Louis-Dreyfus may have kicked off her Emmys preparations by washing her hair in the kitchen sink, a fact (and photo) the Veep star posted on her Instagram account earlier today with the following description: “This is how it began yesterday at the kitchen sink. #Emmys2014 #glamour.”

But you didn’t expect Louis-Dreyfus to show up for the big night in a dishrag, now, did you? So, glamour it is. The Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series contender (and last year’s winner!) is a total knockout in a stunning custom gown by her go-to designer, Carolina Herrera. “Working with Mrs. Herrera and her team is a dream come true,” the brunette beauty tells PEOPLE.

The raspberry draped dress features a twisted and draped halter neckline, a cinched waist with contrasting skinny belt, an open back with criss-cross leather straps and gathering in all the right places. “It’s very heavy and it’s gold, and I love it. And I’ve just now forgotten the designer,” Louis-Dreyfus gushed of her clutch during the E! pre-show (she later revealed it’s Lee Savage).

Hairstylist David Gardner (the very same who was washing her hair in the sink) shared a shot of the star in full prep mode (with the product used to achieve her incredibly perfect blowout). We wouldn’t mind a similarly “glamorous” night at home ourselves.

Why Do Celeb Makeup Artists Love This Product?

Aug/25/2014 at 06:00 AM ET

Well, for starters, it’s an incredible moisturizer, it’s a gentle makeup remover, it’s a primer, it can be mixed with foundation to create a tinted moisturizer and some people even use it as a face wash. No wonder it’s a staple on TV and movie sets. We’d happily pay full price for this find — but if you’re a first-time Joyus shopper, you don’t have to (scroll down to get the discount code for 15% off).

Our favorite part about Embyrolisse Lait Cream is probably that it removes even the most stubborn, waterproof eye makeup, but it does so gently. No rubbing that delicate skin under your eyes or loading up the area with harsh, chemical-filled products that just dry out the skin. Just swipe on the moisturizer then swipe it off with a finger or tissue.

Of course, we love it as a moisturizer, too (this stuff is not-at-all greasy and never causes breakouts). And yes, it really does double (triple? quadruple?) as a primer or a tinted moisturizer if you add foundation. This editor has even started washing her face with it — it’s a nice, non-drying, gentle cleanser.

Shop it by clicking on the product in the video above or clicking here, and enter STYLE15 if you’re a first-time Joyus shopper to bring the price down to $13.60. But before you check out, be sure to see more beauty products, fashion favorites and fitness finds — all eligible for that exclusive discount.

Happy shopping!

Yvette Nicole Brown: Why I'm Not Wearing Weaves or Wigs

Aug/24/2014 at 01:15 PM ET

Yvette Nicole Brown is ready to shed the skin she’s in … or at least the wig.

“I want to show African American women that all of our hair is beautiful in its natural state,” the Community star told PEOPLE at Entertainment Weekly‘s Pre-Emmy Party at Fig & Olive on Saturday.

Her first step? Going without her own collection of weaves to reveal her real hair.

“We don’t have to add pieces,” the actress, 43, says. “I’m at a place in my life where I want to be authentically myself.”
