Ashley Greene on Her Last-Minute Premiere Look: “We Had to Start From Scratch”

Ramey

Twilight’s Ashley Greene might have looked red-hot at last night’s L.A. premiere of the film series’ latest installment, New Moon, but she tells PEOPLE that finding her perfect scarlet Prabal Gurung stunner was no small matter. “We picked a dress out, had it ready,” Ashley says of a different look, which she originally chose with her stylist. But at the last minute, “I decided I didn’t like it and we had to start from scratch.” Just how down to the wire did it get? “I stopped by the tailors right before I got here to pick up the dress,” she admits. The rest of her red-carpet prep, however, was less of an ordeal. For two hours on the Sunday before the premiere, Ashley received eyelash extensions from expert Calma Yom at The Parlour on 3rd and then returned to the salon to have her hair extensions freshened up the following day. As for her bronzed skin, Ashley looked to St. Tropez tanning expert Fiona Locke, who customized and contoured her skin before the big event. The final touch came at the hands of makeup artist Vanessa Scali, who created the ’60s-inspired look for the Twilight star with “well-defined eyes with lots of lashes, a strong brow and clean skin with subtle pink [and] coral cheeks and lips.” Tell us: What did you think of Ashley’s head-to toe premiere style last night? –additional reporting by Lisa Ingrassia

Do Blondes Have More Fun? Emma Roberts is Trying to Find Out!

Tony DiMaio/Startraks

Emma Roberts hit the The Prada Book launch on Friday in Beverly Hills with brand new sexy blonde hair color, and the Hotel for Dogs star talked to PEOPLE about whether she thinks the old cliché rings true. “I don’t think I need to be having any more fun these days!” she joked. But that doesn’t mean the actress won’t be testing out the theory. “I leave for New York in a few days and I think, what better than to show off my new hair than in New York to see if, you know, blondes do have more fun!” So why the sudden change? Emma explains that in addition to just wanting to “change it up,” the new look is also helping her to get into character for her newest film, It’s Kind Of A Funny Story. “I start shooting in New York next week and I wanted to do something different,” she explains. “I play a girl in mental institute that cut her face up with scissors. So I thought my face is going to be cut up I may as well have beautiful hair!” Tell us: What do like Emma better as a blonde or a brunette?–Kristin Larson

Kate Moss on Her Famous Face: “I’m Not Traditionally a Beauty”

Bill Davila/Startraks

Kate Moss might have built a multi-million dollar career on her looks, but, she says, her appeal is more than skin deep. “It sounds really corny, but I think that if you’re beautiful inside, it shows on the outside for sure,” she tells WWD in an interview timed with the European launch of her fourth fragrance, Vintage. “You can be a pretty face, but if you’re not a nice person it just doesn’t work. I’m not traditionally a beauty, but apparently people think I’m all right.” And of course, there is always the personality factor. Kate elaborates, “If you’re a nice person, it definitely helps.” This doesn’t, however, mean that the original waif would let herself go. Her motto for keeping her figure in check? “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels,” she says before adding, “You try and remember, but it never works.” Read the full interview at WWD.com.

Mariska Hargitay’s Charitable “Philosophy”

Megan Sorel

While she may play tough as nails detective Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, this Hollywood actress is showing off her big heart, by using her spare time to give back to women in need. Hargitay and her Joyful Heart Foundation joined forces with philosophy to build “healing kits” for women in shelters throughout the LA area to draw attention to the massive budget cuts to the state’s domestic violence services. Along with her handsome hubby Peter Hermann, celeb pals Debra Messing, Sharon Lawrence and Shohreh Aghdashloo and other volunteers, the group filled the kits with philosophy’s charity shower gel, a cozy shirt from Michael Stars and other goodies. “These kits say to a survivor: you’re not alone,” Hargitay told PEOPLE. “ I want to inspire these women with a sense of joy and possibility.” Hargitay partnered with philosophy to create a shower gel and body lotion which 100% of proceeds go to her Joyful Heart Foundation. “These products are so beautiful,” gushed a proud Hargitay. “The make women feel so good, it’s about watering your soul and heart and feeling good.” Support the cause by purchasing your own Joyful Heart shower gel, $20, from philosophy.com.– Jen Garcia

Bye-Bye Blonde! Kellie Pickler Goes Redhead: Love It or Hate It?

Frederick Breedon/Getty

Kellie Pickler may be one of country’s most iconic blondes — she’s even impersonated Dolly Parton — but for now, she’s joining a less represented segment of the music community: redheads! The bombshell debuted her newly auburn locks on the red carpet of the CMA Awards tonight, having carefully tucked them under a hat for Parton’s Live from London DVD premiere party on Tuesday night. Pickler joked of the attention her new do is getting on the red carpet, saying, “It seems to be the thing to talk about.” She also gave a shout-out to legendary country redhead Reba McEntire, suggesting that she was joining her ranks since “we’ve got enough blondes in country.” But, she did admit to PEOPLE that she is still adjusting to her new do. “The hair doesn’t make the person, but it has been a shocker. I wake up in the morning and walk by the mirror and I’m like, ‘Who’s that!’ I thought someone broke into my house!” Pickler did manage to find the upside, explaining that, “It’s been interesting with red hair cause you can’t wear the same things. It’s an excuse to go shopping.” What do you think of Kellie’s new hair color? Vote in our poll below, and see all news, photos and more from the CMAs!
