On the heels of two major Hollywood hair color changes, Carly Rae Jepsen followed Anne Hathway and Demi Lovato’s lead and lightened up her locks. But instead of going blonde, the “Call Me Maybe” singer went red!

“I always wanted to go red!” Jepsen Tweeted on Tuesday along with a flirty photo showing off her rich new shade in a half-up do. (Not to worry, she hasn’t changed up those signature blunt bangs.)

Jepsen’s Instagram followers might remember that she hinted at a big hair color change back in November. After posing with a redheaded fan, she posted a photo of the two of them to Instagram and wrote, “Loving her red hair…. Might have to dye mine someday soon?????!!!!”

Her fans seem glad she decided to do it. She received Tweets like, “im obsesssssed with @carlyraejepsen new red hair!!” and a ton more equally enthusiastic messages.

We want to know what you think: Do you prefer Carly Rae Jepsen as a brunette or are you loving her new red hair?

Carrie Ann Inaba’s ‘DWTS’ Blog: My Dress Was So Hot, It Made Me Wish I’d Lined Up a Date!

Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba joins us again to blog about her style (and all the backstage scoop) on the show’s 16th season. This week, she talks about the sexy dress that made her wish she had a date night planned — and sending her jewels flying into the audience.

What an incredible night in the ballroom. The number Derek choreographed based on the late Fred Astaire’s incredible genius was so impressive. It’s exciting to see such innovative choreography, even though the idea was borrowed. It’s a reinvention and that is what happens with art.

What was impressive is that it didn’t feel like a second rate version of a classic. Instead, it felt like a wonderful unique piece of art that will stand the test of time. I haven’t been that impressed since his Paso Doble the night before!

That was just a little reminder to my judging friend Len Goodman … who I still say robbed them of a perfect 30. But I still love him and respect him. We are all there for different reasons, and a little argument here and there never hurt anyone.

Demi Lovato Goes Blonde

We’re used to seeing Demi Lovato in dark hair and lots of leather, so her latest look had us doing a double-take.

At a Washington, D.C. event where the singer was being honored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, she looked positively demure in an ivory embroidered fit-and-flare dress, cream-colored blazer and ladylike nude court shoes, all topped by her brand new golden locks.

In addition to the new hue, the star also debuted a new hairstyle — where she usually wears her hair in loose waves or a topknot, she straightened her shoulder-length locks into a smooth bob with her bangs swept to the side.

The star’s hair is ever-changing, but we’re hoping she sticks with this for a while — it’s sweet and perfect for summer.

Met Gala 2013: Three Beauty Looks We’ve Still Got to Discuss

We’ve talked fauxhawks. We’ve talked smoky eyes. But we have not yet discussed these three major beauty moments, and it’s about time.

First up: January Jones’s straight-up Black Swan makeup look. From the bleached eyebrows to the dramatic black liner, we hardly recognized our dear Betty Draper — and we kinda liked it. It was bold and brazen, but was it a hit?

Also on the daring end of the eyeshadow spectrum, Emily Blunt opted for a bold wash of fuschia shadow that totally played against the conservative vibe of her Carolina Herrera gown. Between that and her fierce Lorraine Schwartz danglers, she embodied the phrase “if looks could kill.” To get the sizzling pink, NARS makeup artist Jenn Streicher got creative, using the line’s “Jardin des Plantes” satin lip pencil topped with Desire powder blush.

And finally, Elizabeth Banks’s long, clipped-up ponytail, which didn’t quite qualify for our fauxhawk roundup, but it was head-turning nonetheless.

Tell us: Whose look did you like most: Jones’s, Blunt’s or Banks’s? Would you try any in your everyday life?

3 Trends Spotted at the Met Gala: Spikes, Gloves & Punktastic Hair Color

May/07/2013 at 09:00 AM ET

After you’ve clicked through all the amazing (we use that word in a good and bad way) looks stars wore to the annual Met Ball, scroll down to see the punk-ish style themes that kept popping up on the red carpet.

SPIKES: There was perhaps no trend more ubiquitous than these bad boys. Jessica Alba (carrying a Christian Louboutin clutch) and Cameron Diaz (in a golden belt) looked ready to skewer vegetables for a barbecue, while Cara Delevingne reminds us of a sexy porcupine in her sharply studded Burberry gown.

GLOVES: Unlike those spikes, we never could have predicted the presence of these ladylike accessories at Fashion Prom for Punks. But Kerry Washington and Beyoncé wore them with their gowns. And then there was Kim Kardashian, who wore gloves attached to her dress and in the same print.

PUNK HAIR COLOR: Lily Collins (rocking blue streaks), Diane Kruger (who dip-dyed her ponytail pink) and Alicia Keys (with red highlights) are giving us flashbacks to the Manic Panic-fueled days of middle school. Wonder if any of them, including Kerry Washington with her purple-ish mane, will keep the color after the Ball has ended.

Which of these trends would you consider trying?

Five Ways to Fauxhawk, as Seen at the Met Gala

Normally, we’d call fauxhawks ‘pretty crazy,’ but given that we’ve seen this, this and this at Monday night’s Met Gala in New York City … they’re actually almost ‘pretty tame’ by comparison. However, when you’ve got Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani and Julianne Moore all sporting similar hairstyles at the same major punk-themed event, you most certainly have a trend. One that we’re not sure we’d try, but that we’re loving on these stars.

Lopez’s gravity-defying look was a major departure from her typical waves and curls, calling to mind, perhaps, a long-haired, brunette Pink. Emily Blunt took an elegant approach to her hair, opting for some voluminous twists at the front leading to a messy updo at her crown. Stefani brought us (fittingly) back to her punkier days a bit, opting for a serious side-part and bangs to go with her topknot.

Sarah Jessica Parker Wears a Mohawk, Takes the Met Gala Theme Seriously – And We Love It!

May/06/2013 at 08:57 PM ET

We promised you that Sarah Jessica Parker would be taking the Met Gala’s punk theme seriously, and she did not disappoint.

She was head-to-toe fabulous, starting, of course, with the head: she sported a custom “Punk Couture hat” from famed milliner Philip Treacy. “He’s been working on it for the past few weeks,” she said, “and I feel incredibly fortunate that it’s in my custody and care.”

Next up, her striking Giles Deacon dress, “which he came to New York City and cut himself.”

And finally, “we asked Mr. Louboutin to make these boots, just as a nod to the plaid, the flannel that we think of when we think about that particular period,” she said of her ridiculously cool thigh-high tartan boots.

She accessorized with Fred Leighton jewelry as well as her own vintage pieces. And somehow, the star managed to make all those wild elements look perfectly punk in a way that the rest of us never could.

Tell us: What do you think about Parker’s wild outfit?
