Britney Spears Got a Bob!

Sep/25/2014 at 08:47 AM ET

Britney Spears is a woman of many hairstyles. In this year alone, she’s been brunette, platinum and red. She’s had bangs, braids and buns, but she hasn’t been short in years — and that all changed today!

The pop star, who is promoting her lingerie line The Intimate Britney Spears, has been on a global tour looking remarkably chic and pulled-together in a series of jumpsuits and fitted sheaths. Her hair has been worn long, loose and wavy or pulled into a mega-I Dream of Jeannie-style pony. Which is why this latest look threw us for a curve.

Spears appeared at the Oberhausen, Germany, launch of her line wearing a chic white pantsuit offset by her chin-length bob. And while yes, we’re sure extension removal was involved in the making of the new do, this is still the shortest she’s been in years, meaning that scissors and a stylist were also involved.

She also looked to have gotten a more all over light blonde look with some dark undertones to frame her face along with the new cut.

Of course, Spears could be sporting extensions by tomorrow, but we’re really loving this sleek new stage of her hair evolution. And who knows — if she sends her stylist’s number to Kate along with the whole lingerie collection, we could see the Duchess joining Brit on the bob train any day now.

Are you loving the bob on Britney? Too short or long overdue?
