This Multitasking Perfume Will Change Your Spring and Summer (Maybe Even Your Life)

Apr/21/2014 at 06:00 AM ET

File this under: Why the heck didn’t someone invent this sooner?! It’s fragrance that doubles as a bug spray. No terrible smell (the scent is light and floral), no chemicals, no DEET, but it magically repels insects including mosquitos as well as all those heavy-duty stinky repellants. We’re loading up on this perfume now and hoping to make it through the next few months without a single mosquito bite — and no gagging over the smell of bug spray — which will be a first.

Click here to pick up the full-size or bag-size bottle of insect repellant (both are TSA-friendly).

We know, the price isn’t exactly super-cheap compared to the bug sprays you’d find at a drugstore, but this isn’t an apples-to-apples comparison. Aromaflage is so much more than your average insect repellant. And, really, we’d gladly pay extra to not have to choose between pesky bug bites and dousing ourselves in terrible-smelling, bad-for-us-chemical-laden spray. Plus, if you’re a first-time Joyus shopper, you can get 15% off everything in your cart by entering STYLE15 at checkout. Oh, and did we mention you get free shipping for orders over 50 bucks?

Matthew McConaughey Is Still Wearing His True Detective Pants (and More Fun Facts You Didn't Know About the Dolce & Gabbana Spokesman)

Between winning the Best Actor Oscar for Dallas Buyers Club, stealing Wolf of Wall Street with less than six minutes of screen time and starring in the critically-acclaimed HBO show, True Detective, Matthew McConaughey is having the best year ever. So when we received an email asking us if we wanted to interview him about being the face of Dolce & Gabbana “The One” fragrance, we responded (say it with us now) “Alright, alright, alright!”

The actor (at the extreme height of what we’re calling McConaugheCool) was a pure delight on the phone — and we learned so many candid tidbits during our phone chat that we had to list them out for you. (P.S.: The photo at left was taken during our conversation. Okay, fine, there’s no proof of that, but it was the same day — so just go with it.)

Miranda Kerr Is the New Face of Escada's Fragrance: Read Her First Exclusive Interview

Mar/21/2014 at 09:00 AM ET

She has her own line of beauty products, huge new campaigns with H&M, Clear Haircare and Reebok and now she’s just been named the face of Escada’s fall fragrance “Joyful.” Yes, Miranda Kerr is everywhere. We caught up with the supermodel to get some insight on her latest brand collaboration (finally, we could get our questions about her perfume-spraying routine answered!).

“I like to spritz on the ends of my hair, and also on my clothing before I get dressed,” Kerr tells PEOPLE. “Just a little spritz on my clothing. It’s a subtle way when you enter the room for people to feel your presence, but not be overwhelmed by it.”

The supermodel added that her involvement with the brand’s new scent (out this fall) has reminded her or her childhood. “I remember playing with my mother’s perfumes. She had quite a collection. On her dresser she had all the different perfumes. It was her thing. I didn’t really get my own perfume until I was older, maybe in my teens [but I] remember using rose oils and sandalwood oil — mixing those two together. I liked that balance of the fresh flowers with something that’s very grounding. I think that’s a nice mix of freshness and strength.” Read More

Kit Harington Is the New Face of Jimmy Choo

Is it too much to hope that the new face of Jimmy Choo Mens’ follows in the footsteps of the face of Jimmy Choo Womens’ and poses topless in the ads? We don’t think so, especially when that face is Kit Harington, 27, the smoldering Game of Thrones star just named to star in the ad campaigns for the line’s shoes, bags and upcoming fragrance and sunglasses collection.

The campaign won’t launch until fall, which gives us plenty of time to make fan art of Jon Snow wearing natty loafers and shades. “I was very excited to be chosen as the face for such a highly regarded brand and to play a role in defining who the Jimmy Choo man is,” Harington said in a statement. Added the creative director of the brand, Sandra Choi, “Kit perfectly embodies the Jimmy Choo Man. He has a natural and alluring masculinity and an effortless sense of style. His cool attitude and smouldering sensuality belie a true British gentleman.”

Since we’ve got until September, we’re also adding to our wish list a Game of Thrones-themed Choo ad with female face Nicole Kidman as Cersei Lannister, and also for Snow to come demonstrate the new fragrance in person. Let’s hope Jimmy Choo reads our wishlist before then.

What do you think of Harington as the face of Jimmy Choo? Are you excited to see the campaign?

Sofia Vergara has conquered the clothing and cosmetics markets, and now the sultry star is launching her own flowery fragrance.

The Modern Family actress, 41, will expand her brand with an eponymous perfume, Sofia, Women’s Wear Daily reports. The scent will be sold on HSN beginning April 24, with a 50-ml bottle priced at $48.

For Vergara, her debut fragrance smells like home. “I have orchids and roses because those are my favorite flowers, and they’re Colombian,” she told WWD. “I wanted to bring a little bit of who I am, my ethnicity, where I’m from, and I thought it was very cool to be able to get flowers from Colombia actually into the perfume.”

Known for her glamorous, figure-flaunting fashion choices, Vergara made sure her product appears as sparkly as her signature red carpet style. Read More

Drew Barrymore's Bridal Beauty Advice: 'Look Like Yourself on Your Wedding Day'

Mar/06/2014 at 05:13 PM ET

Drew Barrymore loves to play around with makeup, which was one of the reasons she founded her own cosmetics line, Flower Beauty. The actress also loves to share beauty advice with fans, and she has a very strong opinion for brides-to-be: Don’t go crazy with the face paint on your wedding day.

“That day is so surreal and important and long-lasting for people, I think the biggest mistake you can make is to overdo it,” she said at her Flower Beauty spring launch in N.Y.C. “Look like yourself on your wedding day — don’t go with crazy spiral curls and some heavy foundation and look back at that picture and be like, ‘Whoa, that doesn’t look like me.’ It should be you but the most enhanced, beautiful natural version of yourself.”

And for those brides thinking about making a big beauty move for the trip down the aisle, Barrymore urges for a softer approach. “I appreciate some women who are like, ‘I really want to change my hair color for that day,’ but it’s not the time to play around. If you are thinking of doing something bold like a nail, pick a shade that has powders and grays and neutrals in it so it tones down the ‘cuckoo factor.’ I think wedding days and ‘cuckoo factor’ are not a good combination.” Read More
