FIRST LOOK: Audrey Tautou’s Inspired New Chanel No. 5 Images

It’s been nearly a year since French film star Audrey Tautou filled the shoes of Nicole Kidman as the face of Chanel No 5. And with her film Coco Before Chanel slated to debut on September 25th and a new print campaign for the fragrance about to launch, the actress is talking how playing Coco Chanel brought her new perspective to her role as the face of the fragrance — and sharing her latest Chanel No 5 ads. “The feature film enabled me to learn a lot more about Coco Chanel,” Audrey says of playing the style icon. “She was an innovator, ahead of her era. The fact that she created a fragrance in the 1920s that could just as easily have been created yesterday reflects the standard of excellence that applied to everything she did in her life.” She continues, “By playing Coco and getting to know her, I understood, even more, just how unique N°5 really is.” Tell us: What do you think of Audrey’s new images for Chanel No 5? Miranda Kerr and Melissa Rycroft on Fragrance — and Love in the Public Eye

Scott Kirkland/INF

Model Miranda Kerr, might be notoriously tight-lipped about her relationship with Orlando Bloom, but there is one secret she couldn’t wait to let out of the bag — Victoria’s Secret’s newest perfume. Last week, the Victoria’s Secret Angel headed to retailer’s store at The Grove in L.A. to launch the Dream Angels Heavenly Enchanted Collection. And as stunning as Miranda looked in her nude Christian Dior dress and matching Miu Miu pumps, she somehow managed to keep the focus on the new scent. “It’ll be a great fragrance for the winter because it’s very woody,” she told PEOPLE.com, offering a whiff, “but also has a crisp freshness to it.” Joining her at the event was Dancing with the Stars alum, Melissa Rycroft — who was brave enough to bring along her fiance, Tye Strickland. Melissa had little to worry about from her husband-to-be, though, who happily chatted about planning the details of their upcoming wedding. “Tye and I are similar in our planning in that we both do nothing,” she laughed. “Our parents love that stuff and we don’t get stressed out about it.” Strickland jokingly added, “And they’re cheap too. We don’t have to pay them too much.” And while the reality star (who was famously dumped after winning the The Bachelor) isn’t shy about experiencing her relationships in the public eye, supermodel Miranda had a different take on love and celebrity, addressing her own hesitation to share her love life by explaining that it’s simple: “the rest of my life is so public.” –Reporting by Susan Yara

Usher Gives InStyle the Lowdown on Fashion and Fragrance

PA Photos/Landov

Recently it seems that Hollywood’s been abuzz about the smell of their leading men, with Oprah gushing over Jay-Z’s scent and Justin Timberlake singing the praises of Givenchy Play. Count in Usher, who in this month’s issue of InStyle gives readers the low-down on fashion, fatherhood — and fragrance. And while his latest fragrance, VIP, will be hitting shelves soon, his love of cologne is nothing new. “I would go to church with my granddad every Sunday, and he’d put on his Brut [by Faberge],” Usher tells the magazine. “I’d ask him for some, and he’d say, ‘Boy, you don’t want any of this. It’ll put hair on your chest.’” When it came to contemplating what line he’s like to put his name on, he went for staying-power. “I’ve thought about clothing and jewelry lines,” he explains, “but fragrance stays on when everything else comes off.” And while Usher might be known for rocking a wardrobe of elegant tuxedos and suave casual wear — plus a legendary collection of over 10,000 pairs of shoes — he offers up one very unexpected footwear must-have: Birkenstocks. “I got that from the Bay Area. Being a man of style means you’re not tied to one look.” Check out more of Usher’s interview in the 15th Anniversary issue ofInStyle with Jennifer Lopez on the cover, on stands now.
