Jennifer Lopez‘s skin sure is glowing in her new fragrance ad — we know, because we can see it all. The sexy singer and American Idol judge strikes a daring pose — in the buff — for her new fragrance (her 18th!), Glowing.

“Glowing is such a clean fragrance,” she tells WWD of the scent, a follow-up to her first fragrance, Glow. “That’s what I’ve always been about. I like soapy, clean smells. This is a very woodsy scent. So it’s not exactly what I created 10 years ago — it’s the evolution of that.”

Describing Glowing as “earthy, clean and real,” Lopez says the fragrance is “kind of New York-y, darker and sexier.” It contains notes of cypress, orange flower, cassia flower, vanilla and cashmere musk, and as a special treat, the eau de parfum bottles light up for 15 seconds when spritzed. “We’re in the history making business, baby,” Lopez says, laughing.

Jokes aside, Lopez hopes that this is another fragrance that will last. “I always feel pressure to create a great fragrance — I always want it to be so special, this one especially because of Glow. We want it to be great, and I think it is.”

Forget that first ex-boyfriend — Kate Walsh is on to bigger and better guys. The Private Practice star is trading up with her new fragrance, Billionaire Boyfriend, the second in her “Boyfriend” series of scents.

“The idea was always luxe,” Walsh tells PEOPLE. “It’s kind of a throwback to times when things were just sexy and romantic, and that fantasy of James Bond movies, Monte Carlo, driving down the coast in a sports car … la dolce vita.”

The fragrance mixes feminine and masculine notes of black jasmine amber, fruits of bergamot, tangerine, orchid, gardenia and sandalwood to create a super-rich scent. “It’s yummy,” Walsh says. “For people familiar with the original Boyfriend, they’ll recognize it in the bottom notes, but with the additions of a big, bad floral.”

Billionare Boyfriend comes with a fancy bottle, too, inspired by “a big magnum of Dom [Perignon],” Walsh says. “I wanted to have this bottle feel very old school, a nod to old-world Europe.”

The “webemercials” for the scent were just as cool to create: Walsh and her team filmed them over a long weekend at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. They may as well call it ‘Bella By Starlight.’

Balenciaga has signed Twilight actress Kristen Stewart as a spokesperson for its perfume line, the Paris fashion house has confirmed to PEOPLE. Stewart’s still-unnamed fragrance and campaign are expected to launch in the fall.

“I love Balenciaga fashion because it’s incredibly forceful, yet feminine and sexy,” Stewart says in a release. “I found out there was a real creative freedom about this project. I feel blessed and really proud of being the face of this new fragrance.”

“Kristen embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence,” designer Nicolas Ghesquière, who first worked with the actress in a 2006 Bruce Weber shoot, tells WWD. Since that time, he adds, “I’ve always wished to collaborate with her further, knowing that she shares the radical spirit of Balenciaga.”

Kristen joins French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg as a member of the Balenciaga stable; since 2010, Gainsbourg has been the face of Balenciaga Paris, the existing house fragrance.

Does this woman ever stop working? Kim Kardashian announced on Twitter Wednesday that she’s launching yet another fragrance. Called True Reflection, it joins her previous scents, Kim Kardashian, Gold and Love.

After posting a shot from the new scent’s campaign, Kardashian wrote that the perfume “comes out this spring! It is so different than my other fragrances!” She went on to post another glam shot, this one where she was channeling Elizabeth Taylor, she told followers.

In the past, Kardashian has spoken about the meaning behind her scents, and the fact that they make her “feel sexy.” So will True Reflection follow suit? Are you excited about the new fragrance?

She had great success with her first scent, Purr, and her latest perfume, Meow!, just hit stores last month. So is a men’s fragrance next on Katy Perry‘s to-do list?

“I’m not sure,” she told reporters Wednesday during a promotional event at The Grove in Los Angeles. “I think I really know how to do female-related things. It might be a little more tricky to do a men’s fragrance. But maybe.”

So that’s not a no? “I don’t want to say no to anything,” she continued. “Just like Justin Bieber says, ‘Never say never.’ So maybe one day. For right now, I’m just doing Meow!.”

Sadly that means hubby Russell Brand will be left to buy his own colognes — unless he steals a spritz of Meow!. “I don’t know if he necessarily wears it,” she joked, “but I wouldn’t mind if he did. I would not judge him.”

With her Speak Now tour over, Taylor Swift is enjoying some downtime in Nashville, catching up with family, reconnecting with friends — and creating homemade snow globes.

“That was my first time making snow globes out of mason jars, antique Christmas trinkets and glitter,” she tells PEOPLE of her recent holiday experiment. “I found out how to do it on Pinterest. It made for a lovely winter activity day — [it] made me feel like a little kid again.”

From the sounds of it, Swift — who turns 22 today — will spend a lot of time reflecting on her childhood this season, considering her favorite family tradition is trimming “a big Christmas tree” with ornaments she and brother Austin made as kids. “It’s so nostalgic,” she says, “looking back at all the Christmases past and comparing them to how different our lives are now.”

“Now” means living life as a recording artist, being a recipient of CMT’s “Artist of the Year” award Tuesday night and releasing her first fragrance, Wonderstruck. “It turned out to be something I wear every day, and I’m so proud of how well it’s done,” she says of the scent. “I love it when people come up to me and tell me they wear it every day.”

The singer — whose toasty “Nashville holiday uniform” consists of sweaters, jeans and boots — is currently taking a break from the busyness, though, and focusing on shopping for friends. “I like to get my friends gifts that show that I really know them,” she explains. “If one of my friends says something about wanting something, I’ll write it down and get that for them for Christmas.”

Her own holiday wish list is a bit simpler: it includes a pasta maker, antique picture frames and “anything from Free People or Anthropologie,” she shares. She has big holiday hopes for her fans, too. “I hope that they’re happy, wherever they are … [that] they feel loved by the people around them,” she shares. “And most of all I hope they feel appreciated by me. My life would look nothing like this without them.”

Sex sells! After running a month-long contest to find the perfect commercial for his first fragrance, Phoenix, Keith Urban picked the winner recently, a steamy commercial by Littleton, Colo., resident Eric Noffsinger.

The 30-second spot, set to Urban’s song “Raining on Sunday,” stars actress Julie Lundy, who strips down and then suits back up in her boyfriend’s shirt, which carries the scent of Phoenix. It’s almost as sexy as the spoof Urban filmed with Ellen DeGeneres in October. (Kidding!)

Noffsinger’s commercial will air on Wednesday, Dec. 21 during ABC’s The View, and the novice filmmaker will receive tickets and airfare to an Urban concert in 2012, plus a prize-packed Phoenix gift set.

She’s all wet! Selena Gomez is taking a dip in the campaign photos for her first-ever fragrance — and we have a sneak peek.

Submerged in a water tank at Smashbox Studios in West Hollywood, the starlet, in a flowing mini, “reflects the actual fragrance bottle,” according to a release. Her dress is designed to move with the water, too. What the actual photo and video will look like remains to be seen — we’ll have to wait until the scent’s spring 2012 debut.

“I’m excited, [because] it’s something I’m interested in … I’m already doing the whole process of smelling things and designing it and the campaign and everything, so it’ll be fun,” Gomez told E! when announcing plans for the scent. “I am excited to make my own fragrance that is romantic, rich and sweet — I wanted to make a fragrance that is able to make my fans feel special,” she added to WWD.

In fact, fans will play a huge role in the creation of the scent: Gomez is asking them to log on to selenagomezperfumes.com to vote on the ingredients they’d like her to include in the perfume. When the voting period ends, the most popular notes will be incorporated into the finished scent. Plus, the first 100,000 U.S. participants will receive a free sample of the fragrance and be entered into a drawing to win a tour of the fragrance lab with Gomez. Now that’s the sweet smell of success.

She’s worn some of the sexiest lingerie in the world as a Victoria’s Secret model, but Heidi Klum believes there’s something even more sensual to wear under your clothes: perfume.

“For me, it’s something to complete the look. It’s almost kind of like great underwear,” she said. “No one can really see it but it makes you feel sassier and sexier.”

Speaking to PEOPLE at an event for her new fragrance, Shine, in New York’s Times Square last week, Klum said her scent — her first international fragrance — is “complicated. I really tried to look for something that didn’t exist, which is hard,” she explained. “I think 23 or 26 perfumes come out every year, and it’s hard to come up with something you haven’t smelled before.”

To that end, “Shine is a little more modern, powdery, but spicy,” she shared. “It’s a great marriage of sweet and spicy.” Notes include pink peppercorn, sunflower, lily of the valley, pear, mandarin orange and vanilla.

So to keep herself smelling sweet and spicy all day, Klum spritzes her scent in her hair, on her clothes — “I just kind of spray it everywhere,” she admitted. “And then I spray everyone else, too.” Including strangers!

“When we were in the elevator with security today, I sprayed it on all the guys,” she revealed. “Some of them I’ve known for years, but there was another guy I didn’t know.” She didn’t cut him any slack, though. Making spraying noises, she joked, “I was like, ‘I don’t know you, but ch ch.’”

When Mary J. Blige greets fans, they often tell her what perfume they’re wearing — because it’s usually one of hers. “[It happens] all the time,” she tells PEOPLE. “They say, ‘I’m wearing your fragrance, girl!’ It feels so good.”

Blige shattered HSN single-day sales records last year when she sold her first scent, My Life, on the shopping network, and she’s aiming to do it again Wednesday night at 10 p.m. ET when she performs live and sells her newest scent, My Life Blossom. “It feels so good,” she says of her success on the channel. “I never in a million years thought I would be on HSN selling fragrances but it’s something that I love and it just feels like a great accomplishment to put your heart and soul into something to give to women.”

Blige says she generally considers her fans when creating her scents. “I think about them the way I think about myself,” she explains. “How I like to smell. Not too strong or overbearing but still smart, sexy, feminine, edgy. I think about what women would like to wear.”

Currently she finds herself wearing My Life Blossom “because it’s a lighter, cleaner scent,” she says. “I love the sweet in the original My Life but there’s something about wearing a cleaner scent for me right now that’s reflective of my point in life.”

And with her recent success in the fragrance world, a foray into cosmetics might not be far off. “I’m thinking about it,” Blige reveals. “The fragrance business with HSN is definitely making me think about going further [into the industry].”

We already know she’s a Good Girl Gone Bad, but Rihanna plans to rebel even more with her second fragrance, Rebelle by Rihanna, hitting Macy’s stores this December, WWD reports.

Following in the footsteps of her highly successful first scent, Reb’l Fleur, Rebelle is in part the result of a video poll the singer ran on her site; when asking fans if they feel more like a rebel or a flower, 68 percent said rebel — and Rebelle was born.

“My grandmother in Barbados used to call me her Rebel Flower,” Rihanna told PEOPLE when her first fragrance launched earlier this year. As for the decision to create a scent? “Over the years, I layered many different scents to get something that was truly my own,” she explained. “But I wanted … something that said, ‘Rihanna was here.’ Something delicious and special, a fragrance with subtle hints that linger and leave a sexy memory.”

While Reb’l Fleur has notes of fruits, florals, vanilla and amber, Rebelle boasts wafts of strawberry, ginger, plum, cacao, coffee and musk — not quite as “dark” as the original.

Rebelle will retail for $49 for a 1.7-oz. spray, $59 for 3.4-oz. spray and $30 for a 6.7-oz. body lotion. She’s spent the past year on tour in a world covered with peppermints and cotton candy, and that saccharine inspiration has found its way into Katy Perry‘s new scent Meow!, in Nordstrom stores this week.

“The first fragrance (Purr) was more floral, by a long while, and this one is a lot more edible,” she told reporters last week during a launch event in New York City. “It’s the perfect snapshot of where my head is right now, especially being on tour,” during which her team pumps wafts of cotton candy into the arenas each night.

The scent features notes of honeysuckle and pear, with a base of vanilla, musk and amber. Prices range from $45 for a 1.7-oz. bottle to $65 for a 3.4-oz. spray.

The design of the pink, cat-shaped bottle was inspired in part by Perry’s youth. “I grew up going to flea markets, and all the vintage stores and the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles,” she explained. “I’d always look for milk glass — that beautiful, vintage milk glass that held candles, or salt and pepper. I definitely wanted to use it for Meow!.”

Though she’s entertained the idea of a third fragrance — named “Hiss,” she joked — Perry seems to have bigger plans — like a clothing line or accessory collection — in mind. But for now, she’s happy to make an impression through her two scents.

“I think that you can hear a song, and it’ll take you back to that moment, or that person, or that time in your life,” she explained. “Same thing with your sense of smell — it’s really powerful. So I thought I could make memories with people with Purr or Meow!.”

In fact, she’s had some of those sensory memories herself — just don’t tell husband Russell Brand. “I swear if I walk into an elevator and there’s Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio on anyone, I freak out,” she shared, revealing, “that was my first boyfriend.” Tell us: Are you excited for Perry’s new fragrance?

Two major singers, two major new scents. Madonna and Katy Perry are both one the verge of releasing new fragrances — Madge’s first, the California Gurl’s second — and both recently sat down with WWD to talk bottles, botanicals and more.

“I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me, but that other people could relate to as well,” Madonna tells WWD. “Something classical and timeless and yet modern.” Recalling the perfume her mother wore — which smelled like gardenias and tuberose — the singer say she wanted to “recreate this scent, but with something fresh and new about it as well.”

The result is a fragrance with top notes of gardenia, tuberose and neroil; a heart of jasmine and white lily petals; and a drydown of vanilla, amber and musk. The scent will hit U.S. Macy’s stores in late March, retailing from $55 to $68.

Perry’s Meow!, a follow-up to the wildly successful Purr, is “a little bit more sweet,” the singer tells WWD. “It was probably because of the California Dreams tour that it was more of the confectionary world, because everything I’ve seen for the last year has been like cotton-candy scented or huge peppermints or massive gummy bears.”

Meow! has top notes of tangerine, pear, gardenia and jasmine; a heart of honeysuckle, lily of the valley and orange blossom; and a drydown of vanilla, musk, amber and sandalwood.

The bottle, cat-shaped just like Purr, stands alone, Perry says. “It’s … really stunning and doesn’t need bells and whistles, or too much sparkle around it,” she shares. Arriving in Nordstrom stores and on nordstrom.com in mid-November, it’ll be available in two sizes, and priced from $45 to $65.

Country music’s first couple, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, are making beautiful music together again — with a new fragrance duet.

Soul2Soul, which is comprised of a woodsy His and a floral Hers scent, was inspired by their joint 2000 tour of the same name. “When our fans think of us together, besides thinking of family, they probably do think about their experience with [the tour],” McGraw tells WWD. “It was important to us to give them something that was familiar.”

Though both husband and wife have had their experience concocting scents — McGraw’s first scent with Coty Beauty launched in August 2008; Hill’s first followed in October 2009 — this is the first time they’ve put their noses together. “I like the collaborative process with her, for sure,” McGraw says, ultimately giving Hill the credit for the finished product: “I get to a certain point and finally just say, ‘What do you think, Faith?’”

And though McGraw claims his scent is for the type of guy who’s “going out on the weekend to have a few beers to [the] guy going out on a nice dinner with his wife,” his understanding of the delicate process belies the tough-guy act. “There’s a science to it, but it’s really, truly almost like baking,” he explains. “It’s the same way with creating a scent. It’s all about emotions.”

The former reality star and current designer is following in the footsteps of Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and a host of others, launching her own perfume in the near future.

“[Richie] has a wide breadth of creative talents being an author, a jewelry designer, a fashion designer and an aspirational figure,” TPR Holdings president Brian Robinson told WWD. Having 2.3 million Twitter followers helps her credibility in the style world, too. “They look favorably on her,” he added. “She’s done a great job with her image.”

Though very few details were revealed, Robinson, whose company holds the license for Richie’s upcoming scent, said the fragrance and packaging will reflect Richie’s “very distinct image,” and fans can expect a scent that will be “cool, classy and edgy.”

One year after her very first scent, Purr, hit shelves, Katy Perry is planning a second fragrance for November. The silly, sexy singer will launch this perfume — a companion piece to Purr — at Nordstrom stores and on nordstrom.com in November.

Purr, which was a top-seller around the globe for months, was intended to make the celebrity scent market “competitive,” Perry told WWD last year. “I saw a lot of my peers getting into this world, and, as with my music, I thought I could bring my touch to the category.” The fragrance — a combination of peach nectar, freesia, Bulgarian rose, apple and green bamboo — “was completely unlike anything I’d smelled before,” she said.

While Perry spoke openly about Purr and its cat-shaped bottle before it debuted last year, this time, she playing coy: starting next week, via Twitter, the singer will invite fans to guess the scent’s name.
