Jan/29/2016 at 10:33 AM ET

File this story under things that only happen in fairy tales (or A Cinderella Story). While the rest of us out there in the Twitter-verse are dutifully tweeting away unnoticed by our favorite celebs (well, unless you’re that girl who’s been tweeting at Jake T. Austin for the past five years) one teen named Jessica Casanova might get to wear Gina Rodriguez‘s 2015 Golden Globes dress thanks to a fateful exchange on the social media site.

Golden Globes 2016: Here's Why Kylie Jenner's Afterparty Outfit Looks So Familiar

Jan/11/2016 at 01:56 PM ET

If you thought the Golden Globes would be a Kardashian-free zone, you were wrong. Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner had a “hot date” night at the InStyle afterparty, and Kylie wore a look that immediately gave us a case of fashion déjà vu.

Golden Globes 2016: The Best Afterparty Dresses of the Night

Jan/11/2016 at 12:50 PM ET

As if the pressure of landing of the Golden Globes red carpet Best Dressed list isn’t enough, there are also the afterparties to consider — after all, if your dress weighs 35 pounds or has a long train, you might want to streamline things a bit. And while there were a ton of must-see party dresses (check out all 31 here!), Jennifer Lawrence’s mini moment, Kate Bosworth‘s strapless swap and Caitriona Balfe’s on-trend gowns completely stole the show.

Golden Globes 2016: Lady Gaga, Olivia Wilde and More Best Dressed (According to Our Editors!)

Jan/11/2016 at 10:50 AM ET

Now that we’ve seen all the glamorous (and OMG-inducing!) looks hit the Golden Globe red carpet, we’ve narrowed down our top style moves below. (Don’t see your favorite? Sound off in the comments!)

Lady Gaga Golden GlobesGetty

Lady Gaga
Alex Apatoff, Senior Style and Beauty Editor: For the past five years, I’ve declared Lady Gaga’s style “exhausting.” But this whole Old Hollywood thing she’s working on the red carpet recently has made me totally rethink my position. This gorgeous, sculptural velvet Atelier Versace gown, accented with a gazillion dollars of Neil Lane Jewels, is the pinnacle of reto glamour … I guess you could say I’m Gaga for it. (Ba-dum-PSH!)

Olivia Wilde Golden GlobesGetty

Olivia Wilde
Brittany Talarico, Style News Editor: The last time she hit the Golden Globes red carpet, Olivia Wilde was six months pregnant and still topped best dressed lists across the board in her glittering green custom Gucci creation. This time she showed off her amazing post-baby body in a super-plunging sequin Michael Kors Collection gown, accessorized with a chunky jeweled choker, cocktail ring and gold clutch (all Bulgari), and Aldo heels. And in my opinion, that plunge was the best fashion risk of the night.

Kirsten Dunst Golden GlobesGetty

Kirsten Dunst
Andrea Lavinthal, Style and Beauty Director: Yes, this plunging Valentino Haute Couture gown is practically begging for a “Kirsten’s golden globes” joke, but once you get past the startling amounts of cleavage, you can focus on the flawless design elements. It’s relatively simple from the front, featuring subtle detailing at the shoulders and midsection. But the back is a masterpiece of skinny straps, which means the star commanded the spotlight from the front (because, you know), and maintained all that attention as she walked away.

Julianne Moore
Catherine Kast, Style Editor: There just isn’t a cooler high-fashion friendship out there than the one between Tom Ford and his muse Julianne Moore. When they team up, it’s a given that the look will be a hit. This custom sapphire-blue creation hits the perfect note for Moore: When you’re last year’s winner, it’s not all about you and your red carpet choices have to reflect that. This dress is just show-stopping enough, thanks to tactful sparkles, a bold color that pops against her red hair and my personal favorite element of the dress, the asymmetrical neckline. It’s like she and Tom are ever-so-slightly hinting at the ubiquitous choker-gown trend but making it look grown-up.

Alicia Vikander Golden GlobesGetty

Alicia Vikander
Colleen Kratofil, Style Writer-Reporter: I’ve been anticipating Alicia Vikander’s red carpet season debut after falling in love with her style throughout her promo tour for The Danish Girl. And thanks to this pleated, ruffled, shimmery Louis Vuitton gown (with completely exposed back), she just solidified the title as “one to watch” this season.

Uzo Aduba Golden GlobesGetty

Uzo Adbuba
Jackie Fields, Beauty Editor: The Orange Is the New Black actress may not have taken home a Golden Globe, but Uzo Aduba won my heart in this glimmering black gown. I was smitten by the head-to-toe sparkle, and the structured shoulder/high-low sleeve combo. Yet while the dress was show-stoppng, her brand new bob and berry lip were still able to shine as well.

Jillian Ruffo, Associate Beauty Editor: Two things that never fail to win me over: sequins and plunging necklines. Which is why it’s safe to say that this dress is my dream come true.

Taylor Schilling Golden GlobesGetty

Taylor Schilling
Lindy Segal, Social Media Editor: I love a good suit on the red carpet, but it’s rare that one actually tops my personal best-dressed list. A warning to my coworkers: I might be copying Taylor Schilling’s sexy, sparkly custom Thakoon tuxedo in the office this week (but I’ll wear a cami underneath, promise).

Amy Adams Golden GlobesGetty

Amy Adams
Sarah Ball, Market Editor: I choose Amy Adams in Versace. I love the color with her hair. It’s simple but super chic. The color is bold and striking and the fit is amazing. I also love that she didn’t overdo it with her hair and accessories.

Brie LarsonGetty

Brie Larson
Sarah Kinonen, Style & Beauty Editorial Assistant: It’s hard to believe this is was Brie Larson’s first Golden Globes. From her sexy sparkly custom Calvin Klein Collection dress, which was hand-embroidered with topaz crystal, to her sleek straight strands, everything about her look was a high-fashion home run. I’m excited to see what sort of dazzling looks she’s got in store for the rest of award show season! Bring it on, Brie!

Hey Katy-cats, did you expect Katy Perry to rock some major bling or at the very least debut a new hair color at her first-ever Golden Globes? Not this awards show. That’s because Perry tapped superhero stylist Leslie Fremar (who works with Julianne Moore, Reese Witherspoon and Charlize Theron, among others), to create a pitch-perfect ensemble for the red carpet.
