Sometimes you just want to give a celeb a high five to let them know they’ve been dressing well recently. So here’s ours: Lindsay, your style is improving. High five!
Now that she’s a serious actress in London’s “Speed-the-Plow” and, by all accounts, showing up for work and being polite to people involved, we’re moving on from this lace sunglasses moment (to be fair, she was leaving a Mardi Gras-themed party), and are focusing on her newly demure head-to-toe black looks and one not-too-body-con sparkly frock.

For the 59th annual Women of the Year Lunch (left), Lohan opted for a dress with a structured shoulder and buttoned-up pointy Petr Pan collar that elevates it past basic LBD and timeless black pumps. Poof! Businesslike and ladylike, perfect for a lunch surrounded by “women of the year.” For the red carpet at the event (center), she added a simple black coat to the dress and belted it, adding some length to the mini hemline.
Editors are divided on Lohan’s choice of a glittery Givenchy long-sleeved dress for the press night after party for her play. It’s show-stopping without being too-clingy, and the at-the-knee length makes this look more stage siren than country pop sensation. The similarly sparkly heels are a bit too matchy-matchy, but if you choose the same dress as Naomi Watts has worn, you’re doing something right, stylewise.
She’s also bringing some more sophisticated looks to her Instagram — case in point:
The hemlines are longer, the heels more tasteful, and the accessories? Understated. Lindsay, keep up the good work!

Despite recently blaming her man for causing her to gain what is affectionately known around here as “the boyfriend layer,” we think the look of love is really working for the The Two Faces of January star. She’s been stepping out to events all over NYC, and we’ve got to say, her style streak has been both unprecedented and seriously on-point.

Nicole Richie is doing double-duty for her clothing collections — first stopping by an NYC Bloomingdale’s to promote her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry this weekend, then curating a bunch of (killer) picks for Piperlime, then jetting off to QVC HQ to tout her latest line for the home shopping retailer. And she found time to chat with us en route about what to expect from this upcoming collaboration.
Vogue‘s “73 Questions” series is doing a serious service for the world, bringing us inside the lives of stars about whose lives we always wonder (Sarah Jessica Parker! Blake Lively!) And today they’re taking that even further into uncharted territory, cornering the elusive Vogue EIC Anna Wintour. Want to know what her Conde Nast office looks like? Done. What time she wakes up in the morning? Sure! What she’s reading right now? You get the picture.
Overalls and crop tops are in a tight race for the most popular look of the summer — one’s got a youthful, laid-back appeal and the other shows a ton of skin. So it was just a matter of time before someone combined the best parts of both into one interesting look. Jaime King’s recent styling of her denim overalls-meets-jumpsuit situation is certainly discussion worthy, so please join us in studying the photo below:
