When shoe-designer-to-the-stars Giuseppe Zanotti turned up at Manhattan’s Saks Fifth Avenue on Friday afternoon, he wasn’t the only famous face to surprise shoppers. Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively took a break from shooting her hit series to meet the man and chat fall shoes. Blake, who sports Zanotti both on-set and on the red carpet, instantly impressed the designer. “Blake Lively is a true Giuseppe Zanotti woman,” the designer tells PEOPLE. “The Giuseppe Zanotti woman loves fashion and enjoys being up-to-date. She is self-confident and has a strong personality.” He continues, “She told me that she creates her own style; I think that makes her authentic and special.” One key to Blake’s much-coveted style? Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, of course! The actress spent most of the afternoon trying on pair after pair — and even left with a pair of boots signed by the designer himself. But even if you weren’t lucky enough to get a personal shopping experience with Giuseppe Zanotti, the designer did share his top fall shoe tips that he says will refresh any look: thigh-high boots and open-toe booties. Looks like Lindsay isn’t the only Lohan working as a designer these days. Just days after her daughter’s Paris runway debut as Ungaro’s artistic advisor, Dina Lohan has announced she will be launching a shoe line, appropriately named “Shoe-Han”, for Long Island based chain store LoveMyShoes.com. And that’s not all, the former E! reality star will also take on the role as national spokesmodel for the retailer appearing later this month on television and radio commercials. And now, we finally have a closer look at what will be hitting stores this November. On the heels of Matthew Williamson’s boldly printed summer line, H&M has announced its next high-end collaboration with star-favorite accessories brand Jimmy Choo. The luxury shoe line, which is a red carpet favorite of stars like Kate Hudson, Vanessa Hudgens, Jessica Alba, Beyonce and more, will not only be creating a women’s and men’s collection of shoes, bags and accessories, but will be extending its range to a women’s clothing line. This marks the first designer accessory collaboration for H&M. Over 350 fans turned out to Nordstrom at the Grove in L.A. this Saturday to get a first-hand look at Fergie’s new footwear line. And while the style maven sipped iced tea and signed autographs for waiting fans, she dished with PEOPLE.com about her recessionista-friendly line, priced between $69-$129. The expansive collection — aptly named Fergie — includes everything from signature zip-up gladiator heels to chic flats to strappy sandals adorned with peace signs and sneakers emblazoned with the singer’s initials. “I would feel really irresponsible right now to have a line that was completely out of my fans’ price range, so I feel really good about it,” she said. And inspiration behind the collection came right out of the newlywed’s real-life experience, with husband Josh Duhamel having an unexpected influence on his wife’s favorite pair from the collection, the “Pepper” gladiator platforms. “You know I’m 5′4″,” she explains, “So these are for girls like me who want a little height — especially being that my husband is almost 6′4″!”

But it wasn’t just footwear that was on Fergie’s mind. The former blonde explained the decision to go brunette. “It’s kind of a new era for me. I’m married, new Black Eyed Peas [album], getting back with them. I’m in a new place in my life and just evolving, and I wanted a change. And I’m not scared of change at all.” So comes the age-old question, do blondes really have more fun? Apparently not, according to Fergie. “I’m really having fun with it,” she said. Another major upside to the darker do? Getting to wear pink again. “It’s just funny because I didn’t want to look like a complete Barbie doll before, but now it has no relevance,” she says of reintroducing the rosy shade into her wardrobe. Kanye West has officially turned sneaker designer. The hip-hop star and self-proclaimed Louis Vuitton Don turned his love of sneakers — he has over 400 pairs! — into a high-end collaboration with Louis Vuitton. Out of the five styles he’s created for the iconic brand, a style with a quilted back debuted during the line’s fall menswear presentation in Paris yesterday. After the show, WWD caught up with the new footwear designer to hear more. “I was inspired by the movie Dune. The collection had all these jackets that were very padded. They looked like maybe they had hockey pads in the jacket, and there was one where the collar came up really high. I took that element, and I put that on the back of the shoe. It’s like the opposite of the tongue. Usually you have the tongue at the front. [This is] like a tongue at the back,” explained Kanye. Working with Marc Jacobs, Kanye’s favorite designer whom he dubs the Jay-Z of the fashion world, was a blessing. “To me, Louis Vuitton is the most important brand in fashion. I am proud to have collaborated with LV on these shoes and even more proud of the finished product,” the artist says in a statement. On the flip side, Marc Jacobs tells WWD that he was impressed by Kanye’s dedication to his work, saying “I think Kanye goes to the office more than I do. Who doesn’t love shoe shopping? Well, country star Kellie Pickler shared her joy in hitting the famous 10022-SHOE department at Saks Fifth Avenue. She blogs on her MySpace page, “As soon as I arrived on Sunday [in N.Y.C.] I jumped off the plane and headed straight to my favorite place in Manhattan, the shoe department in Saks 5th Avenue!!!” And she even offers tips for those of us who might not have been there yet. “For first timers….just look for the elevator that says “Express Elevator To Shoes”….it’s like an elevator to heaven. lol. Two years ago Kate Moss took her supermodel style to the masses when she collaborated with British affordable chain Topshop. Good news for all the fashionistas couldn’t get enough of her high fashion styles with main street prices. Topshop has announced the extension of the Kate Moss for Topshop collection for another three years–plus the addition of shoes and lingerie. “The last two years have been an exciting experience, and Topshop has given me the perfect platform to develop my own collection, which is something that I have wanted to do for a long time. I am really looking forward to working with the Topshop team on our new collections and thank everybody who already owns a piece of Kate Moss for Topshop!” Kate said in a statement to the press. What’s better is that with the launch of the Topshop US e-commerce site in September and the much-anticipated New York flagsip store opening in March, Kate’s designs will be widely available on this side of the pond. Good Charlotte’s Joel and Benji Madden are expanding their DCMA Collective lifestyle brand just in time for the holidays, celebrating their new K-DCMA shoe line at their flagship store in L.A. on Saturday night. “We wanted to do shoes for a while,” Joel tells PEOPLE. “We just wanted to find the right company to do it with. K-Swiss is cool. It’s a classic label. And skating, graffiti, rock and roll, those are all the things we do. It’s a good marriage.” The shoes, which come in lace-up sneaker and slip-on styles for both men and women and range from $60 to $70, feature DCMA’s signature prints (think skulls, hearts, lightening bolts) with their brass knuckle logo hardware and printed shoelaces. But they won’t be around for long — only 1,800 pairs of each style will be made. Joel’s girlfriend Nicole Richie tells PEOPLE she’s already a fan. “They go along with the whole DCMA style. I actually have a few pairs,” says Richie, who recently designed her first jewelry line with Mouawad, House of Harlow 1960. “I wear them when I’m not wearing heels.” While the rockers say their shoes are for “anyone,” there are a few celebrities they’d like to get in their kicks. “Russell Crowe, Brad Pitt, Benicio del Toro,” suggests Benji. Adds Joel: “I’d like to see [our friend] Pete Wentz wearing them. ” They already have two satisfied customers — Joel’s 11-month-old daughter Harlow and niece Clementine, who have custom-made baby versions that aren’t available to the public. As Fergie gets set to release her two-part shoe line, Fergie/Fergalicious, in February 2009, the singer headed to New York to meet with Brown Shoes’ designers to talk footwear. But what’s the scoop on the collection for all of us who can’t wait til February to see it? “I wanted to express my style sensibilities through the shoe designs, and create looks that fashionable women will love to wear,” Fergie tells PEOPLE. “Both collections have their own subtle iconic ornamentation and details representing symbols that are important to me, and recognized by my fans.” Fergie is also making sure her lines are affordable to all her fans. The first, “Fergie”, line retails between $89-$129 and the second, “Fergalicious”, line retails between $49-$59. We can’t wait to see what Fergie has in store for us. Joining the likes of star-favorite designers like Lela Rose, Stacey Bendet for Alice + Olivia, Patricia Fields and more, the Project Runway winner will lend his skills to a line for Payless, Christian Siriano for Payless. Siriano has inked a multi-season deal with the affordable retailer to produce his first stand-alone line of shoes and handbags. “I’m so excited to design and create with such an amazing brand that is all about fashion and trend but, most importantly, is also about affordability,” said Christian in a press statement. “I can’t wait to see how [Payless] will take the high-end shoes and bags I’m designing for the runway and turn them into pieces that everyone can buy. I’m all about the runway and the sidewalks!” Christian’s Payless collection will be unveiled at his runway show at New York Fashion Week next February and then exclusively available in Payless stores and Payless.com in fall ‘09 with price points expected to be in the $25 – $45 range. What Hollywood fashionista doesn’t love an excuse to indulge in shoes? And at last week’s Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award event honoring Manolo Blahnik, everyone from Lucy Liu to Hilary Duff, January Jones and Nicky Hilton had their best excuse yet. Liu, who presented Blahnik with the award, wore his chic and strappy sandals. “These shoes are incredibly comfortable,” she told PEOPLE. “They’re slip-ons first of all, and they’re incredibly elegant. I love the idea of detail that he puts into his shoes — and they’re super comfortable.” As for how many pairs of Manolos Liu owns, “You literally cannot count!” she laughs. As guests milled around, drinking mojitos and looking at the iconic designs displayed in Lucite boxes, Hilton dished about what she thinks makes the designer’s shoes so popular. “You just feel good in them,” she said. “They’re so fun and they’re all so different.
