Move over Whitney, there’s a new designer in The City. “Social” Olivia Palermo is channeling her love of accessories into a limited edition collection of five necklaces for New York designer Roberta Freymann. It’s shaping up to be a big week for New York Housewives star Ramona Singer. Not only is she returning to television for the third season of the popular Bravo show, but she’s also making a solo appearance Tuesday, March 2 on HSN to launch her second collection of estate jewels. “This has been a dream come true,” the reality star-turned-designer tells PEOPLE. “To create these things and to see how well they come out and [then] get the reaction from people is just so thrilling.” And after launching her debut line back in September, Ramona has become a hit on the TV shopping network. “People are in awe. They can’t believe the quality and look for the price,” says Singer. For her HSN follow-up, ranging in price from $200 to $550, she was inspired by the oversize earrings and blue rings worn by the late Princess Diana. “To me, that was so regal and beautiful,” she says. When Nicole Richie fessed up during a Monday taping of the Late Show with David Letterman (airing on Friday, February 19) that she and Joel Madden were engaged, all eyes immediately fell on the stunning sparkler on her left hand. So what’s the low-down on Richie’s engagement bling? The handmade, round diamond ring is over four carats and is the work of celeb jeweler Neil Lane. “Nicole wanted a beautiful, special ring and wanted to be intimately involved in the design,” Lane tells PEOPLE exclusively. So over the last month, Richie and Lane poured over options and collaborated on the design, with Lane finishing it up just last week in time for Richie’s Letterman appearance. “Nicole was lovely and wonderful to work with on it! It’s a Kardashian style takeover! With their clothing line for bebe set to hit stores in two days, the Kardashian sisters aren’t letting you forget about their other soon-to-launch fashion project: an Armenian-inspired jewelry line for L.A.-based brand Virgin Saints and Angels. Though the baubles won’t hit stores until April, Khloe Kardashian is already offering up a sneak peek. Taking to her official website she writes, “Well I’m very excited to finally be able to share some of the fab pieces from the collection with you. The design was inspired by our Armenian heritage and there’s a great deal of symbolism behind each piece. We’ve all worked very hard on this project and my sisters and I are absolutely thrilled with the way the line turned out! She’s one of Hollywood’s most iconic small screen vixens, but this spring, 76-year-old actress Joan Collins is trading acting for modeling as the face of jewelry designer Alexis Bittar’s poster campaign. Launching to coincide with fashion week, the ads will loom large on billboards across New York City. Reprising the signature glamour that earned her fame as Alexis on the set of Dynasty in the 1980s, Collins appears highly made up and adorned in statement costume jewels — a love she’s been cultivating for decades. “I don’t collect real jewels as I travel so much but I have a vast selection of costume jewelry since I was a teenager,” she was recently quoted as saying according to a release for the campaign, continuing, “Alexis Bittar is by far my favorite costume jewelry designer [...] His whimsical designs suit my personality effortlessly. I always feel glamorous and sexy whenever I adorn myself in his creations.” And the feeling was clearly mutual. After the success of her home and bedding line for JCPenney, Cindy Crawford is branching out for the national retailer — this time into jewelry. This April, the iconic all-American supermodel will launch an affordable 40-piece jewelry collection, ranging from $79 to $299, called One Kiss exclusively for JCPenney. The collection, described as simple yet sophisticated, will feature pieces made of sterling silver, gemstones and diamonds inspired by the henna symbol that translates to ‘kiss.’ “[The symbol] was cool, but I love what it means,” she tells WWD of her choice for the name. “It’s not necessarily a romantic kiss, it could be a mother’s kiss. Following a trip to Botswana and South Africa last December to learn more about improvements made in the diamond mining industry, actress, fashion designer, and InStyle contributing editor Rachel Bilson was inspired to take matters into her own hands to promote the cause. InStyle reports that the 28-year-old star has just created a bracelet to benefit the Diamond Empowerment Fund, a non-profit that supports education in Africa. The new Bilson-designed accessory strikes a nice balance between rugged and refined, comprised of earthy brown leather cords punctuated by a twisted gold charm that frames a dainty, sparkly round diamond. Though she plays cupid for a living, Patti Stanger of Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker is off the market herself. In May, the reality star got engaged to her real estate executive boyfriend Andy Friedman – but not without the perfect sparkler. “It’s four carats,” Stanger, tells PEOPLE. “It’s a heart shaped diamond. It’s in a white-gold setting — not a platinum, believe it or not — because platinum gets tarnished.” Fans of her show, which returns for its third season tonight, know the 48 year-old is quick to voice her opinions, which also extended to finding the ideal rock. “I always said, ‘Nobody ever had a heart-[shaped] ring,’” she declares. “And I said if I ever get a diamond ring, I want it to be heart [shaped]. So he was cute and he remembered it and copied a picture of it –- and he went to his friend who’s a designer. He designed the ring from scratch. He spent four months designing it.” Stanger continues: “My fiancé did major research,” she says. “Most people go platinum but there’s a lot of upkeep [with platinum]. And it’s a non-conflict stone from Israel. It’s a really high quality stone. He really did the right thing by me. More details have emerged about Carrie Underwood’s gorgeous engagement ring. The sizeable center stone, first spotted when Underwood flashed her ring while cheering on fiancé Mike Fisher and the rest of his Ottawa Senators teammates at their Monday night game, is actually a flawless yellow diamond, designed for her by jeweler Johnathon Arndt, who said in a release, “This ring is a symbol of love from Mike Fisher to Carrie Underwood,” as he wished the couple congratulations. This isn’t the first time the American Idol alum has worn Arndt’s baubles: back in 2007 at the Country Music Awards, the 26 year-old performed her hit “So Small” in a diaphanous canary yellow chiffon gown bedecked with the jeweler’s twin imperial jadeite and diamond butterfly pins worth a staggering six million dollars! Carrie Underwood certainly has a lot to smile about this holiday season. The newly engaged 26 year-old country singer turned up at her fiancé Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher’s game last night flashing some major sparkle on her left hand. A spokesperson from the Diamond Information Center estimates the brilliant round diamond comes in at whopping five-plus carats, with an estimated value of close to $150,000. Whew! Underwood, who famously declared her affection for her beau in the liner notes of her recent album, Play On (“I love you so much!” she wrote. “You make my life better in every way! The famous redhead will appear in Bulgari’s spring summer 2010 jewelry and watch advertising campaign. Shot by famed photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot in a Beverly Hills house, Julianne lounges in an exotic and opulent room decorated in rich brocades, jewel tone satins and peacock feathers while modeling 115-carat Colombian teardrop emerald earrings, Serpenti snake bracelets and the label’s new “Chandra” bag in chestnut and Prussian blue leather, according to Bulgari. The ads, which are being called “Eccentric Charisma”, will debut in February 2010. In an effort to find the perfect couples’ gift for Elton John and David Furnish, Sharon Stone took matters into her own hands and designed custom rings for the duo. The results, made in conjunction with Italian jeweler Damiani—a gold eternity band bedecked with 2 carat rough diamonds for John, a silver eternity ring with 5 carat diamonds for Furnish—inspired a just-unveiled collection called “Maji” (which means “water” in Swahili) that also includes pendants, earrings, and bracelets. The for-charity pieces (proceeds benefit an organization called “A Drop In A Bucket”, which builds water wells in Africa) are done in burnished metals with raw diamonds for a masculine, undone look, and each one is signed by the actress. At their new London boutique, Damiani’s Vice President, Silvia Damiani, told PEOPLE more about the collaboration with Stone, “This collection, which will be launching this Christmas with a men’s range, was her idea. It took four years to develop. The idea came about as Sharon has a lot of friends in the gay community and she also wanted to give something special to her friends Elton John and his partner David Furnish.” Damiani continues, “I really like the way Sharon thinks,” she said. “She sees things in a different perspective and has a very clear vision in her mind. Ask new jewelry designer Alicia Keys to choose a favorite piece from her collection of handcrafted necklaces co-created with The Barber’s Daughters designer Gisele Theriault, and you’ll find she’s hard pressed to do so. “They’re all so beautiful,” the Grammy award-winning R&B singer told PEOPLE during a preview of the line on Tuesday. “I definitely love the one we chose [to benefit Keep A Child Alive, for] the Black Ball. It says, ‘The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others,’ which is a Gandhi quote — which I love.” Items from the Fall 2010 line range in price between $85 to $2,500, but each is inscribed with inspirational sayings which Keys and Theriault collaborated on choosing. “We both love words,” Keys explains. “She’s a great writer and I love to write.” In fact, it wasn’t even until Keys met Theriault through her bandmates that Alicia got the idea to design. “In regards to her jewelry, how it can spread such an uplifting message — I love the fact that that’s the focus of the pieces. Of course they’re beautiful aesthetically, but the purpose is more how the words influence us.” Now that she has a taste of design, would she ever branch into apparel line or even fragrance? “Sure, the world is endless and possible — as long as it resonates with that message,” Alicia emphasizes.
