Heidi Klum: “The ‘Heidi Barbie’ Voice Makes Seal Crazy!”

Heidi Klum’s latest role? Voicing “Heidi Barbie,” the 11.5-inch mini-me version of the supermodel and “Project Runway” host, who attended New York Fashion Week in place of Klum, who was back in L.A. with husband Seal awaiting the birth of her fourth child. The doll, whose voice sounds like a fast-talking version of Klum on helium, interviewed such style luminaries as Michael Kors, Rachel Zoe and Mario Testino backstage at the fashion shows. “The ‘Heidi Barbie’ voice makes Seal crazy,” says Klum, who “was just riffing” when voicing the doll’s interviews and observations (sample line: “This is my first time hailing a caaaab in New York City!”), according to her rep. Of course, Heidi Barbie was appropriately attired in a sequined minidress, Victoria’s Secret undies and a ring by jeweler-to-the-stars Lorraine Schwartz. Orlando, Blake, Claire and More Celebrate Burberry Day in N.Y.C.

Jamie McCarthy/WireImage

“We’ve even branded the weather tonight,” joked Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey of the London-like misty drizzle that fell on the brand’s rooftop fete at the Palace Hotel in N.Y.C where a few of his famous friends including Orlando Bloom, Hugh Dancy and his fiance Claire Daines came to party and to watch the lighting of the Burberry sign atop the new company’s new headquarters at 444 Madison. “Yes, Hugh and Claire are good friends,” confirmed Bailey. “And Orlando [Bloom] wears Burberry a lot.” On Bailey’s arm when he arrived was supermodel — and Burberry face — Lily Donaldson. “I love her personality,” he said. “I love being with her.” Once inside the party, Bailey formed an impenetrable clique with Bloom, Dancy, and Daines. As the Burberry sign was lit at 444 Madison, Madison Avenue closed down for a shower of confetti, which inadvertently halted the arrival of other famous faces including Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, and Justin Long. Meanwhile, art imitated life when Lively and Badgley stepped out early and headed downstairs to a to the Palace Hotel restaurant Gilt, where Gossip Girl shoots numerous scenes, for an intimate private dinner. Molly Sims, Carla Gugino, Emmanuelle Chiriqui, Rose McGowan and Helena Christensen also attended the Burberry event — all clad in the label’s finery. “It’s an iconic moment for us,” said Bailey, as the end of official Burberry Day in N.Y.C. rolled to a glamorous close. –Jeffrey Slonim
