Lauren Conrad Cuts Bangs. What Do You Think?

Lauren Conrad must have heard that we were wondering if her favorite hairstyle was starting to feel a little same-y, because she just shook things up in a big way.

Earlier this week, the star said on Twitter that she was “flirting with the idea” of bangs, but we figured she was bluffing: The star has had the same long, sideswept, slightly ombré waves for years.

Nicole Kidman Wears Anne Hathaway’s Rumored Abandonded Oscars Gown

When we saw Nicole Kidman glide down the the Cannes red carpet in this striking ivory lace Valentino Haute Couture gown, we thought for a moment we were seeing the best. Fashion Faceoff. Ever.

Then we realized: This dress hadn’t been worn before. In fact, it had reportedly rather famously been unworn by Anne Hathaway, who was said to have had it all lined up for the Oscars before ditching it at the last moment for a pale pink Prada column.

PHOTOS: See all the unbelievable Cannes fashion in one place!

Hathaway’s decision to change Oscar gowns was so last minute that Valentino even sent out an announcement that she would be wearing the look before she hit the Oscars red carpet, prompting the Best Actress winner to release a remorseful statement. And though everyone kissed and made up, we couldn’t help but feel a little hurt that we’d never see the lovely look on the red carpet.

Fortunately Kidman came through for us, continuing her streak of knockout Cannes looks by donning the elegant, embellished confection to the premiere of Nebraska — and looking amazing while doing so. Jaw-dropping dangling earrings and a Princess Grace-approved sideswept chignon completed the look.

Tell us: What do you think of the gown? Should Hathaway have worn it to the Oscars?

Issa Designer, Famed for Kate’s Engagement Dress, Quits Her Line

Since Duchess Catherine stepped out in that iconic blue dress to announce her engagement to Prince William back in 2010, the British label Issa London has skyrocketed in popularity and almost become synonymous with the Duchess’s refined style (she’s in another Issa creation, left).

Now, its founder and creative director Daniella Helayel has decided to move on.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Helayel says, “It was amazing creating Issa … but now I’m ready for a new challenge and a new beginning. Something bigger and better coming soon.”

She added in a statement to WWD, “Creating Issa has been one of the most rewarding things in my life. I may be leaving, but the Issa girl will live forever in my heart.”

Founded in 2004 when the Brazilian-born designer noticed a gap in the market for pretty day-to-night dresses for her glamorous friends, the label achieved global success after the loyal patronage of celebrity friends, in particular the Duchess of Cambridge. In fact, Kate’s overnight boost for the brand created so much publicity and demand that it nearly bankrupted Issa as it struggled to keep up.

While the departure is said to be by mutual agreement (Helayel sold a majority share of the company in 2011 to Camilla Al Fayed – daughter of former Harrods owner Mohammed Al Fayed) Helayel will stay at the label to complete the Banana Republic Issa London collaboration, due in stores in August, and will depart at the end of the year, the label confirms in a statement.

Helayel will be succeeded by Blue Farrier, who has previously worked at Chloé, Stella McCartney and Anya Hindmarch.

You Know You’re Famous When … Designers Name Their Clothes After You!

There are so many things we don’t have in common with celebrities. We don’t fly in private jets to beautiful islands. We hardly ever get to don couture gowns and walk up the stairs at Cannes. And we certainly do not have any designers naming clothes after us, no matter how much we would like that.

We recently spotted Pippa Middleton (bottom left) toting her Kate Spade New York “Catherine Street Pippa” bag around London. The style was given her moniker as a nod for being such a big fan of the brand, but it’s not even the first bag to carry her name — her go-to Modalu satchel was renamed for her in 2011. (It seems to be a Middleton sister perk: Her sister Kate’s Whistles blouse was renamed “the Kate” when it was reissued.)

Kate Hudson’s capsule collection for Ann Taylor just arrived — and we’ve already finalized our wish list.

The blonde beauty expanded her role at the company from merely being the face of the line to contributing her style sensibility to a limited number of pieces for the brand, all of which reflect her own simple, carefree style and easygoing personality.

“I love soft, sensual shapes and this collection really captures that,” Hudson tells PEOPLE of her designs. “It’s sexy, tasteful and easy to dress up or dress down.”

Want to get a little wild with your eye makeup this weekend, but you aren’t quite ready to break out the four-color cerulean gel palette?

You’re not alone. So we recommend starting slow with a pretty look like Emma Roberts’s, worn an Intermix bash last night.

With her body-hugging blue mini in mind, makeup artist Nick Barose highlighted her eyes with a coordinating hue (see a full look here) and kept the rest of her look fresh and spring-y.

“We did a modern take on ’60s mod eyes, using the Revlon PhotoReady Kajal Intense Eyeliner+ Brightener in Blue Nile,” he tells us (don’t rush out to buy it yet — makeup artists get products before the rest of us!).
