Blake Lively: I'll Even Wear Perfume in My Pajamas!

09/04/2014 at 12:01 PM ET

If you’ve already anointed Blake Lively as your lifestyle guru (that hair! That baking talent! That website!) we’ve got some more great beauty advice straight from the source.

The face of Gucci Première fragrances (who gives PEOPLE an exclusive peek at the Eau de Toilette launch in this week’s issue) dished about what perfume means to her in an Q&A with us (and in the video below). “Fragrance is a big part of one’s identity. It’s one of the very few things I do every day, is put on fragrance,” she says. “If I’m not wearing makeup, if my hair’s not done, if I’m walking around in pajamas, I still have fragrance on. You know, I brush my teeth, I put on my perfume.”

Makes perfect sense for the star, who says “glamour is a state of mind.” And though she is often spotted looking like the textbook definition of glamour at events like Cannes, Lively tells PEOPLE that her aesthetic will change day to day. “Every day it’s different … I love the history and story of fashion so I love dressing in different decades,” she says. “I think the best thing to do on the red carpet is just whatever makes you feel the most comfortable and the most confident. Everyone has their own version of that.”

For more from Lively, check out the video, above, and pick up this week’s PEOPLE, on stands now.

How do you wear your fragrance? Do you agree with her take on glamour?

Geez Blake, all women wear perfume in their pyjamas….duh. Especially if we have a man in our life. Women have been doing this since perfume was invented.

These are all things women know. We even have 3, 4, up to 10 different ones and change them with season or even mood. Looks like someone is growing up.

@Jan, why end your opinionated (and implausible assumption) sentence with “duh”. She was in all ways effective in the interview, well-spoken, offered a couple pieces of advice that was helpful to one reader, me.
And why would you feel the need to be snarky in your next (incomplete) sentence? How far (up) away has your head been? She’s MARRIED, not just, “if we have a man in our life.”
But, ok, now that it’s been established the lives have the man-quotient, I’m going to suggest you do some research on the subject (perfume, after sentence structure) so if there is a next time that you write “women have been doing this since perfume was invented.” (Recap: (not verbatim, the gist) that women have been putting perfume on their pj’s since it was invented.) Perfume was invented in 1000 B.C. for religious ceremonies. On a side note, I’m not sure pj’s were the norm for slumber at that time.
But this is what I really want to say: BE NICE TO ONE ANOTHER!

I really can’t stand her.

This ain’t news Blakey! Perfume is a HUGE PART of every woman’s life! (Eye roll).

Heather on

I do like her. But, of course she’s going to say that when she is the face of a perfume!

Ok, so this interview was based on perfume because she’s promoting Gucci Perfume. Everyone saying duh, blah blah we ALL do that geez! What exactly was she supposed to say and what exactly would you have to say about it? What was she supposed to talk about for an interview about perfume? There’s not a wide or long lasting discussion that could go on about it. “I put on perfume. I enjoy perfume. It smells good…dead silence because there’s not much more to say.” End of interview.

Yep, most woman do. =)
