Selena Gomez's Weekend of Skin-Baring Style: A Recap of Her Six Sexiest Looks

07/21/2014 at 11:30 AM ET

There was only one way to kick off this Monday morning right: A close examination of Selena Gomez‘s crazy, over-the-top, fun and sexy outfits from this weekend. The singer seems to be living by her new motto “love yourself first” (which is tattooed on her back), as she showed off her fit frame in a number of daring styles at the Ischia Film Festival in Italy.

Let’s begin with her formal appearances. For the premiere of her new film Rudderless, Gomez chose a sheer polka-dot Emanuel Ungaro maxi dress, complete with oversize pockets (and, we imagine, some tricky undergarment action). She added gold hoop earrings and black Casadei pumps to complete the look. At a press conference the next day, the 21-year-old star bared her white bra in a lace-and-feathers Blumarine ensemble and Casadei pumps. (Nothing quite like mixing a prim silhouette with acres of exposed skin for a head-turning ensemble.) And for a black-tie gala dinner, Gomez had her most risqué fashion moment of the weekend in a black plunging rhinestone-encrusted Kayat gown, which had a thigh-high slit.

The singer also selected a number of body-flaunting ensembles as she explored the Italian city. No fanny pack or white sneakers here — for Gomez’s turista moment, she selected three different Zimmermann looks. First up: a floral-print romper with a metallic sheen, teamed with white Casadei sandals. Next, another floral moment, this time a halter dress featuring a waist cutout, plus the same sandals. And finally, a short white lace onesie, which she wore with sky-high heels for a boat trip, avoiding one potential wardrobe malfunction (no danger of wind-induced flashing here) but courted another (high heels + slippery surface + ocean waves = faceplant).

What do you think of the star’s whiplash-inducing style? Are you surprised by her latest fashion direction? Share your thoughts below.

I think she’s getting rather full of herself. She looks like she’s trying to dress like a Kardashian. I liked her much better when she was young and fresh looking. Before Justin B.

She looks cute in some of these and dare I say happy? Hope that happiness is all natural. Meanwhile someone needs to introduce Selena to a tailor. That’s the main issue I have with her style: she always looks like she’s wearing mommy’s clothes, playing dress-up. Beautiful girl, but she’d be more of a knockout on the red carpet if only everything fit properly.

Tamra on

Her cheeks look swollen. She is also has zero brain.

In the picture with the floral halter dress she looks like she is trying to run away from Miley. Lol

She is not the first one to wear that Kayat gown. Check out Andy the bachelorette at her second rose ceremony. Andy looks much better in it.

Looks like a little girl playing dress-up!

I think she looks great! She is young and can pull these outfits off. She doesn’t look trashy (like others mentioned) at all. If she feesl good in it–wear it!
