The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Is Happening Now: Here's What We're Buying

07/18/2014 at 03:36 PM ET

This might be the weekend we skip the beach to shop instead. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicked off today, and there are so many killer pieces with slashed price tags that it’s impossible not to take out your credit card and go a little crazy. From beauty exclusives to perfect-for-fall items, nearly everything is up for grabs. Below, check out what’s already in our shopping carts.

Loeffler Randall clutchCourtesy Nordstrom

Alex Apatoff, Style News Editor: My Loeffler Randall addiction is almost as serious as my constantly depleted shopping budget, so I have to save my LR splurges for great sales. I’d say $100 off this clutch qualifies for that category. My favorite thing about it: The neutral shades and classic shape will go with virtually everything I own, but the mix-and-match textures keep it from being another snoozy shoulder bag. Second best: It’s dressy enough to wear out, but the drop-in chain means I can also rock it cross-body during the day. It’s like nothing else in my closet but it’s going to be my most-worn accessory within weeks. Sorry, can’t type anymore, gotta go get my credit card.

Jackie Fields, Writer-Reporter: Question: When have you ever found bargain Bottega Veneta? Maybe if you were lucky, you stumbled upon some thrice-picked over size 00 top, or scuffed up accessory, at a sample sale. But chances are every woven wallet and perfume bottle you own from the brand cost you many pretty pennies. That’s why I am picking up one (um, maybe two?) of this Exclusive Anniversary Set created for Nordstrom’s epic annual sale. Like everything Bottega Veneta, I love how sensual and sophisticated it is. I’m so drawn to the combination of notes (the pink peppercorn, jasmine and leather stand out on my skin) that I have a bottle at home and at work. Not only am I comforted knowing I have another bottle at the ready for when either runs out, but since the 2.5 ounce size retails for the entire price of this set on it’s own, I basically just got the lotion for free. So now I smell and feel like a million bucks.

Rag & Bone Newbury BootieCourtesy Nordstrom

Brittany Talarico, Associate Style Editor: I’ve wanted a pair of Rag & Bone Newbury booties for years, and seeing every celeb under the sun step out in a pair has only fueled my obsession. I really didn’t want to splurge more than $500 on a pair, so I was thrilled when the style was included in this year’s sale. The granite color goes with everything and I love the slightly-distressed vibe. Once I get these I doubt they’ll ever leave my feet, so the cost-per-wear ratio will definitely be worth it.

Clarisonic brush refillsCourtesy Nordstrom

Catherine Kast, Style Writer: The Clarisonic is a totally worth-it splurge, but there is a lot of upkeep. If you want to make sure you’re getting the full benefits of the product, you have to change out your brush every 3 to 4 months, which can get expensive! But these four-packs are $81 (a $118 value) and come with a carrying case. Yes, the pattern is a little crazy, but I would use mine to house liner pencils, lip gloss and brushes. Plus, the zip-up top keeps them from getting stains on everything else in my kit.
