Amal Alamuddin Wears Gorgeous Purple Gown to Officiate Cousin's Wedding
Amal Alamuddin isn’t afraid to mix up her style. And while we wait patiently to see what kind of wedding gown the London-based attorney chooses for her nuptials to George Clooney, we got a clue as to her taste when we spotted her at another black tie affair — her cousin’s wedding in Italy, which she officiated!
For her duties, Alamuddin selected a rich purple chiffon gown with floral appliqués on the bodice (as readers pointed out in the comments, it’s a J. Mendel design from 2013). She finished her look with soft side-swept curls and a plum lip for the outdoor ceremony held at the 15th-century Villa Mangiacan near Florence. Her fiancé also attended the private affair in a classic tux, but made sure to not take away any attention from the bride and groom, according to a source.
We keep a close eye on her adventurous, well-accessorized street style, but we usually don’t see the 36-year-old lawyer in formalwear. And after this elegant gown, we can’t wait for her to hit the awards season red carpet circuit with George.
