If you’re looking for a soft, subtle hair change, you might want to print out a photo of Ashley Madekwe’s new look and bring it to your colorist. The star brightened up her hue with some fresh blonde highlights.

Our Celeb Style Council member shared photos from her trip to the salon on Instagram first posting the above photo with the caption: “You know what foil means…! #summerhair.”

The result? Sun-kissed streaks and a very beachy cut. “New hair, DO care. Thank you @anjabee for my summer color & thank you @anhcotran for the perfect tousled cut @ramireztransalon #summer.” See her switch-up below!

The actress is always on top of the latest trends, but we’re happy to see she’s eschewed the whole colorful hair moment that’s happening in Hollywood for something more subtle. Her lighter look definitely complements her complexion, and we’re curious to see if she’ll continue to go blonder or return to her darker strands as fall approaches.

Aside from giving us some fun hair inspiration, the fashion-forward star has been very busy on the fashion front, constantly updating her blog with the amazing outfits she styles herself.

What do you think of her new look? Should she go lighter? Sound off below!
