There are plenty of places to get inspiration for your Fourth of July festivities this weekend, but one of our favorites at the moment comes from an unlikely source: British royalty. Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge has been stepping out this week in a variety of summer-perfect, ladylike outfits that happen to work quite well for our patriotic wardrobe plans this weekend.

Tuesday she visited a school in London wearing a tailored Goat dress in raspberry (which earned a compliment from 6-year-old student Seyi), which she teamed with nude heels, an L.K. Bennett clutch and a rare (for her) half-updo.

Wednesday the Duchess attended Wimbledon (and made some truly memorable tennis reaction faces in the stands) wearing the chic white Zimmermann dress she first donned for an event in Sydney, Australia. She also brought back a favorite clutch, a fan-shaped straw number she carried in Canada, and carried a red scarf for added color.

Earlier in the week, she was spotted leaving a charity event in another unusual look for her: a long-sleeved, loose-fitting day dress in a bold navy print. Her hair, however, was as flowing and shiny as ever. We’d be pretty happy to borrow any of these looks for the weekend — sure, they may not be BBQ-friendly, but it’s not like Kate is eating ribs and coleslaw anyway. We’d be willing to upgrade our weekend plans if she’d just send that cute white dress on over.

Which of these is your favorite? Are you loving her hair half-up like that?

You do know that she is British right, they don’t celebrate the 4th of July.
Believe me they have their own special days to celebrate that have nothing whatsoever to do with the USA.I remember it well since I lived in the UK for many years.

How does she stay so thin? I don’t care that she re-wears her clothes. I do too, a lot. I want her secret for staying so thin.

Red, white and blue also happen to be the colors of the UK flag!

Why are we the only country that does not refer to this woman as Duchess or Cambridge? That is so much more appropriate than “Kate”, which is a nick name.. We don’t refer to Queen Elizabeth as “Betsy” or ‘Lil Bit’.. lets refer to royalty in a respect manner.

How does she stay so thin? Good eating habits that are fostered by a chef that cooks delicious but healthy meals, good genes, good exercise routine with your personal trainer, being able to sleep through the night as your baby is tended to by the night nanny, no worries about finances…..
for us normal folks, if you just put your mind to it to eating healthy and maintain a good exercise routine you can look fabulous too. Really!!!

I think she is too thin now as well. I would hope William would tell her if he is concerned
