What We're Buying: Perfect Pumps, Eye-Catching Tees, a Game-Changing Mud Mask and Just-for-Us Shades
Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, we’ve all found the perfect version of what we were looking for, from animal-print heels to the ultimate personalized sunnies.
Alex Apatoff, Style News Editor: I have a soft spot (get it?!) for animal-print anything, and I have yet to find the perfect pair of leopard-print heels. So even though I need absolutely no more shoes (my closet is full to bursting and I’ve already done several Goodwill runs) that didn’t stop me from picking up another pair of pumps on my quest for the ultimate leopard look. These Loeffler Randall “Tamsin” heels (oh, and also their d’Orsay flats. And these Rag & Bone boots. Damn you, Barneys New York sale!) were a total steal at $139 down from $350, and I love the luxe calf-hair texture and chic low heel. They haven’t arrived yet, but I’m already dreaming of all the pegged jeans and minidresses with which I’m going to wear them.

Ali Galgano, fouder of Charm & Chain: As a self-proclaimed jewelry addict, I’m constantly on the hunt for simple tops to showcase my oversized necklaces. The task isn’t always easy, as I’m forever drawn to prints, bright colors, and interesting silhouettes, all of which tend to compete. I came across this neon neoprene shirt by J Brand on a recent trip to LA and instantly fell in love. It’s that ideal happy medium between bold and basic. The best part? It has the perfect neckline to wear with any necklace, whether it’s one big statement piece or multiple layered pendants.

Jackie Fields, Writer/Reporter: Earlier this month I was doing all the things one does when they’re craving a new pair of shades, even though their old ones are in pristine shape. This includes “accidentally” tossing them on hard surfaces and telling my friends that my current pair is all wrong for my face shape. As it turns out, Ray-Ban had just launched their first-ever customizable sunnies, which was the last straw I needed to splurge on a new pair.
I opted for the original Wayfarer with a matte finish, then chose turquoise front with classic black temples for a perfect mix of timeless and hipster. Next, I had the temples engraved with my initials, and selected a red case to store them in. The options were endless (you can also pick your lenses for and sizes of your frames), and the site is so easy to navigate. I customized them on a Tuesday and had them on Friday, just in time to debut them at brunch with friends. Friends who immediately understood why I’d needed new sunglasses so badly.
Katherine Foreman, Intern: The only thing weirder than combining volcanic rock, French sea clay and green tea leaf pieces is putting the combination on your face. At least, that’s what I kept telling myself when deciding whether or not to splurge on GlamGlow’s “TinglExfoliate” mud mask. But when I saw Michelle Phan‘s video about the product, I decided I might as well jump on the Glam-wagon. I was a little hesitant to fork over nearly $70 something I’d never tried, but after using it for the first time, I can’t imagine trusting anything else — volcanic rock or not — on my face. You can feel it working the entire time it’s on your skin. The ingredients work together to dive deep into your pores and pull out the gunk; you can even see it entering your pores as it dries! The tingling feeling leaves my face feeling fresh and the small exfoliating particles smooth your face into the perfect canvas for a day’s beauty regimen. The best part: a little goes a very long way. Here’s to a month’s worth of cheap, semi-weekly facials!
