There’s nothing we love more at PEOPLE StyleWatch than a multi-hyphenate, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson certainly falls into that category. He’s a Modern Family star (and newlywed both on screen and off!), an award-winning actor for his TV and theater roles, and, with husband Justin Mikita, he’s created a line of bow ties called “Tie The Knot” which promote marriage equality. For the second year in a row, he’s smooshing a few of those hyphens together with a limited edition Tie The Knot bow tie created just for this year’s Tony Awards.
To promote the star-studded design, it seemed only fitting that Ferguson shoot a star-studded video. So he enlisted Tony-nominated pals like James Iglehart of Aladdin, Sutton Foster of Violet and Laura Benanti of — wait, what was she nominated for again? — to chat with him about their shows, their excitement for the broadcast and, of course, Ferguson’s chic neckwear, from which all proceeds will go to benefit organizations advocating for LGBT civil rights.
“When designing the Tie The Knot collection with The Tie Bar, we tried to incorporate the essence of the night yet keep it completely refined for a black tie event,” Ferguson said in a statement. Mikita chimed in, “A patterned bow tie with small stars is a statement accessory that will complete the outfit.”
