Creating unexpected combos with my clothes and accessories is something I love to do. Plus girls shouldn’t be afraid to mix things up! Here, I started off with a supergirlie pink top from H&M, a matching pink Forever 21 statement necklace and a lacy Forever 21 pencil skirt. This skirt is great for a few reasons: It’s an easy way to show off legs without revealing too much, it breathes in warm weather and it adds texture and interest to a simple top. It has a real “wow!” factor to it. I’m not going to lie, though — it’s a little tight at my waist. The looser-fitting top totally solves that! It flows right over my midsection and hits just below my hips.
I added a cropped Gap denim moto jacket for a cool, unexpected touch. While I love girlie clothes, I’m actually more of a tomboy at heart, so I like to work in pieces that feel very “me” and give my look a bit of an edge. The Forever 21 nautical striped clutch felt perfect for the season and added a fun pop of print. I finished with Steve Madden snake print pumps. They might not be the most conventional choice for this outfit, but I don’t care! The pattern is so glam and the platforms are amazing for lengthening legs.
The lesson here? Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. And most importantly, have fun with fashion!
