We’ve been going through Jennifer Lawrence withdrawal since awards season ended, but luckily enough, the return of sunshine in N.Y.C. happened to coincide with the return of J. Law to our computer screens. The actress is kicking off her X-Men: Days of Future Past promo tour (she spends most of the movie naked covered in blue body paint as Mystique), and we’re looking forward to seeing how she’ll style her hair, now that her pixie isn’t really a pixie anymore.

Lawrence gave us a sneak peek at her grown-out do Monday as she headed to a taping of Good Morning America with a wavy textured crop that looks to have a fresh asymmetrical cut, with the front pieces grazing her jawline. (See look from all angles above.)

She styled her pixie a number of ways during award season, from swept back at the Oscars to this cowlick moment during her Hunger Games: Catching Fire press tour.

“I cut it earlier … and it grew to that awkward, gross length, and I just kept putting it back in a bun, and I said, ‘Well I don’t want to do this,’ so I just cut it off,” she once said of her decision to go for her super-short crop. “It just couldn’t get any uglier.”

But she’ll have to wear a really convincing wig — and get her braid game back — to take on her role as Katniss Everdeen in the final two films. “This isn’t how Katniss is going to look in the next movie, don’t worry,” she said. “I’m wearing a wig [in the movies].”

What do you think of Lawrence’s do? Are you a fan? Should she cut it again or keeping growing it out? Share your thoughts below.

I’m glad she is growing it out – that pixie looked awful on her.

Seriously cute but the average person wouldn’t be able to get the texture and volume and uneven ends, and would wind up looking like a soccer mom.

So being a soccer Mom is a bad thing Kate!!

Geez her hair must grow fast, lol! Seems like she just had it cut short.

Kirsten Jackson on

Her hair did not grow that fast. Hair grows at an average rate of 1/2 inch per month; people with exceptional hair growth might grow up to 1 inch per month. Her hair was a pixie last month. This is clearly a weave.

@Kirsten Jackson, actually her hair HAS been growing out. At the Oscars her hair was not at all a ‘pixie’ anymore. She had it slicked back on the top and sides and it had obviously gotten shaggy.

In the first pic, it looks like a bad wig. It’s cute from the side and back though.

extremely cute and very age appropriate…she looks great

@Kate, what’s wrong with being a soccer mom?? Do people still assume that just bc someone has kids they can no longer look trendy and beautiful anymore?

Mellie on

I really liked it longer. Each person has a personal choice.
