Kate Gets Wrapped Up in the Perfect Print Diane von Furstenberg Dress (Which Already Sold Out, of Course)

Earlier this year, Diane von Furstenberg celebrated the 40th anniversary of her iconic wrap dress. Now the designer has cause to celebrate again. On Thursday, Duchess Catherine wore the DVF “Patrice” dress when she and Prince William traveled to Australia’s Blue Mountains to visit with residents of an area affected by devastating brushfires last fall.
Unfortunately for those who already have out their credit cards, the Ikat-print cotton dress, which retails for $325, sold out less than 10 minutes after Kate’s appearance, which is not surprising.
Kate has worn (and reworn) DVF in the past. “Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, is truly a DVF girl,” von Furstenberg Tweeted when the Duchess wore her “Maja” dress for an appearance in L.A. in July 2011. Just a few weeks later, Kate recycled the green silk frock for the wedding of Zara Phillips.
For her Australian outing, Kate paired her DVF wrap dress with two familiar accessories: her Stuart Weitzman “Muse” clutch and “Corkswoon” wedges.
