What We're Buying: The Bags and Shoes We Can't Live Without for Spring
Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” Below, check out our favorite finds at the moment, from chic metallic bags to investment heels (courtesy of stylist Anita Patrickson!) to a pair of shoes that our editor is going to passionately defend, no matter what you think.

Alex Apatoff, Style News Editor: For many people, spring cleaning is a chance to clear out all the clutter and start fresh. For me, it’s a time to empty out my closet and sell everything on ThredUp (they send you a postmarked bag and put all your clothes up for sale — no work involved. Baller.) Then I use that cash to buy all the stuff I’ve marked with a “heart” on Shop It To Me so I can watch the price as it drops (yeah, like I pay full price for anything anymore).
First on my shopping list: This awesome rose-gold Rebecca Minkoff bag, which I’ve had my eye on for a while but have just been patiently waiting for the Shop It To Me “Sale Mail” to arrive in my inbox and inform me that the price dropped (yes, I’m addicted). Now that it’s marked down $80, I can finally add it to my closet — it’ll look perfect against all the pastels I’m planning to pick up for spring. It might not be the most effective version of spring cleaning, but hey, whatever works, right?

Anita Patrickson, celebrity stylist: Finding a pair of shoes that can take my outfit instantly from “drab to fab” is an absolute winner in my books!
My wardrobe is full of everyday basics that I live in when I am working on set or running to appointments during the day. I very often throw a pair of pumps into my car so that when evening rolls around I can head straight from a fitting to drinks with a gal pal. I love the ease of being able add one item to my look and finding myself cocktail ready!
Valentino is one of my favorite designers, but isn’t particularly kind on the old bank balance! So, I really try to limit high end purchases to timeless classics that will be in my wardrobe for years to come. These red pumps are just that but with a little bit of a twist. They’re fun and funky but also very simple and sleek in their design. The perfect accent to a cocktail dress or a fabulous way to dress up jeans and a blazer.

Catherine Kast, Writer-Reporter: Don’t kill me. I bought Fit Flops for spring. Seriously, if I told you they were Marni would you have doubted me for a second? No. You wouldn’t have. I can actually walk in them and they give a little bit of lift without the ache of a heel pounding the pavement as I trip down the subway stairs like I do at least once a fashion week and a half-dozen times a summer. If the Olsens wear things like this I figure I can too. They’re like Lanvin with an orthotic twist. I’m all in.
Note to any of my fashion editors: if you do try to kill me just know I sleep with one eye open and a Fit Flop in each hand. Trust me, those things are like paddles and would definitely leave a mark.
