Nailed It: Emma Watson Does Menswear Like It's Her Job

Who: Emma Watson

Where: Heading into the Late Show With David Letterman in N.Y.C.

What She’s Wearing: A Saint Laurent suit with Christian Louboutin heels and jewelry by Anita Ko, Eva Fehren and Sabine G.

Why She Nailed It: Menswear is notoriously tricky to pull off. It needs just the right tailoring, accessories and attitude to keep it from tipping too far into costume territory or going the opposite way and being a little frumpy.

There’s a high degree of difficulty in making a crisp black suit with a fully-buttoned shirt look alluring, but Watson pulls it off and makes it look easy. It’s the combination of the perfect fit, the gorgeously precise vibrant lip, the just-undone-enough bun and the perfectly matched shoes that elevate it past other red carpet menswear looks. Sharp, chic and oh-so-sexy, this is in our pantheon of all-time favorite Watson outfits.

Tell us: What do you think of Watson’s outfit?

Absolutely beautiful.

Sexy…in a very classy and elegant way. Very nice! : )

Amy on

She’s so gorgeous and classy.

She is stunning and this outfit looks amazing on her; she really pulled this look off!

Looks amazing but could use a necklace.

Considering the fact that her pant leg is wrinkled up, making the legs uneven, I’d say the answer to that question is “yes”.

She looks better in a suit than I do. (I would like to see her hair longer-too pixieish for my taste)

It must be the whole T&A factor. None of the actors (males) that were in the “Harry Potter” movies don’t get nearly enough media attention as she does.

She does look good though. It’s defiantly something I can’t pull off

Perfection.

She looks beautiful, but I think she usually does. A bit of static cling on the left leg, but otherwise great. Looks like the same, or very similar “tuxedo” (and it is a tuxedo, by the same designer actually) that Angelina Jolie wore recently at the BAFTA Awards.

Ugh Jennifer, nice comment girl. It’s not about T&A, Emma was a star of those shows even in a supporting role. Not saying the boys didn’t do a great job because they did, but Emma simply shines in everything she does. Men love her, yes, but so do ladies because she’s the epitome of class. She’s a style icon, famous for her next to perfect clothing choices. We like watching that because most women love clothes. She’s very likable all the way around for everyone. Not many people have anything bad to say about the girl.

Drop Dear Gorgeous

Suits her, she’s so tiny that she can get away with a lot of different styles. Agree with other comments that the static cling ruins it a bit, was it made out of poly?

Lisa on

It actually IS her job, isn’t it?

I am surprised that People’s ‘Style Watch’ does not understand the difference between a suit and a tuxedo. There is a difference and this is clearly a tuxedo, despite it being referred to as a suit within the article.
