Is This the New 'It' Shoe of Spring?

03/10/2014 at 06:00 AM ET

Katie Holmes, Alessandra Ambrósio, Sienna Miller and tons more stars have worn them, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Man Repeller have collaborated with them, Rita Ora and Alexa Chung have been the face of them, just about every cool girl in Europe owns them and now you can add these celeb-loved Italian shoes to your closet.

Check out the video below to see why Superga lace-ups have such a cult following.

Pop post-video quiz:

What makes these Superga kicks so awesome? They…

a) …have been worn by tons of It girls and celebrities.
b) …are affordable.
c) …are comfortable — and more supportive than most ballet flats.
d) …can be thrown in the washing machine to be cleaned!
e) …look cute with jeans or a dress.
f) …will never go out of style. Euro ladies have been rocking them for the past few decades and they’re still going strong.
g) …can be customized by writing on them with a Sharpie (we love the idea of putting our initials on the heel).
h) All of the above

The correct answer is h) All of the above. So get a move on and order a pair for yourself!

I don’t like them but at all

Christie on

There is no video to show the shoes, or link for the purchase. Can we have this issue fixed so that consumers like the person below and myself can purchase. Thanks.

So they are the Italian version of Vans. People are silly.

We have been over these in Europe for a long time. Dont fall for their ‘Oh, these are so hot in Europe’ ploy, Americans.

Lala on

@Angela, exactly. I remember people wearing them in the 90s. But I guess that decade is making a comeback.

I have had a few pairs of these but wouldn’t get them again. They’re cute but don’t wash well and hurt afterwards on the back of your foot. Blister city.

Those shoes have NOT been used in Scandinavia or Northern Europe for a few years now.. And when they were THE SHOE, the brand was Kawasaki. They are OUT of style!
A lot of Scandinavians are using New Balance sneakers, and have been for a few years, if you americans want them ;)

I love how all the European gals are telling the real deal. The media is so deceptive.

Yes, if you want to look like an ‘It’ European girl, get yourself some New Balances or Nike’s. Thats what we really wear here.
