NYFW 2014: The A-Listers Finally Brave the Cold for Hugo Boss and Michael Kors

Whether it’s the cold (they’re all on their yachts in the Caribbean), the grueling pace of awards season (they’re all lying down somewhere with wine nearby) or some other mysterious reason, the stars haven’t been shining as brightly at this season’s New York Fashion Week. There are the stalwarts, like Solange Knowles and Anna Kendrick, who bravely attend every show (sometimes bare-legged!) but it’s been a long time since a February front row looked like this.

We were starting to wonder if the high-wattage stars were going to be staying indoors until the Oscars, but that ended Wednesday, as Michael Kors and Jason Wu (showing his first collection for Hugo Boss) lured some Hollywood heavyweights back from their private islands to take in the shows in N.Y.C.

For the Hugo Boss show (left) Reese Witherspoon jetted in from L.A., making a stop at Vogue before joining Gwyneth Paltrow (the face of Boss Femme Nuit and Jour fragrances) in the front row. “So excited for my friend @JasonWu,” Witherspoon wrote on Instagram. Paltrow also got in on the Insta game, posting a full-length shot of her chic black-and-white look, while Diane Kruger joined them before the show started, creating a trio of powerful (and impeccably dressed) Boss blonde bombshells. And yes, they did take a duckface selfie. It’s practically mandatory:

Earlier that day, Michael Kors’s always celeb-studded front row (right) hosted Freida Pinto, Blake Lively and Rose Byrne, all in feminine looks with ’40s florals and flowy fabrics from Kors’s previous collections. We had a close-up view of the stars, and we can assure you that yes, Lively’s hair is that amazing in person.

Who had your favorite outfit? Is it fun to see the big stars at NYFW? Tell us below!

Can’t even look at Witherspoon and not think about her shameful behavior.

Same here! My opinion of Reese Witherspoon has just totally changed. I actually believed she was just a sweet down to earth girl with humility. Not so much.

Love Blake Lively’s outfit!!

Jasmine on

I wonder if Reese used her classic catchphrase to the usher assisting them to their seats: “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?”

Sandy on

Do they think they look good??? They look so stupid doing that stupid face!!

Spenny on

Really? I can take her or leave her, but Reese apologized almost immediately and always took responsibility for her bad behavior (and seriously, who hasn’t gotten little lippy with a few drinks under our belts?).

A “duckface selfie?” Good gravy what has this world come to? When society thinks this ridiculous pose is “practically mandatory” and people are so self absorbed that they think it them cool and everyone just has to see theirs then I just want to throw my hands in the air and say “I am at a loss.” No wonder I love classic movies and the movie stars of yesterday. They had class and style without Twitter and Instagram! On another note, Blake Lively looks beautiful and classy. Two thumbs up to her

I am so glad that I am not the only one who’s opinion of Reese Witherspoon has changed, and not for the better. After making such a fool of herself in Atlanta with her “do you know who I am?” comment, I just lost any desire to see her movies.

You all are Losers. Give Reese a freakin break. You only watched her movies before because she was an upstanding citizen? I doubt it. She’s a human.

Frieda Pinto, Rose Byrne and Blake Lively look beautiful.

Their true personalities shine through with the duckface picture.

Self-absorbed? on

Reese and Gwyneth belong together. They’re so “I’m better than you”. They can both go down the sinking ship of public likability. Yuck.

RR on

Like you all have never said anything stupid? At least your faux pas don’t get picked up by media. She apologized, no one was hurt (thank goodness) but her.

Blake, Frieda, and Rose are absolutely stunning! What I would give to have a dress like any of theirs (or go to a Hugo Boss and Michael Kors fashion show)!
