Pharrell Williams Was Named 'Hat Person of the Year' (Of Course!)

Anyone up for the title of “Hat Person of the Year” has a big brim (?) to fill — after all, previous winners include Duchess Catherine, Johnny Depp and Kate Moss. But this year’s honoree, Pharrell Williams, manages to do his famously behatted predecessors proud — and he possibly even tops them in toppers.
After all, Pharrell’s hat (and #pharrellhat) totally hijacked the Grammys red carpet; his oversized Vivienne Westwood “Buffalo” hat (center) had tons of people talking. (And it was no fluke: As it turns out, he has it in two colors!)
PHOTOS: It cost how much?! The best star bargains from the red carpet!
And his Grammys hat was hardly his first noteworthy headwear moment. He’s covered his cranium with everything from a fur trapper hat, fedora, porkpie, snapback, straw Panama hat, military cap, whatever this is, trucker hat … you get the idea.
Pharrell, who beat out Anne Hathaway and Al Roker (among others) for the title, will be honored by the Headwear Association at their 106th annual gala April 24. That gives him plenty of time to come up with one hat to outdo every one he’s ever worn in the past. Any suggestions? Are you thrilled he won? Tell us below!
