It will be hard to miss Team USA at the winter Olympics opening ceremonies in Sochi, Russia, Feb. 7. Not only because they tend to be one of the bigger (and pretty boisterous) teams — but also because they’ve got one of the most eye-catching uniforms you’re bound to see walk into the stadium.

Designed by Ralph Lauren (as has been every Olympic team uniform since 2008), the brightly patterned sweaters are meant to represent “classic Americana patchwork quilts and sweaters,” David Lauren, the company’s EVP of marketing, said on the Today show during the official reveal. The back of the sweater continues the pattern of white stars on a blue background, with “USA” emblazoned in large red letters.

Also part of the uniform: boots with red laces, white fleece pants, a belt “accented with jacquard tape featuring patriotic graphics” and mittens that open to say “GO 4″ on one hand and “GOLD” on the other. And, following the controversy over the 2012 uniforms, which were made in China, everything is made in the USA. “We’re so proud, working with vendors from across America, across every state,” Lauren said.

Added curler Jared Zezel (not pictured; above are hockey players Zach Parise and Julie Chu), who helped unveil the uniform on the Today show: “It’s awesome that it’s one hundred percent American. It’s very patriotic looking. It looks great.” And if you want to feel like you’re part of the excitement, you can pick up any of the pieces on TeamUSAShop.com. All proceeds from the sweater’s sales will be donated to the U.S. Olympic Committee, which funds Team USA.

What do you think of the uniforms? Will you add this sweater to your wardrobe?

The only thing decent about that outfit is the boots. (I am not saying this because my countries uniforms have been the absolute best in recent years.) People have a style conscience and this is not something I would have ever thought would be considered classy. Ralph Lauren, I expect so much better from you! You are Ralph Lauren for gods sake!

I for one love them! That’s what it’s about…standing out. The summer ones were boring.

Looks like a sweater cardigan Bill Cosby would have worn. How hard is it to make them look cool?

I like them. Really like them. They should be patriotic.

To each their own. Nothing wrong about celebrating America, you could always go to Russia and live. Ella, typical Americana and you have the typical arrogant American answer

Umm Cali, I am Canadian, thank God!!

Apart from the fact that they are busy and kind of unattractive, aren’t these ceremonies usually outside? They’re going to freeze their touchies off. I’d refuse to outside in RUSSIA in February in that.
