We were hoping for a major hair change on the red carpet at the Golden Globes tonight, but we didn’t expect to have a celeb fulfill our hair wishes quite so quickly. Hayden Panettiere was the first star to hit the E! red carpet, and she did so in a sassy, shorter new do.

Though Giuliana Rancic focused her attention on the star’s sexy Tom Ford halter dress, we were all about the new cut. We’re so used to seeing the star with her long blonde hair — or her Nashville alter ego Juliette Barnes’s big blonde curls — that we were super super excited to check out her modern, shoulder-skimming look. She played it up with a gelled-back style that echoed the modern vibe of her dress.

What do you think of Panettiere’s new cut? Do you love that she gave it a big red carpet debut? Tell us below!
