Beauty Trends You'll See Everywhere This Awards Season

01/09/2014 at 02:40 PM ET

Smoky eyes. Red lips. Loose waves. If you have these perennial trends picked for any of your award show beauty pools, you’ll definitely win big this year. But we’re putting our money on (and crossing our fingers for) some more high-drama, out-of-the-box looks on the many upcoming red carpets.

We’re less than two weeks into 2014, and we’ve already predicted one trend right, thanks to Naya Rivera, who hit the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards Wednesday night with a brand new blonde-ish hair hue. (We can’t decide if she reminds us of Kim Kardashian or J.Lo with the new color).

What else do we want to see? Hand jewelry. Hair jewelry. Man manis. (kidding. sort of.) No extensions. Like we said, the more dramatic and unexpected, the better.

Watch Style and Beauty Director Andrea Lavinthal and Senior Style Editor Zoë Ruderman in the clip above for more red carpet beauty predictions. And tell us: What beauty trends do you expect (or hope) to see on the red carpet? Share your thoughts below!
