What Kourtney Kardashian, Nikki Reed and More Want for Valentine's Day (Guys, You Listening?)
You’ve just put away the last ornament and exchanged the last gift when Valentine’s Day sneaks up on you before you know it. In the February issue of PEOPLE StyleWatch (on stands Friday!) our Style Council weighs in on the best gifts they’ve gotten or given — or just the most memorable dates they’ve spent with their loves. No matter how much gift fatigue you may have, we bet this will get you jump-started on the next holiday.
Kourtney Kardashian: “I give Valentines to all of my sisters, Scott, my mom and my kids. We always give different things — last year I got my sisters these pinkish little silky romper pajamas. We are very festive at my house, my kids and I make heart-shaped cookies, I get Valentine’s candy and we drop off gifts and packages at all of our friends’ doorsteps. It’s so fun to celebrate all of the little holidays when you have children. It’s an excuse to live your childhood all over again!”
Cat Deeley: “I always try and make something for my husband. The perfect gifts are the ones money can’t buy. Even if it’s just a photograph in a frame, a book or a fabulous find from a flea market. Anything personalized just works, like my Monica Vinader bracelet.”
Jamie Chung: “Usually with [my new fiancé] Bryan, I don’t really do cards. But I leave Post-It notes everywhere, not just Valentine’s day! It’s more personalized: Write down one thing you love about their face or a fond memory you guys had together or little arrows that point to a gift. It’s nice to do if you number them and put a word on each Post-It and when you put it together it’s a proper message. It’s creative and different!”
Kristin Cavallari: “I don’t usually do gifts, but my favorite Valentine’s day present I received was two years ago when I was pregnant with Cam, I wasn’t feeling too well and [husband] Jay [Cutler] made dinner for me and put rose petals all over the table and lit candles. It was very special because I was pregnant and he took over which was really sweet.”
Louise Roe: “I’m a fan of small but very personal romantic gestures. So remembering small details like someone’s favorite song, or flower, or snack is far more endearing than getting 50 red roses and a new pair of shoes. It’s always New York Fashion Week over Valentine’s Day, so some of my best memories are actually partying at the Boom Boom Room with a bunch of single mates!”
Naya Rivera: “I don’t usually do gifts, but may be I should bring it back! [Fiancé] Sean does really romantic things all the time. I think it’s cool to set up something at home and cook for your Valentine … it’s always fun to dress up and have them think you’re going somewhere but really staying home.”

Nikki Reed: [Husband] Paul [McDonald] makes cards for every holiday: Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day! He likes to make them and spend up to two weeks making one card, but then he can scan them and hand them out or send them to people. I’m hard to surprise … I like to do random things. I love getting tickets to a good comedy show, anything that makes you laugh and makes you feel good.”
