Jessica Simpson on Her Weight Loss Plan: 'When You See My Wedding Dress, You'll Know'
Jessica Simpson has been working hard to lose weight after giving birth to son Ace last June. And the busy mom is definitely on the right track. (Seriously, have you seen her in this LBD?) But her get-fit plan has one specific goal in mind: Slipping into her wedding dress for her upcoming nuptials to fiancé Eric Johnson.
“The new year will definitely bring on the wedding bells, which is exciting … I think it’s about time,” she shares in the above video, which features outtakes from her new Weight Watchers ad. “Knowing that I have the wedding coming up is an incentive to stay on Weight Watchers, count my points and stay in the gym. I mean, when you see my dress, you’ll know.”
Simpson attributes her recent success to Weight Watchers’ Simple Start program, which allowed her to “completely re-focus and jump back on track” with her health and fitness routine.
“For me, losing weight was ‘hashtag get started,’ because every week for me was a new week and a new goal and I need to re-encourage myself to have that drive we all have when we first get started,” she says.
And when it comes to New Year’s resolutions, Simpson makes sure to start small: “I think if you do set resolutions for yourself, it shouldn’t be something grand. I think it should just be about getting started on something and see if you can stick with it.”
Aside from feeling amazing in her wedding dress, the star also wants to get back her body confidence this year. “I’m just trying to feel good in a pair of jeans and T-shirt,” she explains. “I can’t wait to be able to feel just comfortable in my skin and know that I’m back to the person I’ve been before. I know this time I’m going to be so much stronger and so much more empowered, because I really earned it and I really got here, and took the steps to get here.”
